Mourinho also seemed to spend 75% of his Man. United tenure desperate to sign Eric Dier and Toby Alderweireld although I guess actual reality of working with them day in day out has softened his opinion on both.

Sacking Poch was the wrong decision as he was punching above the weight year in year out. Appointing Jose was even worse decision than sacking Poch.

The way Spurs play just reminds me of how we used to play under him. Clueless in attack, depending on individual brilliance and counters. Half hearted pressing by some players. Jose just sucks the joy out of watching football.

It's the greatest season in the history of their club, it's not a surprise that a fan can recall every little detail. I'm sure we have clearer memories of the 1999 CL quarter-final than Inter fans, for example.

He did some good stuff on Sky before his hiring by Spurs. If he focuses on that, he would be a good addition as a pundit.

I vaguely remember the Inter tie in 1999. I recall a couple of great Beckham crosses, the anticipated needle with Simeone before the OT leg and Scholesy scoring a goal and doing some sort of ‘shagging’ celebration. Mourinho is done at the top level but he was once a Great manager and I have no doubt he would have had great Career even if Porto had gone out against Us in Champions League that year Similar to Guardiola who would have gone on to have great Managerial Career even if his Barcelona team had gone out against Chelsea.
Would he have done as well as he has at Chelsea if his funds were limited? I very much doubt it. He's nothing more than a cheque book manager.

Jose usually has a good trophy winning second season before the third season meltdown. Only Spurs would skip the trophy winning part and go straight to the meltdown.
Jose might have lost the dressing room, or maybe not.. but he has definately lost the fans. They hate him and the style of play he has forced on them.
Hiring him is turning out to be a big f*** up by Spurs. Instead of bringing in someone to build on the positive platform that Poch had built, they brought in someone with a completely different style who is destroying it and taking them back to a rebuild.

He definitely did, he managed to find a club that would pay him 15M a year to destroy them from the inside.

It's just the false rhetoric that gets painted about an awful lot by people who thought he could do no wrong. He was backed plenty but had decided that he only wanted top, top quality signings - that or nothing. He had turned down Grealish, Maddison, Tielemens and many more besides in order to sign no one because he "trust(ed) the player(s)" he had. We were building a stadium even before he joined so his contempt of our financial limits was baffling.
People also ignore that it was our most successful half-season in the premier league ever after that summer, up until Jose left and he clearly wanted the United job. His head was turned and he had the convenient excuse of his 'no transfers' to hide behind.
I will always be a spurs fan well before I am a fan of a particular player or manager, so it really hacks me off that a certain section of our support choses to glorify Poch over the club when he spent his last year constructing his exit. Yes, he was one of the best we had, and yes we got to a CL final, but he was responsible for his own downfall.

Needs to reverse results sharpish, if Jose reaches the end of the season with no trophy and Spurs languishing in 10th, he is gone Id imagine. He is lucky fans are not at the grounds, He would be getting boo'd every second game the way Spurs are playing with the sit deep and defend at home nonsense. Levy gambled that Mourinho could squeeze a trophy out of the squad Pochettino left behind, rather than embark on a rebuild under a different manager. With the funds they’ve tied up in their stadium project, it made some sense to take that approach. Levy probably also liked the idea that he could do what others haven’t and persuade Mourinho to adapt to a club’s modus operandi. Safe to say the gamble hasn’t paid off and they’ve still got to rebuild their squad.

After watching them I can't see how anyone could think 4th should he realistic for them with some of the teams ahead. Arsenal coming close to them too. Chelsea squad and manager looks light years away from Jose and spurs at the moment too. Can't see how they turn it around looks like he lost the players to an extent no even parking the bus decent any more.
