Championship level player though according to some.
Then where did the 45m come from? You created an imaginary scenario that wasn't part of the discussion.Well it’s probably a more realistic transfer fee for a player in Lingard’s position than £50 million.
I think the main angle should be using Lingard to drive the price down of Rice to a point that leaves the transfer budget able to get him and then Sancho as well. That would be a brilliant duo to add to the starting XI.
There's no planet where Lingard is worth £50m. Come on mate you're getting carried away. You've literally got a player who's easily worth £50mil minimum and you're hoping to sell for half the value.
Regardless of your opinion of whether he should be sold or not, selling for £25mil is a bad bit if business.
So I repeat, thank feck you're not in charge of transfers.
There's 3 players who can play in his position, Bruno, VDB and Mata, with Mejbri needing some first team outings as well.Incredible that 90% of these posts here when Jesse does well is “how much are we gonna get for him” rather than “I hope he can force his way back into the squad now”
....& yet half this forum complain when we don’t have quality in depth, beggers belief.
And for reference, Robin van fecking Persie cost less with 1 year on his contract.Yeah logic, we'll sell the experienced player in the form of his life for absolute peanuts whilst keep the likes of VDB as back up to Bruno.
Consider that selling isn't actually the wisest course of action, especially at 25 fecking million.
For reference, Fred cost double that.
When it comes to football, I'm almost always right, and I say that with no shame He is a joy to watch when he is at full flow.I’ve always backed his ability but he’s a major confidence player. The kind of player that is better off at a club with less exposure and pressure.
Revived a player's career? This loan was the best thing we've ever done for him. The question now is whether or not he's still hungry to succeed here.Jesus christ what have we done.

He said £50 million minimum in a different post. So I chose the next incremental value down from that. Then where did the 45m come from? You created an imaginary scenario that wasn't part of the discussion.

I’d take Jesse over MataThere's 3 players who can play in his position, Bruno, VDB and Mata, with Mejbri needing some first team outings as well.
What rubbishLingard might be the best player in the league right now
You're using a transfer fee from 10 years ago and you're gonna question my knowledge of how fees work? And for reference, Robin van fecking Persie cost less with 1 year on his contract.
What’s your point? Outside of not understanding how transfer fees work.
Definitely, take the 25 mill that his new found form with easily guarantee us and let him continue to flourish at West Ham next season.Personally I’d sell him for the decent fee we can command. There’s a chance he could come back and be great but I think there’s a bigger chance he’d revert back to his very patchy form.
Funny I was about to say the same to you.. you often don't look at or simply ignore the context of the conversation when you butt in, and create an entirely different scenario. If you wanted to ask a specific question out of context, try bolding the sentence you are referring to.He said £50 million minimum in a different post. So I chose the next incremental value down from that.
Look for context before you go round looking to criticise.
Same as you mate. Unfortunately Mata isn't going anywhere considering the rumours he's signing a year extension.I’d take Jesse over Mata
Yeah it’s nuts. We have an opportunity to add one of the best PL attacking players this season to our squad for nothing and everyone is wondering how much money we can sell him for which we may or may not spend on a new signing who may or may not thrive in the Premier League.Incredible that 90% of these posts here when Jesse does well is “how much are we gonna get for him” rather than “I hope he can force his way back into the squad now”

agreed in total. There's no planet where Lingard is worth £50m. Come on mate you're getting carried away.
He's approaching 30, 1 year left on his contract in a post Covid transfer market, he's always been wildly inconsistent over the years and will be looking a club to give him something approaching the £100k+ he currently gets.
No clubs paying £50m for Lingard, if we get £20-25m off the back of his recent good form. It would be a fantastic bit of business as going off his last two years of form we would have been lucky to get £10-15m for him.
You surely understand that players perform very differently in different team and team stature set ups.Yeah logic, we'll sell the experienced player in the form of his life for absolute peanuts whilst keep the likes of VDB as back up to Bruno.

He’s coped fine with being a squad player in the past. What has hasn’t coped well with were life circumstances that had nothing to do with football, then being completely frozen out this season.Glad he’s doing well.
But anybody who thinks he comes back here to sit on the bench (which he will) and then replicate what he’s doing at West Ham is off their rocker.
He is doing well there because he’s full of confidence and playing every week. Coming back to United to play in a squad role and come under huge pressure when asked to fill in for the first team will put him right back to square one.
Less of the revisionism, folks. Put this down as a great move for all parties and let him go for an acceptable fee.
Lingard's play is a big reason why Bruno was a need.Jesus christ what have we done.
