Because he's human and you have the capability for empathy. Ultimately I don't relish exposing anyone to the American correctional system, but he's done a lot worse.

Ultimately at the end of the day such behavior needs to have consequences and finally a cop gets actually punished. Chauvin has a long time to think hard and deep about what he did. It's his own fault really.
