harsh but fairReads like he's done managing entirely. Hopefully BBC or BT hire him, if nothing else to put Jermaine Jenas down
Seems like a better and more suitable choice to some howe links.Have had a feeling Eddie Howe has been waiting on this
I hope they do, they're our bogey team and we need a naive bum in charge of them to reverse that trend.I just hope they dont appoint Lampard, hes not the right guy.
That is brilliant. Fair play to himAlways worth a watch when a manager takes no shit...
Hi Shipperly,Done a fantastic job stabilising the club through a tough period but it's time. The next appointment is critical and I have a sneaky feeling the board will play it safe and push for Sean Dyche.
The contracts thing doesn't worry me one bit to be honest and is a huge opportunity for the club to rebuild the squad, it's our wage-bill that's held us back from being able to invest in the team and the current team is at the end of its cycle. I am sure we will renew four or five and let those in their 30s that are on big wages (eg Sakho 100k a week, PVA 70k a week etc) go. Looking forward to what's coming next.
If I had to guess I think we'll offer contracts to Joel Ward, Nat Clyne (depending on the money) and Gary Cahill.Hi Shipperly,
I think Dyche would be a good choice, he would give you stability. What players do you think you'll keep? Most of them need to go tbh Dann, Kelly, McArthur, McCarthy etc.

Palace themselves right before Roy are a good example. Didn’t they bin off Allardyce just after he kept them up because Frank De Boer seemed more attractive? Then they lost their opening 4 games and gave him the boot.Palace potentially relegated next season then? Seen it happen before where a club get tired of having a steady yet boring manager who plays functional football and replace them with a supposedly exciting up and comer or hipster choice and it goes tits up rather quickly.
It doesn't always happen like that though does it?Palace potentially relegated next season then? Seen it happen before where a club get tired of having a steady yet boring manager who plays functional football and replace them with a supposedly exciting up and comer or hipster choice and it goes tits up rather quickly.
That's amazing. Wish more managers would do that.Always worth a watch when a manager takes no shit...
Looks like it needs to be done. Of those players you offer contracts to, (logically speaking) you would do well to get 50% of them to sign.If I had to guess I think we'll offer contracts to Joel Ward, Nat Clyne (depending on the money) and Gary Cahill.
Borderlines for me are Townsend who I'd get rid of but will depend on how much there is to spend, James McCarthy as a squad player and Benteke depending on how much he wants a week. I'd be happy for Benteke to stay on a reasonable salary but not the 100k a week plus he gets now. I think we might also offer Scott Dann 1 more year as a fifth choice centre-back, but we badly need a centre-back or two this summer.
To go are Van Aanholt, Hennessey, Connor Wickham, Mama Sakho and we won't make Batshuayi permanent. I reckon through those alone we're talking £400k a week off the wage bill, that's the wages of 6 Ebere Ezes. The situation sounds drastic from the outside but it really does have to be done.
Who somehow now finds himself in the Dutch national team job.Palace themselves right before Roy are a good example. Didn’t they bin off Allardyce just after he kept them up because Frank De Boer seemed more attractive? Then they lost their opening 4 games and gave him the boot.
Absolutely not, no. Allardyce kept us up and then "retired" from football...only to take the Everton job a few months later. We were only ever a stepping stone for him to rebuild his reputation after the England shambles before going for a bigger job again, he was never interested in being at Palace long term, we would have gladly kept him. The board effed up with De Boer, no doubt. I hope they've learnt from it.Palace themselves right before Roy are a good example. I think we will probably sign 5 or 6 in total including a couple of loans. Of the players that are on the 'to go' list I'd imagine with the exception of Van Aanholt they've probably made about 20 appearances between them all season. Some of the replacements are already there too; Jack Butland will slot in to Hennessey's role, Mateta came in during the January window who will take Wickham's spot, Tyrick Mitchell has ousted Van Aanholt over the last few weeks. It's not going to be easy but it's really not as bad as the media make out.Looks like it needs to be done. how many new players do you need to buy? 6-8 just to have a squad next season.
with a new manager as well.
no one will be able to predict Palace next season, it’s a big ask to integrate so many players and be competitive.

That wage bill is ridiculous in comparison to the quality of those players, the only ones I’d keep are the ones in bold, Batshuayi is he even still alive? I haven’t seen him play for the longest time. Benteke has found his scoring boots again so I would keep him until you can find a proper replacement. If I had to guess I think we'll offer contracts to Joel Ward, Nat Clyne (depending on the money) and Gary Cahill.

Exactly! How did I forget about that. Absolute disaster.Palace themselves right before Roy are a good example. Didn’t they bin off Allardyce just after he kept them up because Frank De Boer seemed more attractive? Then they lost their opening 4 games and gave him the boot.
Was thinking the same thing. Feels like he's been there for 10 years.Only 4 years at palace? One of those weird feelings where I can’t recall any other manager for them apart from Roy.
Edit: forgot the Pardew dance
That's incredibleBenteke has 15 goals in 4 seasons!
