I’d go for a couple of rotations, but at the end of the day it’s a game against our biggest rivals, I don’t think we should ever field a weakened team or be reserved in our approach.

    Henderson
    Williams
    Maguire
    Bailly
    Telles
    Matic
    Pogba
    Bruno
    Greenwood
    Cavani
    Rashford

I might even plump for James on the right if we’re looking to sit in and hit them on the counter. If we do need to rotate do it in the Sheffield United game so we can back to full strength for Arsenal.

Ole said he will rotate, so bearing that in mind:

    Henderson
    AWB--Lindelof--Tuanzebe--Telles
    McTominay--Fred
    Greenwood--VdB--Rashford
    Martial

Subs: De Gea; Williams, Maguire; Matic, Pogba, Bruno; James, Mata, Cavani

Will be easier to pursue the Europa in my opinion, should get an easier tie after Sociedad. The FA Cup has lost its sparkle, its shit.
The Europa has a tonne more games though and actually properly disrupts the league.
The main point of the Europa is a back door entry to the champions league.

It's that cup we need to rotate in. Not an FA cup game v the old rivals.

I won’t be upset at losing tomorrow. There’s a decent reward for the losers with a relaxed fixture list. City are already a game behind with a League Cup final to fit in and guaranteed progress in this competition later today. Every little helps.

However, I just caught the end of this YouTube live stream.

Strange how any United fan can say they don't care if we lose to liverpool at old trafford.

    Fans really have changed.

    Henderson
    AWB - Bailly - Maguire - Telles
    Matic - Pogba
    Bruno
    Greenwod - Martial - Rashford

In their form this should be good enough to knock them out.

We need to beat these rusty bullet holes tomorrow to make up for the injustice of them nicking a draw last week.

    Cue 0-2 loss

Some people really think Ole will rotate more than 2, maybe 3 players? They want 6, 7, 8 players to be rested?! It is freaking Liverpool!!! Not Tranmere or Marine, Liverpool!!

agree. Henderson for DDG is probably the only one that will play because it’s a cup game - who wouldn’t normally play in a league game. We might see Telles and DVDB start, but could see that as part of OGS normal rotation for a league game.

Such an important game. Making it to the next round of them FA Cup is neither here nor there really but winning would give us such a psychological going into second half of the season

The good thing about this match is that the nerves are non existent as I would put a lot more emphasis on the league than cups. I would go all guns blazing and just battle them.

If we keep on playing our strongest XI there are going to be a flurry of injuries in the later stages.

It's just crazy. Why would you want to throw away a cup! and a tie against Liverpool, your biggest rival and one of the favourites for the cup.

If we go all the way in this cup it would be 4 more games over 4 months basically 1 extra game a month over the rest of the season, its not gonna cause us a massive issue it would be 23 games in league and cup approx a game every 5 days which doesn't seem unreasonable for the first team.

If were gonna use the kids/second string for anything than it will be Europa league if sociedad knock us out in round of 32 I wont be losing any sleep over it, it's a useful competition as a back door to the champions league but we should be looking at finishing top 4 for that.

To even contemplate throwing a game against our arch rivals at home in the FA cup is frankly disrespectful, just ask yourself this how good would it feel to knock them horrible bin dipping, always the victims whinging fecks out of the cup tomorrow, fantastic is how it would feel.

Innit, so weird. I’ll be fuming if we lose.
Same here. How can anyone say they‘d be ok with us getting beat at home by Liverpool, I’d be gutted if we lost to them in a pre season kickabout let alone an FA Cup tie.

This is a huge chance to lay down a marker, we‘ve made great strides in closing the gap and what a chance to dump them out of the cup while sitting 6 points clear at the summit.

Kick them while they’re down and make them squirm would be my message.

Important game this for a few reasons, the least of which is about the actual FA Cup for me. I think there’s a chance we could really kill Liverpool if we can beat them comfortably here. On the flip side, if they were to achieve the same feat, it could reignite their season.

Then there is also the injury factor. Ideally we would have rested some players, but we probably won’t with it being Liverpool. With our rivals all losing key players, it is crucial that we avoid injuries and maintain our full compliment in order to capitalise.

Not getting cocky but our next match in the league is Sheffield United and I would be expecting to beat them so hopefully we put out a strong team for this. The main reason is they ain’t scoring and have Spurs away next in the league don’t want to give them any confidence going into that game

    Team should be...

    ---------------Henderson---------------
    AWB--Lindelof--Maguire--Shaw
    -----McTominay-----Fred-----
    James---------VDB---------Rashford
    ------------------Martial------------------

Subs: De Gea, Tuanzebe, Bailly, Telles, Matic, Pogba, Fernandes, Greenwood, Cavani

I dont think they'll be at full strength either so that team should easily be a match for them, enough rotation to keep half the team fresh for Sheffield United on Wednesday as well

Almost same as I thought, except James in for Rashford. Our bench then can provides a lot of impactful sub options.

Klopps confirmed Salah will be starting for them which I guess was expected given he didnt start against Burnley. Expect Mane to start on the bench then

I think we must try our best to win the league this year. We have a league game on Wed. must prioritize it.

A must win game. I was pretty unhappy we didn't beat them last week, this time we need to win and build on our momentum for the rest of the season. This type of games around this time of year tend to be season changers. Let's make sure they continue their poor streak.

Re. rotation talk, i wish we had that SAF audacity to play, say, Telles and Axel in the middle of the park paying homage to the legendary Park-Fabio partnership and still beat those cnuts comfortably...

Resting players v Liverpool for a game at home to one of the worst teams ever to be in the PL ? Not having that . Granted 2/3 tomorrow changes tomorrow but nothing more it’s fecking Liverpool. We will never get a better chance to beat them .

Henderson should step in again like he did against Watford. Defense could see up to two changes in LB and Maguire's CB partner. Midfield could be a diamond or at least Fred, McTominay, and VDB. Not sure if Pogba and Bruno plays, but at the moment, Pogba probably doesn't need a rest while Bruno could do with one. Matic would matchup better against Sheffield. Across the forward line is tricky. I personally would play a diamond with Fred, McTominay, Pogba, and VDB (defend in a 4231) and pair Rashford up top with Greenwood. I think Cavani starts against Sheffield and should not start against Liverpool.

I would slightly prioritize the league game against Sheffield because the Cup draw hasn't been kind and it's a toss up. United have to play well and expended a lot of energy to beat Liverpool. Liverpool aren't scoring but have fashioned some good chances. They aren't bottom half or anything. Sheffield has played better and gotten results recently and the league is so tight at the moment, we have to keep up the pace with all the teams around us.

United have 3 matches in 7 days starting tomorrow. Sunday v Liverpool, Wednesday v Sheffield, and Saturday at Arsenal. There has to be changes every single match, no question. Then the next match against Southampton is only a few days after Arsenal...it's fecking stupid.

Nah I think the drop in quality from Rashford to James is too big for this game. Plus, Rashford didn't play the majority of the Fulham game so should be fine to play today and vs Sheffield United.

And no I am NOT a Liverpool supporter! haha - why would you say that?
