Anyone else feel they have to go for the capital if they think they might have the country correct?
I always go the opposite unless it's obvious it's the capital, I have realised I don't have a clue where the feck capitals even are located though

I tried a couple before-hand and decided to do new one, if too many rounds were from US, or if it was too hard, or if I did too poorly  So obv this was above-average round for me :) (but easily beatable)

Proud of my second round answer that missed by 25m. I doubt anyone gets close to round 5.
I came 2nd with a gap of 1500 points.... I want to cry so bad right now because I was timed out on the 3rd one due to my wife wanting a glass of water but most importantly..
I'm fecking Bangladeshi and I knew exactly where that was because I can read bengali :(

This is way too much fun!

I got most countries right there but ended up at the opposite sides of the bastards! The 5th one is an easy to guess country, but impossible to pinpoint!
It is!

Yeah, I think they should always award more points if you get the country right but miss by thousands of kms.

Do people want me to pre-screen these? So they are not too geographicly concentrated/too hard/too easy? Or just random ones? And is the time limit good now?

Depends on the country. There are some countries where I assume Google hasn't done streetview outside of the capital or major cities.

I don't mind proper random ones no matter how hard, it's all a bit of fun at the end of the day

Damn you Russia for being so bloody big! Happy with my overall score though.

No haircut for you!

I enjoy the ones with small hints that you can eventually work out the best, although getting the country right of extremely challenging ones is almost as rewarding.

The last one is why I like being able to move. It was pretty much impossible to know from that. The others were more possible. Happy with the 4th guess.

Yeah. If it was 1st or 2nd, I would have done another one. But since it was last and pretty okayish set as a whole, I got lazy and didn't search for a better one.

You'll be surprised actually. Go to any random spot with roads on Google Maps and dangle the little guy over the map (yes, I've done that :) ). You'll see that they have covered an insanely large portion of the globe already. Plus they have done multiple reruns in many countries as well. (For any Streetview image, you can also check it's history if there is any.) A huge endeavour.

I don't even understand your 4th guess. Clearly you saw the sign to tell you the town, but then you didn't put it on the town? fecking weirdo. Can't believe I lost to you.
I didn't think it looked busy enough to be the town itself, so assumed that that sign was adveritsing a business nearby in the town, so went just outside.

Plus why would you put the full address on a sign in a town where you already are.

And in your 3rd guess, you put it in the wrong country, when the alphabet clearly didn't match that country. I'm so mad. I see we had the same idea for the 1st one though.
I had no idea what the language was tbh, I just suddenly thought Thailand at the last minute and put it in in a panic

The ones with Russian looking writing are so painful, because even if it's Russia it could be literally anywhere, plus then the other countries that use their language or similar ones, bleh!

True. They also have a lot more American flags on their lawns.
I have to say, I certainly expected more stuff like "Alabama born and bred" stickers to help me out on US maps

Russia is certainly the worst. Theoretically I should have an advantage, but in reality my knowledge only confuses me. Typical buildings & cars alongside half of the world, take your pick on the basis of one random mountain that you see in the background

There was a sign!? I was struggling to think how Olly could possibly have been so close with those last two, as I was doing pretty well up until then.

The previous rounds helped me with the Cyrillic language places. I recognised that the paving was the same as it was in a Bulgarian location.

Not that that stopped me from second guessing myself and clicking on Greece.
