We are completely devoid of a plan to beat the bigger teams. Same old dire football. No one stood out.
But we are also devoid against the bottom teams. So are we only good against the ones mid table?

Goldilocks team.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
We need to improve massively on the ball to get where we want to be but we were set up fine and it’s a good result if we beat Palace in mid-week. Mctominay really should have found rashford at the end for a tap in.

Good point against an in form Chelsea side at home. Shame we didnt nick it but great work across the 11 today to match their press.

A little more attacking intent would be nice to see in these games next year. Hopefully with a couple of additions Ole can come out of his shell a little against the big boys.

Not enough quality in MF. When you have two limited players like Fred and McT playing against better teams away from home you will struggle.

Today just showed how much we need a top centre forward, a younger Cavani to sniff the half chance, someone for Bruno to pass to. It wore Haaland, he’ll end up at City or Chelsea. All our youngsters, Amad and the rest are strikers and certainly not tough enough yet for the PL. I thought Bruno looked tired and cheesed off tonight. The penalty saga is just another chapter in the ABU story. Couldn’t be any clearer that Hudson -Odi handled it, can see why people disagree. Ref didn’t award it in case he upset Klopp and Sourness.

We were the better team in the 1st half and Chelsea were slightly better in the 2nd. I was really getting frustrated with McT giving the ball away the last 25 minutes or so and I thought surely Matic would come on for him.

- Defense was very solid and DDG even played well.
- Wish Bruno had been a little sharper and we might have scored with a couple of better passes
- James was better than what Martial would have done.
- Greenwood held up the ball better than Martial would have done and got a good shot off.
- We miss Pogba and I hope he is back next weekend.

Good that Ole recognises our poor ball retention though I feel that will only be improved upon with a more classy type of player/s.
Summer is big chance to bring in some quality first team options. The base is now there with the squad choices.

1 point better off over 3rd and 4th, 2 points worse off from 1st, no change over 5th with 12 games left to go. Have to take that I suppose. Secure 2nd, go all out for the FA & Europa and look to next season and I'll be relatively happy.

We're like zombies in the opponents goal area, if Bruno's not playing well we ain't got a clue how to score.

Who was the referee?
Stuart Attwell. Who was as shit as usual. Not just the penalty VAR farce, but several times we had a player hacked down (James mainly) whilst breaking. Waving play on isn't always an advantage when one of your attackers has been taken out. To compound things, he didn't even go back and book the offenders, whilst both Fred and Maguire were booked for innocuous first fouls.

We've been on the wrong end of some shocking refereeing at Stamford Bridge over the years. Makes you wonder if the refs are afraid of being given a polonium souvenir.

I thought he played well, best of the front three. He's technically not good enough though, but I can see why he played and why Ole was pleased with him. Slightly tragic its come to this, being happy with our RW putting in a display like that.
That's the biggest tragedy of all. Nobody is even expecting anything useful to come from our RW.

How can we expect him to see a penalty when he cannot see if a ball goes in the net or not.

He was good in the first half though and everyone seem to drop off in the second half.
He was ok. He’s not good enough. Do you think he’d be starting this game at any other big club?

Exactly, or when Huddersfield's Terence Kolongo absolutely flattened a young McTominay in the penalty area at Old Trafford a few years ago. Absolute stonewall penalty and red card, but Attwell, who had a perfect view of the incident, froze and did nothing, before eventually stopping play when it was obvious that McT was laid out.

Lacked a little hunger but happy with the point. A proper cf would make such a difference to this team.

We’re going to need more quality in key areas if we want to turn these 0-0s against the top six into 1-0 wins.

Greenwood still young and learning. James did OK today but we all know his limitations. Martial anonymous when he came on. Not going to start an argument on Rashford but ineffective again.

To say our defence gets absolutely hammered, we have scored 0 goals this season against Arsenal (twice), City, Chelsea (twice) and Liverpool. The defence did their part as well today by playing very high so not like the forwards have that excuse.

For me, in a big game, especially away, the midfield and the defence are entitled to think their job is done if they keep a clean sheet. The front three and Bruno have to do better.

Why didn't McTominay square it on the second or third touch across the front of the defenders?
WHY?
Also:
The state of that Ref decision: HE makes the movement with his hand flicking it. Unnatural

Forgot about Scottie. He is a referee that does not want to make controversial decisions. Yet is best known for making a controversial decision.

Of course. We might be defensively less compact, but we'd get less pressure as McTom and Fred kept giving the ball away.
That is our biggest fault, it leads quite often to us conceding and not getting even more goals at the other end. We are extremely wasteful with possession in the midfield and our forward players.

Think you summed up the game for me, from a United point of view.

Not as disappointed as some on here. We took the game to them and pressed them right up the pitch. Thought we performed well in most departments. So many times we had 3 or 4 attackers in full flow going forward in possession and failed when we got near their penalty box. MacT had a great chance to play that final ball to Rashford and we'd have come away with 3pts. On the whole good performance. If we could get Mason to step up a level which I know he will, we'd be bangin em in.

Was always going to be 0-0.

Chelsea should have had a pen at OT, we should have had one today... So I guess it's all fair?
Thats not how it works. And even if it was, it still wouldn’t be “fair”.
1-0 win + 0-1 defeat = 3 points.
0-0 + 0-0 = 2 points.

Progress? We have won 4 of the last 10. This game is the same story, no plan b, ole does not trust his bench, he dont change the team, bruno is tired, rashford off form, martial is cruising through life, Greenwood looks lost, we play two holding midfielders, both cannot pass and there is no urgency when it is needed. I will just be happy with top 4, but we are making this much harder for ourselves than it should be.
Read my post again. I agree with you.

Why are people saying the referee made a mistake? He didn't make a mistake. It was a deliberate decision. He robbed us.

We are going to get DESTROYED by Man City if Pogba and Cavani do not come back soon. Martial is useless and Greenwood isn't much better. We simply don't have enough to score in big games. Rashford and Bruno can't do it every game.
Not at all. They will just setup as before at OT and take the 0-0. This is the issue for us, teams know how poor we are unless they push players up and chase the game against us.

We’ve become the dull game of the top four contender’s calendars, the Wolves of the clubs chasing CL football. The only team to try and take us on was Leicester and that even ended a draw. This isn’t what United should ever be about.

We need Pogba's ceativity from deep, badly. Mediocre showing but whatever. Typical United this season. Still 2nd somehow.

Missing a few match winners is not helping...hopefully Cavani and Pogba will be back soon.

We didn't deserve any more than a point to be fair.

Things that DID bother me though

1/ OGS seemingly settling for a point whilst Tuchel was already making 3 subs to try and win the game.
2/ Further confirmation that we will not win the league EVER if we believe Rashford and/or Martial are our first choice strikers.
3/ Mason Greenwood walking off when being substituted giving further strength to the argument that we had been schooled to get a point here and not a win
4/ OGS-beaming at Fred's missed shot....WTF?

Football is meant to be fun isn’t it, everything is so serious now, have a laugh occasionally.
there’s history with Ole and Fred’s right foot andthe shot wasn’t far off, worth a smile I thought

The ref allowing fouls was terrible. Watch at around 41.25 of the match he sees a guy trip James off the ball, was going to blow but waves play on. It’s as blatant a yellow you can witness but he doesn’t book him
