As sir Alex has said, my club Everton are about to spend 500 million on a new stadium, i hope Everton don't forget this betrayal and come out blasting these clubs

They’ll come to an agreement eventually , life goes on , if you don’t want to watch Utd don’t bother. Plenty of other sports to watch.
Come to what agreement? Answer the question why are you so supportive of this instead of sitting on your high horse.

We’re in it to win it. The idea of celebrating 4th was bollocks too.
And if we couldn't win it ? Like this season for example when we were out of the race mostly by Jan ? What would be the rest of the league games mean for us ? Absolutely nothing.

Does anyone know/suppose why PSG have not accepted yet?
I think their owners own a majority share in Bein sports which has the rights to telecast CL in many countries. Leaving the CL would be counter productive for them. It's just a theory mind you, could be wrong.

I hope Pep, Klopp, Ole and co. all hand in their resignations in the morning and every player at every club hands in a transfer request.

I was against it but actually, what should I care about as a consumer? Some random club like Burnley who might struggle or my own pocket?

Im torn the more I think of it, for the sake of argument, imagine Amazon get exclusive rights and all games are shown on prime. I’m immediately saving a shed load of money and so I’d say, as selfish as it is, I don’t care about Burnley I care about me not being fleeced by BT and Sky.

You failed to respond to my earlier post? You seem to be awfully in favour of this. Explain why you think this is good for fans?

Are you getting paid for this propaganda?
Sorry, must have missed it.

As United fan's we want to see our team compete against the best of the best and win, yeah beating Burnley is great but what about that Paul Scholes goal against Barcelona? For the random fan, is Tottenham vs Juventus not a better game than Leipzig vs some random Turkish side? We're talking elite football here, nothing else like this on the planet in terms of ability and prestige and we're part of it.

The money will be reinvested into the club and spent on players/stadium/coaching staff, whatever. Most of it will probably go on transfers as we'll have to pay a SL tax on top of a United tax when we sign a player so most of that money will filter into the leagues anyway.

This is a win for everyone.

The funniest thing of all it's likely Neville's rant that has played a huge part in whipping up this frenzy, a rant he made while on a shift with the wonderfully pure Sky Sports.
Reading some of the comments you’d think the Super League just decided football will now be played using only hands .
These clubs have realized they have all the power and are tired of UEFA and FIFAs corruption. The CL is a great competition because of these clubs, without them it’s shit. UEFA is realizing this means the end of their corrupt organization and will stand to lose a lot of $$$. League play will continue and instead of playing to qualify for CL, teams will now qualify for the SL. Yes, Arsenal may not be at the top of the league but no one outside of England is paying to watch West Ham or Leicester. The same as when United were sixth and Leicester was winning the league.

I meant for the clubs in this competition obviously.

Why would us, United fans, give a shit where we're finishing when top 4 just doesn't matter any more? It makes following the league and being passionate about the results totally pointless.
It's not top four - we want to win it.

I dunno. This just seems an alternative to the CL.

The sponsors are gonna go with the big clubs so I reckon, the domestic leagues organisations, UEFA etc will come to some compromise with these clubs.

Some people happy to ditch the champions League for a yearly set of glorified friendlies.
This is basically the CL, its just a strong England pack that makes qualification for 4 odd teams a contest. These names are in it every year anyway.
Its a disgusting idea but with so many sides having so much money, an even contest among the elite could be amazing. Lets be honest, they arent signing up to this to spent 300m on a player. The talent isnt going away neither so a cap on spend across the board could see genuine sporting contests break out of this rather than what we have today.

The problem with our leagues and Uefa kicking us out of tournaments is that The Super League pricks will just invite 5 more clubs and set up a full league. They'll then invite sides from around the world to form a World Club Cup to replace the midweek "European" competition.

They're not going to play less games or do anything to risk their money making.

Lots of talk on twitter that all those clubs will be suspended from premier League next season. Whether this actually happens is anyone's guess but you gotta think it's possible.
It's possible but sadly Uefa and the PL will cave. They can't honour their contracts with sponsors without those 12 clubs. Not to mentions broadcasters who've paid billions to show these teams play.

Our players died to play in the European Cup and now we're going to abandon that to be part of an unimpeachable cabal of rich twats. It's a disgraceful insult to our history. The Glazers want to dismantle everything we've ever worked for.
Come on Boris - do one decent thing and kick out Glazers

Tried to opt out of my United Membership renewal through the website but can't.

What should I send in my email asking to be opted out? Keep in mind that the people answering the email won't be Ed Woodward or the Glazers.

Only way to fight this type of thing is for everyone to join in not watching the super league matches. Sadly it probably won't happen.

Yeah, well if couldn't ? If we're out of title race early like pretty much the last several years, how are we going to treat the rest of the league games ? Glorified pre-season to prepare for this competition ?

Give peas a chance.
It seems as if this is another midweek competition, they aren’t leaving the Premier League, this new competition is just a way for these clubs to make more money (more exposure, sponsorships etc)

I don’t quite understand the uproar on a domestic level. I seriously doubt this will make these clubs less focused on their domestic league. The better they do in each competition, the more money they make (which is the point of the game these days)

I think Sky (as an example) and other media outlets are up in arms because it damages them financially, not so much the game itself.
The beauty of the model as it currently stands (in principle) is that any team can reach that highest pinnacle of playing in Europe, no matter their standing on the world stage, or how much money they make. This new league creates a sport of have and have-nots, where it becomes nigh-on impossible for other teams to break into that top 'echelon'... fecking founders, whatever those c*nts are calling themselves. It's elitist and exclusionary, and goes against the fundamentals of the game.

Football should be a sport for all, not just for the wealthy elite few. It's not a competition, it's a glorified rich-team circle jerk.

That was special because it was the semi final of the CL. Think of the effort it took to win the title the seaosn before to qualify for the CL then the struggle to get to the final.

It's special when we play one of these super clubs because it's rare.

Playing barcelona and Juventus every fecking season immediately takes away any feelings of it being special. How do you not see this?

I'm gonna watch. I think most people will too, even if they feel bitter about it.

Nah they died because the fa were a bunch of cnuts.
They didn't die to play in Europe, they died because the football league wouldn't postpone their game and threatened to dock points if United weren't in the UK by a certain time before kick off.
Point is, we've sacrificed more than most to be part of the European Cup/CL. So many of our best (and worst) memories come from playing in a tournament that we were determined to join for sporting rather than economic reasons but we're ignoring all that because our scumbag owners want to line their pockets by joining this soulless fecking charade.

It's a total abomination.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.

That’s the same for most of the fecking league. And what football used to be like before 4th were allowed into the CL so UEFA could earn shit tons of money.
