Exactly how i read the letter to. Feck em all.

Btw, what is ”shills”? Never seen the word before the last couple of days and now i see it all the time on here.
Shills are paid by companies/business’ to pose as fans to try and sway other customers/fans into having a positive opinion of something.

I’d take multiple relegations to get rid of them if the option was on the table right now.

I don’t use the word hate very often but that’s what I feel towards this shark and his family. They are inhuman.

Can stick that apology where the sun don't shine as far as I'm concerned

It’s a well-written piece. Last ditch attempt to save their skins. The grass is always not greener with owners unfortunately.

Your right, imagine if we would end up with owners who would put the club into debt, take out millions in dividends each year without paying off the debt, let the stadium rot to such an extent that during live tv there is footage of the stadium roof leaking, and then trying to destroy and rape our history and heritage for the almighty dollar.

Yeah, thankfully we don't have those kind of owners.. wait...

That's a good redeeming letter from the heart! Shows their true nature and makes a mockery of any ill opinion one might have had of them. Time to get behind the owners I say......

Yeah this letter is just a pathetic attempt at trying to cover up for dragging our name through the mud, I am also not going to be won over if you try and offer to spend more money in the summer either

We already know what they think about the club by now, cash cow, no respect, etc, so no one needs a dishonest apology right now, just say nothing and continue as normal, far better.

Feck off. The pressure needs to be directed to removing these leeches while we have the momentum.

I ain't reading it. Just leave cnut. Hope the government go forward with some 50+1 rule. Not sure how or if it's even legal
The German's have it so it has to be legal. Its simple, you don't get a license unless you're 50% +1 share owned by the supporters. Our problem would be how massive we've become, we'd need 1.5 million fans to guarantee £1K each to buy back the 50% +1.

I'm surprised we even got this much from him.

If they didn't understand it would be unpopular (or gauge just how badly it would be received) why didn't they notify staff, players or fan forums prior to the announcement. They knew what they were doing, they knew it was driven by greed and they thought it would just be lapped up.

Utterly pathetic.
He's rattled because he knows without us he has an asset worth about 1% of feck all.

The notion of the pyramid is bizarre.

It seems to suggest that rich clubs have an altruistic obligation to assist in ensuring the long-term financial wellbeing of the sport whilst completely overlooking the role of smaller clubs in enriching the game.

Yeah I think it shows you that they truly believe that the path they were on was the right one - hence the apology basically being meaningless.

To be fair, references to this inherently acknowledge that the top of the pyramid is supported by and could not exist without the lower levels.

I don't read anything into that apology. Unless we now get a proper football man like Edwin VDS in the CEO role from outside the club, the Glazers should be thrown out.

The Glazers need to be build lots of bridges - by begining with paying down our debts to make sure the club is not hanging by the thread on the revenue front.

However, I don't think demands to get them out will get us anywhere - as they are sitting on an expensive asset which cant be liquidated easily.

I think the fans should get together and start a manifesto which we should submit to the ownership, in response to the "open letter".

We should ask for an open consultation with the owners with the following items to discuss:

- Appointment of new CEO
- Plan to reduce debt over 2-3 years.
- Dividend restrictions to ensure annual cash flow for footballing goals
- stadium restoration (to bring it up to state of the art quality)
- reducing season ticket prices (match going fans should think about this) or separate quotas/ concessions for 18 years or below

We are the club that generates massive amounts of money, and there is enough to go around to ensure both the Glazers and the fans are happy.

In my mind - even a 30% reduction in their dividends can transform our clubs competitiveness on the pitch.

Lots of good points but to be fair my understanding is that ticket prices had been frozen for quite a while.

Frozen ticket prices don't make a difference as they are very expensive to begin with.

Also, as a fan in India - I know I have to pay at least 200 quid to watch a game. Id also like aa quota for travelling fans but I don't think our larger fan base will be open to that.

Let's make football more sustainable by having 15 completely untouchable teams who'll get five teams to demolish each year. Great fecking idea!

I mean how fecking out of touch can a person be?

Maybe fans who are interested in this and fans who follow the financial aspects of the club more closely can DM me, and we can start putting this together?

Am a lawyer by profession, so can definitely write out the letter but don't have the expertise or enough information to get it right without help :)

True but there is a veneer of inauthenticity to it all. Their acknowledgement sounds mechanical and forced even.

And there is an inherent irony in their proposal: instead of working with smaller clubs, they have decided that working alone in an elitist bubble is the better way forward.

"We continue to believe that European football needs to become more sustainable throughout the pyramid for the long-term. However, we fully accept that the Super League was not the right way to go about it."

We know that means, "it didn't work this time, but we'll try again soon". That voids everything else in your statement.

To all Manchester United supporters,

Over the past few days, we have all witnessed the great passion which football generates, and the deep loyalty our fans have for this great club.

You made very clear your opposition to the European Super League, and we have listened. We got it wrong, and we want to show that we can put things right.
Although the wounds are raw and I understand that it will take time for the scars to heal, I am personally committed to rebuilding trust with our fans and learning from the message you delivered with such conviction.

We continue to believe that European football needs to become more sustainable throughout the pyramid for the long-term. However, we fully accept that the Super League was not the right way to go about it.

In seeking to create a more stable foundation for the game, we failed to show enough respect for its deep-rooted traditions –promotion, relegation, the pyramid – and for that we are sorry.
This is the world’s greatest football club and we apologise unreservedly for the unrest caused during these past few days.
It is important for us to put that right.

Manchester United has a rich heritage and we recognise our responsibility to live up to its great traditions and values.
The pandemic has thrown up so many unique challenges and we are proud of the way Manchester United and its fans from Manchester and around the world have reacted to the enormous pressures during this period.

We also realise that we need to better communicate with you, our fans, because you will always be at the heart of the club.
In the background, you can be sure that we will be taking the necessary steps to rebuild relationships with other stakeholders across the game, with a view to working together on solutions to the long-term challenges facing the football pyramid.

Right now, our priority is to continue to support all of our teams as they push for the strongest possible finish to the season.
In closing, I would like to recognise that it is your support which makes this club so great, and we thank you for that.

With best regards,
Joel Glazer

This is just to appease the fans. They're worried about a fan revolt and any possible impact on the share price it might create.
They can feck right off
