Lool how he is too good for psg when he's been consistently one of our worst players in big CL games (like in the last one)??
Guys like Navas, Neymar, verratti, Marquinhos, Bernat or Di Maria have all been consistently better than him in big CL games with Paris and that's a bit embarrassing if you ask me for the 2nd most expensive player in history.
As a parisian supporter, I feel that we really shouldn't taken him in 2017 especially not for that prize considering what he gave us on the field in big CL games
Well, the way people talk about Mbappe as if he is a Messi not Ronaldo standard player.

I don't watch a great deal of Mbappe tbh, just the stats which show the vast number of goals he scores in the French league compare to the CL. Maybe he needs them competitive games week in week out.

He's not just a flat track bully. He has time to improve his record in The CL knockout stage. Lewandowski was once known as a group stage bully.

If he’s underperforming in the CL, surely that would make him more Messi than Ronaldo?
Messi is 2nd only to Ronaldo in the history of The European Cup/Champions League.

Ronaldo has 132 goals & 47 assists from 173 CL appearances
Messi has 118 goals & 41 assists from 146 CL appearances

5 wins to 4 in Ronaldo's favour.

Weird dig at Messi. He has proven his quality in the knockout stages and finals.

If you take a closer look at their stats, the gap is larger between them. Messi has scored considerably less in the knockout stages and latter rounds of the competition. Ofcourse he’s had good CL campaigns but if any comparison must be made to underperforming in the competition then that would certainly be more to Messi than Ronaldo.

How anyone can say that Messi has underperformed and still keep a straight face,is beyond me
I didn’t say he has. The poster said he’s been more Ronaldo then Messi in the CL which didn’t make sense since Ronaldo has been significantly better in that competition.

Every time we play him he never shines to what I expect but I should know better than to judge him based off head 2 heads. He was legit in his Monaco CL season, World cup and I believe he has a decent KO record

The 3rd best after Messi is Lewansdowski on 24 knockout stage goals. Messi has 47.

If we want to talk about an underwhelming CL striker, it's Luis Suárez who often underwhelmed in the competition at Barcelona. Very good the first two seasons.

Pretty good isn't he.

18 months left on his deal so will be the must have signing over the summer unless PSG are convinced he's signing for a few more years but really want to see him in one of the top leagues now.

Wish United could offer 500m and Martial. He’s too good.
PSG would want Rashford imo if Neymar isn't signing a new deal either (although reports were he was going to).

Seems PSG are the favourites for Messi currently but I dunno dosen't quite seem the right fit on the field for what Poch will want even with all he brings off the pitch.

Everything he does is generally huge quality. He can have off games but it's never bad touches or unable to pass the ball it's normally because the other team have just not given him any space.

Very good tonight. Much better on the sides as a wide forward, as opposed to a target striker.

Be interesting to see where he ends up next season.

Seriously hate that he's in Ligue 1, same with Neymar. Have a feeling they would both be considered in the top 3 players in the world (as a consensus) right now if they were in another league.

His value should be 150-200 mil. I can't see a club who could pay this these days tbh.

He has less than 18 months on his current deal. If they sell him it will be for a lot less than that.

Still at a loss of how PSG bought him and Neymar. Remember FFP?

It's a real shame those two play in such a shitty league.

Whoever does get him next they will have a future Balon d'OR winner in there team,

In this next generation of young players currently I only see Haaland as a competitor, 22 years old, still 5-6 years away from entering his peak :houllier:
