If we can't win a game of football without Bruno, we're fecked. Anyway, Liverpool are away to Spurs midweek, so Klippety will have more than one eye on that game for sure. He doesn't have the luxury of squad depth that we have currently and he's known for mugging off cup competitions so we should be able to get the job done tomorrow.

Nah I think the drop in quality from Rashford to James is too big for this game. Plus, Rashford didn't play the majority of the Fulham game so should be fine to play today and vs Sheffield United.

And no I am NOT a Liverpool supporter! haha - why would you say that?
My bad. Saw your user name but for some unknown reason it became Steve Gerrard in my mind :lol:

A strong team to go for the win. Reason number 1. Builds team confidence, 2 it is a competition to win gives the younger players experience of being in a winning team plus builds their experience . 3. Damages Liverpool's confidence, increases pressure and causes problems for their Spurs game. 4 It's Liverpool

The most potent rival in the league this season is man city rather than Liverpool. If we cannot maintain the winnings in the league, it is a huge waste of the opportunity. The next four league games are all physically very demanding, Sheffield Utd, arsenal, Southampton, Everton. This is a period easily piling up injuries if the squad is not rotated well. So, I think we should start our B squad and use the star players as the impactful subs. The B squad might not be good enough to win but will be good enough keep us in the game. Then, the impactful subs will win the game for us if needed. Remember there are 5 subs.

I think both sides will go strong and hope for an easier draw in the next round. I’m going 2-1/2-0 United. Liverpool are out of sorts and our lads are finally playing for each other, they aren’t playing particularly stylishly but the effort and the spirit is there and I can see us getting this one over the line. I hope Ole isn’t too conservative but it’s probably going to be another slog!

The next round opponent is west ham, another tough game. If we beat pool, we should be able to overcome west ham. I just hope we don’t lose anyone to injury through these cup games.

I actually wouldn’t mind using this game as an experiment and going toe to toe with them just to gauge how far we’ve come. Rest Bruno though.

We’re not going to fluke the league title; all the games are must-win. We should not be sacrificing a trophy charge to try and keep fresh at the midpoint of the season. We will undoubtedly face an injury crisis just like Man City and Liverpool have done. Ole should put out a strong enough team to win, each and every game. We should have beaten Liverpool last time. Ole has said VDB will play, so that might be the one big change, VDB in for Fred.

    Giggs would love this.
This season till now we have been in good shape in terms of fitness and injuries. Don’t know if it is due to some work the coaching team has done behind the scene. Ole experienced the injury crisis several times during his managing career here and he acknowledged it and I believe he has done something to try to address it. Hope it work out to give us a foundation for the second half of the season.

If this match goes to penalties, Uniteds 5 possible penalty takers?
Really depends on who is playing at the time but our best in order for me: Bruno, Rashford, Martial, Pogba, Cavani, Mata. Beyond that there’s a few more who I could see stepping up which includes Greenwood, Shaw, McTominay. After that you really get into the unknown territory and I wounding fancy the others as much unless they stepped up with real confidence.

Are people prioritizing United or personal hatred on Liverpool? The later is just stupid.

They can beat us 6-0 on this 4th round FA Cup. Let them have the win over United trophy that used to be their proudest trophies under Fergie. As long as we win the League, it's more important to the Club.

I gotta fear about this one. Liverpool ain't gonna keep firing blanks and can see today when that changes. The fact Cavani aside our forwards have developed this habit is a worry as well. Ole will have to play his strongest side and hope Cavani can get on the end of a Bruno through ball and also a Pogba rocket.

Hope Ole plays a footballing lineup this time instead of moaning that players lost the ball too easily in transition.

    De Gea
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Telles
    Pogba Matic
    James VdB Rashford
    Cavani

They can all play a pass besides James. I'd get James to sacrifice his game and neutralise Robertson. He's their biggest threat at the moment.

This time Rashford needs to play on the left to get behind Trent and not Martial like last time.

I think the team above gets the job done 2.0, if needed Fernandes and Mata could come on and upgrade James and VdB for abit more quality on the ball.

It’s Sheff Utd we play mid week not peak Barcelona, hope that answers your question.
Sheffield on Wednesday, and Arsenal away on Saturday. Then Southampton on Tuesday.

I hope you see the bigger picture here.

2/3 changes today I’ve already mentioned , another few changes mid week sets us up nicely for Saturday and Tuesday

you’d swear there was 4/5 games to go in the league race the way some are talking , we are halfway through FFS

FFS the state of this thread already, play the B team :houllier: if they beat us 6-0 let them .
Reading this, why bother even turning up.
It's Liverpool, if you can't get excited for home FA Cup tie with Liverpool! Why are you here ?

I'm glad this forum wasn't around in 1999. We'd have had fans trying to get Fergie to play the kids against Liverpool back then :wenger:

They once won 4-1 at OT in a League game, against one of the greatest United side. So what? We had bigger fish to fry, then went on to win the League.

They can keep that 4-1 trophy.

Again, we have League games on next Wednesday, Saturday, then Tuesday. I'd think 4th Round FA Cup isn't that important. If you think it's important because it's Liverpool, I'd say United fare is more important.

Hard to call this game. If there’s a fixture to pull Liverpool out of their slump, then it’s United in the FA Cup.

Definitely go with a strong lineup to pile as much misery on them as possible. This is not a fixture to take for granted.

It’s still the FA cup though! I want to win to go through to the next round as well as screwing over Liverpool. It’s a great cup that I hope we can win!

Let’s smash them, play almost a full team and beat them to ruin their season even more.

Totally wrong, what's the point if being in a competition, if you don't go out and try to win it.
Your approach is one I have never understood and never will.
