I dont know....did var look at it? I didnt think it was a foul....maguire already in the air, defender nowhere near it.
Yes VAR looked at it and ruled it out, it was said in the same commentary that Neville was talking in

Do you genuinely think Shaw did not touch the ball?
It was the follow through that worried me, i saw a slight tough but then studs into his ankle, looked like one of those that could have been nasty and whilst i'm very much in the minority, i would have been calling for it had it been the other way.

Shaw got the ball then went through the player.
Brady got none of the ball but went through the player who was 1v1.

what would have happened if Cavani gets his leg broken?

We're playing exactly the way Burnley want us to, I can see them sneaking a goal and winning 1-0

We need to come out in the 2nd half and try and playing football not kick ball

Which is fine, but you came in here calling everyone out when the consistent complaint form everyone was Neville saying over and over and over that he didn’t touch the ball. He very clearly did.

If he’d said he got the ball but the follow through could be deemed a foul nobody would have given a shit.

Is obviously does this to make it look like he’s not being biased but it makes him look so thick and stupid

He's a fecking insufferable cnut.

And he's an awful co-commentator. If only we didn't have to have a 'name' maybe we could have someone with a working set of eyes and a voice suited to broadcasting.

Changed my opinion today. Just waffling absolute nonsense which isn’t even anti-red, just nonsense.

We're splitting hairs, Neville also said Shaw's in trouble and after the event that both managers will be happy with the outcome, which i agree with, although pretty much everyone else doesnt, and as i say, if it was at the other end i personally would be calling for a red.

Needs to get his eyes checked, that might help him provide proper insight rather than building a whole narrative around being completely wrong

Excatly. Call it like it is ffs, you can tell he clearly meant there was no faul by Maguire, but he started mumbling and hesitating.

If you can't call it like it is, you may as well just stay home.

Have to say I can't remember being gaslighted harder by an announcer than Neville saying Shaw missed the ball
Even called my girlfriend over to verify I'm not going insane and Shaw clearly touched the ball first
I did this too  felt like I was going mad or something he was so adamant that Shaw didn’t get the ball, I was furious.

It’s not splitting hairs whatsoever. The issue everyone had was his repeated incorrect statement trying to stir shit up like he always does.

He fears being seen as Utd bias as Paddy Crerand is on MUTV, so he feels he has to knock Utd for them rival fan/neutral points.

Although now hes gone way too far with it to the point that he’ll knock Utd for something on the pitch and he’s wrong.

He wasn't talking about the follow through.

He kept saying over and over Shaw doesn't get the ball first, even though replay after replay shows he does touch the ball first.

He's blind.

You couldn’t call for a red. The footage conclusively shows the ball being played. Despite the attempt to freeze frame Shaw’s foot in contact from the front angle, it appears to be behind the Burnley players leg, not on it. The only other available angle shows a clip on his calf. It’s not straight legged. It may be a foul. A red for that and we might as well say no tackling.

I’m also not a fan of his ‘oooooh‘s and ‘whoooaaa’s on commentary. Doesn’t feel professional to me and very Fanzoney if anyone remembers that on Sky Sports.

It is splitting hairs because we're arguing different points.

It’s not splitting hairs. Neville said over and over over that he didn’t touch the ball, when he clearly did. It changes the whole context of the whether it’s a red or a yellow.
