sure, i heard in the NFL they also moved some teams, just moved them to different states. You think we will still be based in Manchester in 10 years. Feck all this.
Can see OT being sold off. The first thing they will do though is get naming rights. Get as much money in as possible.

I'd just have two helicopters instead of three.

Feck Messi, Ronaldo, De Gea, Haaland and all the rest of the greedy bastards (also stupidly driven by/allowing agents to blackmail clubs... especially that fat pizza munching tw@t).

It's easy to say this was owners not players (it was) but I don't care any more. Owners, players, agents, sponsors... all fair game now because it's them or the sport/club I've loved for half a century.
Completely agree. Even if it's the owners fault I'll lose tons of respect for anyone in football who doesn't speak up against this league. Silence gives consent.

PL should leak an idea saying well promote 2 more teams from the championship over the next two seasons, plus lower leagues incl non league and level out the 86 remaining clubs plus 2 extra to 4 leagues of 21. Suggest they'll just move on.
I think they could do that. There are enough well supported clubs in the Championship.

This is the worst part of it, the owners run the machinations and they don't do interviews while the players and managers are infront of a mic twice a week or more having to answer on behalf of the owners.
Fan loyalties aside, you had to feel for Klopp being the first one in front of the cameras after the announcement.

He must be absolutely fuming with the owners.

Most people outside the UK support the 'Top 6' (I know not currently). The PL rights would probably be worth 10% of what they are now. And the Top 6 can have a breakaway top 6 league or invite the Glasgow teams and pick up probably 100% of the PL money that's currently on offer.
I don’t think many people care how many spin off leagues they try to create unless it’s competitive with meaning at the end of the season what’s the point in it?

So, a rich club that brings money in but finishes dead last gets offered a place but a team who out preforms them but brings in little revenue gets relegated?
It doesn't have to be black or white in the sense that I don't think that they will invite any team that brings little revenue in the first place but I definitely think that who gets offered a share will depend on who brings the most revenue through a combination of market pool and entertainment value. And the 5 invitees are auditioning for those shares.

The plans are a complete mess, just like this whole sorry launch. This reads like someone at United/Liverpool (presumed ring leaders and drivers of this league) trying desperately to keep the other clubs in line. If City/Chelsea go, the whole thing collapses very quickly in my opinion.

The worst part of this whole thing is that we are probably only 2nd to Madrid in being the driving force behind this, I'd much rather be one of the 14 teams left behind rebuilding the Premier league.

Have to hope for some contractual point that voids contracts etc meaning its not feasible to take off.

They just built a stadium on 100% loan debt that they're only making the interest payments on
This makes you wonder the real intentions of building this stadium, did they know the SP was coming and they were preparing for it, knowing the Billions to be made would wipe their debt?

Meanwhile Old Trafford Crumbles, I guess the Glaziers just want to pocket every last penny.

A cabal of mismanaged Spanish clubs on the brink of financial ruin and filthy rich foreign owners seeking to further line their own pockets.

England’s third most successful club don’t have more history than loads of other clubs?
My point (perhaps clumsily put) was that there are other clubs with a lot of history. Villa and Nottingham Forrest have won the European Cup (something Arsenal haven't done), for example. Everton have won league titles.

Are Arsenal, on current form (and over the last few years) more deserving that other PL clubs who have a history too?

I for one am ready to adopt a new English club

Hard to say, it would obviously worth less, but never 10%. The rights are currently around £1.5bn per year... you'd probably be looking at half I think, as the EPL brand alone would still be a thing and a big deal.

Looking locally...

Sky pay £200m per year for Prem rights.

They pay roughly £120m per year for Championship rights.

So it certainly won't be 10% locally at least.

I'd love to see the Government find a way to ban the English clubs from joining and this circus was just Barcalona and Madrid playing Juve every season and a bunch of other games no one gives a shit about.

Having the so called top 20 clubs( whom ever they may be) doesn’t guarantee exciting matches. With no relegation or promotion it will just become like the MLB or NFL where if you’re bottom and shite so be it, there’ll just be an overhaul of staff and players and support for you to get major players the following season.
A draft in football for the ESL is the next step
Seems super boring to me. I actually really like the current CL format and don't really see much need for a change but I'm open to adjustments, I just can't believe there are posters on here happy with the ESL.

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
It's a weak and empty statement, at the same time praising the CL reform which points in the same direction as this SL bullshit.
Could it have been harder, condemning the proposal... yes.

Could he have said nothing at all... yes.

I'll take this as a good start, especially given it's clearly the biggest club in world football who are not part of the 12.

And yes, revised CL proposals may not be ideal but they're not a closed super league either so right now, if it's a choice between "so so" and "end of my sport as I know it and end of my association with United", I'll take the former.

They’re really scared now though and it shows. Feck them. They created this. Time they had a taste of their own medicine.
Dont try and act like your support of this garbage is because you want to see Sky get their just desserts. You only care about Ronaldo and Messi and watching highlight reels instead of actual football, its OK to admit that.

Any evidence to back that up?

Id say COVID has had more of an influence over all this, Levy had created a lot in the new stadium as a way to earn extra income that really so far hasn't been really used.

Serie A Assembly: "With this much extra money we can't possibly compete with Inter, Milan and Juventus", to which Agnelli replied with: "I see no change, we've been winning for 80 years".

all the utd players very quiet on twitter, none of them posted since the 18th. Ed probably told them not to
United are quite about this on their twitter. Last I checked neither us or City have posted anything to social media just our club websites.
