I’m keen to learn the direction we think our squad and first 11 should take in terms of attackers. We haven’t brought any forwards in their prime since Ole started. I think Cavani highlights how valuable a proven forward with the right motivation can be.

So if we had the option of selling Pogba and Martial and replacing them with Grealish and Kane would you take it.

Let’s leave the money out of it for a bit because it should be achievable with the addition of £50 million

Possible main front four goes from this

Pogba, Martial, Greenwood, Rashford, Cavani, Bruno.

To this:

Kane, Grealish, Rashford, Cavani, Bruno, Greenwood

If we can retain Pogba, that will be ideal. Also, I don't think its a sellers market so don't think we can get a decent value for Martial. With Cavani around for another year, again, don't think we should splash the money on Kane.

If VDB was really not Ole's chosen player; a specialist player that Ole can't get the best out of then its him who should be replaced for Grealish.

Keep Pogba
Sell Martial

I’d get a RW, CB or a top level defensive midfielder

If we did these transfers and I know it’s difficult but I think we become the most potent attacking side in the league for 2-3 years.

Cavani, Kane, Grealish, Bruno, Greenwood, Rashford.

I mean the chance creation, creativity, assists and goal scoring becomes phenomenal.

The average age of those from 6 would be 26 next year which is tantalising.

No place for Kane with Cavani signing a new deal. Signing Kane now would risk Greenwood's development as a CF.

Why get rid of Pogba? Surely Van De Beek or Mata should go. Still, I can't imagine Grealish wanting to sign for United when Van De Beek and Mata struggle to get game time.

I'd be all for it. It's the type of moves the likes of Real Madrid and Chelsea would make. Sell off players who are deadwood to you or don't quite fit in with your plans (Mata, Di Maria, Oscar, Morata) but who are still valuable commodities in the football world and then replace them with much better suited players or in this case just straight up better players.

Declan Rice. Will enable us to play a midfield 3 of Pogba, Rice and Bruno, gives both Pogba and Bruno license to do what they do best and join the attack and be creative/a goal threat.

The single most important signing we can make is a proper defensive DM, who plays with discipline and is skilled in the art of defending and rapid transition of the ball.

I like the idea, but its very unlikely for three reasons
1. Everyone is skint now. I doubt anyone would be willing to spend on Martial in the current market and besides the oil clubs, no one can afford Pogba
2. Villa are filthy rich, they dont need money but they really need Grealish
3. Since we extended Cavani i doubt we would be in for Kane

Rice absolutely would not allow us to play Pogba and Bruno in a midfield 3.

Rice would be an upgrade to either McTominay or Fred; he wouldn't and couldn't do the defensive work of both.

nah, rather keep them both,
sign Sancho, DM and CB

You want Frexit and BrexIn?

Would still be short on the RW and we'd end up either shoehorning Rashford or Grealish there whilst losing one of our best transitional players.

I wouldn't take it.

Probably safe to assume OP is considering potential money in that Pogba would bring.

Also, strange take on Grealish not wanting to sign for United. Of course he would!

You don't turn down the opportunity to sign the best CF in the world because it might hinder the development of a player looking more like an inside forward with each passing day.

Re Pogba, you won't get the money he's worth and at this stage he's played well over prolonged periods, where we should consider keeping him if he wants to stay.

Martial will be near impossible to shift. Can't think of a club that would want him.

I think Pogba for Grealish is a sideways step at best. Grealish has been more consistent this season in a worse side, but I still think that Pogba is the better player. Wider range of skills and able to take more positions on the pitch. I love Grealish though, would love him at United.

Martial for Kane is a total no brainer. I spent a few seasons convinced that Martial lacked the fortitude to make it at the top level. Last season he looked like he'd proved me wrong, but this season he was back to his usual self. I'd happily shift him for the sake of incoming players.

No way to get rid to Pogba if he agree to renew his contract, he is playing very well recently in attacking side especially in LW position partnering with Shaw and Bruno and hard work in defensive side.
Martial would be a big question that any teams who can suffer his wage want him. His ceiling was high but he seems he cannot reach that ceiling and cannot provide a week in week out performance like aged Cavani.

There would be space for Kane if we sold Martial. Kane + a 34/35 year old Cavani isn't overkill in the CF position.

As for Greenwood, Solskjaer has said it will be years before he's ready for the CF position. So not signing a top class CF for fear of stunting his development in a role he mostly won't be playing in the coming years anyway would be an odd choice.

No thank you. Pogba can't leave, especially as it looks like we've actually getting the best out of him finally. Martial, yeah if someone said you could include him in a deal to bring in a world class talent, I'd probably do it at this point.

Said for a long time now Jack Grealish will flourish into a real star if he moves to us, he has many qualities we lack and I dread the thought of him signing for any of city Chelsea or Liverpool.

I'm worried about Grealish's shin splits issue. He's missed a massive chunk of this season, and I don't think its something that'll just go away? I wanted us to sign him last year, but I don't really see a move for him as the right one right now.

PP has and always will be the better player, anyway. Grealish is great, though.

Paul Pogba as a technical footballer is great no doubt probably top 5 as a pure footballer.

However in our team Grealish would take us to another level, he is and will always be a better left forward than Pogba.

Also for those concerned about injury records Pogbas is a lot worse.

I mean Grealish did sustain an injury at 22 where he split his kidney in half and it was worrying but other than that he’s pretty fine.

These were the players Roy Keane was saying he wanted us to sign on Sky the other week. Ultimately you'd be happy with either of them but they aren't the positions we need to address most, and in Grealish's case there isn't an obvious place for him unless he's happy sitting on the bench.

I'd still maintain the right wing is our priority attacking signing, as good as Greenwood's been. The midfield needs upgrading so we aren't as reliant on Fred and McTominay starting too.

Our priority is goals and creativity, that’s what wins us the league, we are fine defensively although I do agree we could strengthen, I’d strengthen CM over DF at the minute.

Between Rashford, Bruno, Grealish and Greenwood, they would get enough game time and Kane and Grealish would subsidise Bruno’s creativity if he needs resting.

If I was pushed I’d buy Grealish by selling Pogba and waiting for maybe Haaland but I feel we must sign Kane.

I’d be a lot more hesitant to play against Grealish if I was a defender than Pogba in the final third. Yes Pogba is joining the party now but Grealish is absolutey box office.

I’d like to see Grealish instead of Sancho and keep Pogba.

I’d rather keep Pogba. But clearly sometimes we have to make sacrifices, and with him it’s all about whether he signs a new contract.

are we a better team with Kane/Grealish in and Martial/Pogba out - then yes.

both the right type of players to being in.

however - this would likely mean not addressing CB, DCM and RW - which are positions we can make a bigger impact.

No way. Replacing Pogba with anyone is a downgrade, and our failings in the transfer market would probably mean paying 3x more for Grealish than we would get for Pogba.

Sell Mata, Lingard, Andreas and VDB and get another midfielder in to compete, whilst going all out to retain Pogba.

I genuinely think it's pointless even discussing signing a new striker now Cavani's signed his new deal. Any plans for that to happen will be pushed back another 12 months now, like it or not.

I wouldn't say no to Kane or Grealish if money is no object but in a world where it is that's just a fantasy. If Grealish came in my suspicion is it would lead to either him or Rashford being regularly pushed to the right as well, and for that reason I'd much prefer Sancho.

I don't understand why people still say Pogba should be sold, yes going off seasons under Mourinho and his agent spouting shit then fair enough but Pogba looks happy and is one of the best players in the league. Ole also seems to really like him. Why would we get rid of him.

He shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as Martial as Pogba is miles better and doesn't go off the boil performance wise as often.

Agree, it's quite strange. Feels as random as arguing that we should sell Fred and VdB.

Pogba should only be sold if he wants to go or won't sign a contract. Otherwise it's not worth the hassle of replacing him.

Selling Martial I'd be all for as despite flattering to deceive for the six seasons he's been here he would still fetch a decent fee while freeing up space in the squad for a better or better profile of player.

As for Grealish, excellent though he is I just don't see how signing him would be a priority. Someone like Sancho who is more flexible in terms of the positions he plays would make more sense as an attacking addition, as would a top class CF. Beyond that a CM and CB would surely be greater priorities as well.

I would prefer to keep Pogba but I am worried that in 6-12 months we'll be back to square one with him sulking and Raiola talking shit in the press again. As brilliant as he is, we have to seriously consider whether we are better off without him long term, especially if we can get Grealish to provide 90% of the productivity with none of the headaches.

I don't want Kane. He will cost a fortune and I don't think he would fit here. I'd rather try for Haaland or wait for somebody else to come along.

I think most people would want to keep Pogba. But he’s only for a year left on his contract. Hence he signs a new contract or he should be sold this summer.

that would be the reality of most players, unless they were near the end of their career.
