ANNOUNCED: The Super League official statement
This. This is where some of you people are missing a beat. The PL is only competitive because teams have an incentive to make CL each year which makes them money.
What about the long term? What about the football pyramid where the Premier League's massive financial power trickles down (even in a small way) all the way to the smallest teams in the farthest parts of the country? So what if United join this Superb League? A few fancy games, great commercial opportunities, gain loads of dosh, players come back to England covered in gold, hey United did you get a haircut, look closer Lenny, bloody fantastic and everyone's a winner. Who are Sunderland? The team playing against the guys who hammered AC Milan in a 1-1 draw in Peru across the road from Ian's burger van.
Anyone who doesn't see the greatness of this whole plan is a total idiot.
I didn't expect an annoucement. The aftermath is going to be fun.It is done.

Maybe not but they just have to think it will to act. They wouldn't win votes.
Haha brilliant, that's the death of UEFA and the CL then. Your turn FA, gonna kick us out now??It is done.

No, not necessarily. The NHL for example has a draft age that precedes college, and the vast majority of its draftees are out of the Canadian Major Junior Leagues or Europe.Aren't drafts based on a college system though?
It's totally unrealistic to expect a draft system in football where clubs produce players through their own academy. There would be no incentive to invest in player development.
Get the popcorn. Who are the additional three? Bayern, Ajax, PSG?I didn't expect an annoucement. The aftermath is going to be fun.
Sure but I don't believe they think it will. I think they think posturing now will play well and no one will care that they don't go through with it.Maybe not but they just have to think it will to act.
What absolute, fecking bullshit. The Glazers, obviously, not your comment.Tweet

Lovely lovely Glazers
PSG, Bayern and Dortmund if I'm not mistaken.Get the popcorn. Who are the additional three? Bayern, Ajax, PSG?
100% that or a late invite for Burnley.Any guesses on who the next three automatic spots will go to?
Are they hoping PSG and Bayern get twitchy and want to jump aboard now the heavy lifting is done?
