Are you American? I got selected once in the UK, but I was a student so got relieved - took about 30 mins.
What's happening with the other cops who were involved?
If only there were crowds in sports in this country tonight, especially basketball.
This is just the start, justice for George Floyd's family for sure, but it needs to be a turning point, don't make this the exception - hold all these murdering thugs to account in every occasion.

Sort of. It was a murder trial so we were asked many questions. Both sides get a set number of rejections so it doesn't go on too long.
Not if this trial was taking place in Dogfeck, Alabama. Or most other places between the coasts.
Hopefully this trial has set the legal precedence and prosecutors feel more comfortable in taking a cop to court.

Well today has been great.
I felt sad. Justice is necessary, and so is the solemnity in the proceedings. But there's no joy in the overall fact that an innocent person is dead and the guilty person is going to jail, I'd much rather neither of those things had to happen.
I was on a murder trail in the UK six months ago. 18 initially picked, all went back into the jury room and then final 12 were selected randomly (I think). No questions at all asked other than if we knew anyone related to the case

Great result, hope the momentum can carry on, these thugs hiding behind badges and uniforms have been getting away with it for too long.
Articulate chatter box girl on the WP stream right then just made a great point that this verdict can be incredibly powerful going forward in that Police will no longer feel that they are not accountable for their actions and might just think twice.

I want it to, but it took a crystal clear 9 minute video of a man literally having the life choked out of him, in order for it to happen.
Not every situation will be as literal & clear cut - but with this precedent set hopefully more accountability & transparency happens in other situations.

Van Jones was just making a similar point about the fact that the police chief testified against Chauvin in this case and hopefully more cops will speak up in future.

Seems far too sensible. When you see Hollywood films/ tv go through jury selection, it is just absurd.
Here’s hoping. They need to get some momentum now, the officer that shot Adam Toledo needs to get her just desserts too.
