Is this a serious post or a parody of how brexiteers viewed 'REMOANERS' ?

Genuinely not sure.
Having a look at twotter this morning, it seems a legit claim. Goldbridge just tweeted something similar and it’s a moan fest out there. Thank feck we dodged that Poch bullet I say..

Poch would have been a fun rebuild , which is what I see ole as. Poch would have got rid of our talented kids, the greenwoods of the world, but also the underperformers and we would have at least run harder than every other team, which is not nothing. For me if would have been a crazy switch at this stage with such a promising young counter attacking side

Ole really is the luckiest manager in the world
That said, we do seem to be heading in a positive direction, so long may that continue!

This has been a good run but its still just a few games. Since Leipzig I think its been about 5/6 games. He has almost assured whatever happens he will make it to the end of the season and that is where the final verdict will be made. I'm still not convinced but I'd love for him to win the league and prove me wrong.

So how about supporting him fully and help create a positive atmosphere around the club until end of the season?
If we don’t achieve certain targets I’ll join you in OleOUT at end of the season too.

Poch is gone but it was never just about him. It's whether Ole is the right one.

He's escaped again and we are playing well. Let's see how it goes but we seem to be on a roll. I am just intrigued ot see if it's another run that is followed by something poor or we can sustain it.

There are lot of sacked managers in big clubs every year I guess. Why stop with groupstage. Every manager should be sacked unless they win the tournament. And League. Same year. With only wins. By at least 3-0. All season.

2 year is forever?
Say what you want.
Going out in UCL groupstage should be unacceptable for a club of this stature.

That's fair.

We're definitely still a work in progress in my view and I don't think we should lose our minds if we drop points at Leicester either.

We are aiming to match the consecutive away win PL record, Leicester are a good side and are probably owed a result against us at this stage. It's 2017 since they even got a point off us.
Yes exactly, win, lose or draw - alone it means nothing and shouldn't be the driver for another wave of 'I told you so' threads. The caf has just become littered with a few posters who aren't contributing to any discussion but just feel the need to try and wind others up and post en masse in multiple threads, it makes finding interesting opinions and debates a hell of a lot harder. Just look at the state of the some of the posts on the Pochettino since Tuchel's sacking.

Maybe I'm thinking too much into it but is anyone else concerned about the amount of red cards/red card offences we've had so far? Martial against Spurs, Fred against PSG and Cavani was a very, very lucky man last night. To me that suggests a potential lack of discipline.

We are not longer the best team in world. Don't forget. It is our 3rd time in Champions League since Sir Alex Ferguson retired. Come down from the mountain top and join us.

I was always of the opinion that this job was too big for him.

HOWEVER if he can keep this up and get us performing like this even more consistently then fair fecks he proved me wrong. Would love nothing more.

We’ve gone out in group stage with better squads under SAF.
100%. Didn’t know hate for Ole caused memory loss. We crashed out of the group stages in 2006 in what should have been a fairly easy group. That was a far better squad and one that would be champions the next year. Shit happens but some of supporters are resembling the plastic pricks from city and Chelsea that we all used to regularly mock.

Different from Ole, Sir Alex got all the credit in the world. Now it seems that we got to compare anything Ole does with the lowest point of previous managers. "Hey we lost 7-1 to spurs, dont care because under Sir Alex it also happend once in 26 years were on the right path".

Just hear yourself.

In less than 6 months Liverpool will match our number of league titles. All 2 of their Premier Leagues were won when we were under Solskjaer. They have twice our Champions League titles one of them was won when we were under Solskjaer.

Solskjaer inherited a team that finished 6 points above them and last season finishing 33 points behind them was declared as a definitive progress.

Trophies have been replaced by 10 good results. Nobody sees we are under one of the longest period of trophy draught in our history.

We are told to forget our standards. Rewrite new ones where Ole looks successful. Or believe in random samples, meaningless tables running across meaningless windows of time period to see United top the table under Ole. This is "progress". This is the "rebuild". This is all we should expect.

Otherwise we aren't real fans.
Utter drivel.

SAF took several seasons to build consistent success yet you think that Ole shouldn’t be measured against that. You seem to think that he should be measured against skmething that took SAF 6 years to build.

Like many You are very selective about the standards and have forgotten about the first 6 seasons under SAF and the 20 years prior to that.

Rome wasn’t built in a day.....if you want instant gratification you should thrash your bishop!

I don't see Ole sacked any time during the season. So I will review his time at the end of this season. I have a strong feeling he is here to stay and the board will not sack him unless he loses the dressing room or does an arteta

You’re cherry picking a shock result against Spurs when the pandemic completely upended the season and prevented clubs like ours from having a real pre-season. The dippers had arguably a worse result against Villa but are carrying on. Ole has steadied the ship in the league since that shock result yet the whinging continues.

COVID happened in 2020, it happened when we were under Solskjaer. Some will say I’m not a real fan for saying this...

Meanwhile, Skysports sums up his CV:

Pochettino spent five-and-a-half years at Spurs, leading them to the Champions League final, League Cup final, and two FA Cup semi-finals, as well as four top-four finishes in the Premier League, before being dismissed in November 2019.

I disagree with that, I think Fred's was bone-headed due to the amount of fouls he got away with after his booking and Cavani's incident last night was pretty nasty.

Yes - but the tackle he got sent off for was a good tackle. As for Cavani - yes it was stupid, but I am getting tired of watching big players fall down like Mina did yesterday.

We are on a good streak at the moment, for as much as I want a better coach with us I wouldnt sack Ole right now we can agree on that being a bad call at this particular moment.

But my argument was about how every Ole failure is somehow compared to some Sir Alex's failure I mean for sure Sir Alex got bad results and poor eliminations the man managed this club for 26 years FFS. But everytime I see someone asking for patience for Ole because at some point in those amazing 26 years under Sir Alex we got a similar results, well thats cherry picking and its insulting to one of, if not, the best manager of all time.

Ole should never, ever be measured with what SAF achieved. I don't know how you can think the club SAF took over is in anyway comparable to the one Ole inherited. Night and day isn't even close.

I get you but that wasn't what was being said.

A poster was claiming that any manager at a big club going out in the group stages should be fired as it wasn't acceptable.

Fergie was brought up to show that it's ridiculous to be so hardline when you have to take in all of the other factors before making that decision.

1) This season is to finish with at least 76 points and within 10-12 points of the league winners. 2nd place would be amazing, minimum is qualification for Champions League.
2) make it to One Cup Final; win is a bonus
3) Score at least 75 goals
4) Have established 2 well drilled strategies on how to play: ie: how to win vs possession based sides and how to win vs low block sides.
5) Visible difference in development of younger 1st team squad players like Greenwood, Henderson, Tuanzebe

The first is mandatory. Second is highly desirable but getting knocked out in semi finals is OK.
The others are preferable and denote the way Id like to see the club attain its mandatory requirements.

If Ole hits these targets, and is provided world class talent at CB, DCM and maybe RW or striker in summer window (selling 4 deadwood players as well), then next season 2021/22, I'd expect a serious title challenge seeking to win and worst case is finish 2nd and within 5 points of eventual winners, and make it into last 8 of CL.

Also Atkinson regularly finished in top 4 and won cups for fun before SAF took over and his squad had many expensive and talented players but with weak mentality and many bad fitness habits. Situation vs what Ole took over from isn't that dissimilar.

Thanks for clarifying I didnt read that particular post. I agree being out of the group stage alone is not enough to sack a manager, but its a big failure and if aligned with other bad results of course people are going to ask for the coach to be sacked.

Anyway my point is that Ole and SAF shouldnt even be in the same conversation, and I see this too often here.

I'd wager it's because he lost all of those finals and semi-finals, and then the dressing room.

Fair enough and on the whole I agree with you but for me the most important would be your number 4. One thing we've lacked in Oles tenure so far is consistency. We've had great results lately but some of the performances haven't been that great. Of course at the minute we can't have it all and it could just be the sign of the times we live in but if we have 2 established well drilled strategies then that should bred confidence to play more consistent football on a more regular basis which in turn gives us more of a chance to win important titles. I'd rather finish 4th showing marked improvement in our consistency than 2nd playing hit and miss football.

Where I don't agree with you is needing 3 or 4 WC players if we have any chance of winning the league next season. I don't even think there are WC players for those positions. Maybe Haaland but I don't think he'll be going anywhere in the summer. Ndidi is probably one of the best DMs in the league but I wouldn't put him as WC and he'd still cost North of 80m. Sancho is still young but he's still only potential. CB I can't think of 1 that would be available to us so I'm afraid that Ole will have to do it the old fashion way and look beyond the obvious talent although I do think Sancho will be a United player sooner rather than later.

And where I definitely don't agree with you is comparing the squad SAF took over to the one Ole inherited. SAFs squad was the opposite of weak minded. They were strong characters who also happened to alcoholics and it's thanks to SAF that Ole can call upon players like Greenwood, Rashford and McT and to train in world class facilities because SAF sure didn't have that luxury.

I see, so we are discussing utd managers but we are not allowed to mention SAF even though he was a utd manager. Bit like saying we can discuss Roman leaders but keep Caesar out of it.

Seems to me that the real reason you want to leave SAF out of it is because the fact that it took him six years to build does not fit in with your narrative and so instead of replying with an intelligent response, as you cant argue with the undisputed facts, you would rather censor that part of history and say it is all crap which doesn’t convince anyone.
