Next up should be the CL changes. I think I've heard that they've now provisioned some clubs can get in just on merit of having a good record and not necessarily needing to qualify? If that's true it deserves a similar reaction to the super league.

This is next level of 'amateurish' from some of the biggest clubs in the world. Irony of ironies, club that comes out looking good from this is the biggest sugar daddy of them all. Go figure.....

Weren't Chelsea one of the first of the PL to reportedly jump ship, why are they the last to put out a statement?

Are Spurs saying nothing, hoping nobody will notice they’re still part of the Super League?
They've tweeted as well. Talking about wanting to be part of the process or whatever. Said sorry for the anxiety it caused. Posted earlier in this thread.

Yeah, the new version of the CL looks like an absolute abomination.
It's so craply complicated, apart from anything else. It's not a proper league.

I'm not even completely against changing the CL, even if there is not a lot wrong with it... but the proposals looks so ill thought-out to me.

They were exploring legals before confirming. City were first to confirm.

They all need to be ousted.

They're backtracking not because they care what fans think, but they know they have to find a sustainable way of continuing to rip us off without governments getting involved.

One of them needs to stay in, so that they can be top AND bottom of their own league. Sounds like something Juventus would do.

Finished first. Wooooo.
Finished bottom, though. :(
Can't get relegated! Lets goooooo.

They're trying to figure out what's the way to earn most points - do they apologise, keep it short or what? PR team in heavy discussions probably.

I am not sure why these clubs think that 300 million per club for a pretty random selection of clubs who will continue to play domestically is good for the sustainabililty of football?

We need less money being spent (or the money better divided), not more... CL participation is too decisive, and Super League participation would be even worse!

It's great news it's gone, but the money factor in football is still there...

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
Those FSG Yanks oversaw Liverpool reclaiming the title after 3 decades but are now facing calls for them to leave the club. How do you even screw up so badly?
You take greedy owners and mix in some stupid American businessmen (American posters on here are fine) who show their complete ignorance for the world's love of football and how passionately we feel about it.

Then put Perez in charge.
@BeforeKeanetherewasRobson To be fair, Spurs' statement is probably one of the more shameless ones:

Levy's basically saying that he liked the idea of the SL and wasn't expecting the negative response.
Basically they're all shite (Levy's a gobshite smartarse), they tried something terrible, their apologies are awful and I'm just glad it's over. I was in a very bad place two days ago ... heartbroken at the thought of stopping supporting United (I will never support a super league).

But this will hopefully turn out to be the start of something good, see some changes we need/want. Ironic?

Drinks are on me!

Absolutely pathetic and piss poor statement from Liverpool. Two short paragraphs, not even a smidge of an apology towards Klopp, the players or the fans. Feck off FSG, the sooner the better.
