Ukraine tried to summon satan while Cyprus wanted to bang him. Don't see the appeal of either.

Thought it was one of the strongest years myself. Ukraine’s song got better then longer it went on. I’d buy Switzerland’s song

I liked the Swiss and the French songs best and thought one of them would win. I also thought the Icelandic song was interesting. Italy were good but I liked Finland’s rock song better. Ukraine’s number was a pleasant surprise. It sounded like a chant that part of a ritual meant to summon an ancient demon. Glad it did so well. The rest were mostly good too. I found very few songs that bored me to death this year.

I get the feeling Eurovision has become more about the build up than the actual performance these days.
Italy, Switzerland and France were big favourites because of their big online followers before the show, that reflected in the public vote.
Seems that as long as you get your name out there on social, you stand a good chance.
Switzerland and France were immense songs, worthy of winning, not sure that Italy were myself. But they had the presence.

Yeah, it was the strongest lineup for years in my opinion!

Completely agree. It's quite common for some of the better songs or entries from the "bigger" countries to have circulated their entries for weeks before the actual show. By comparison, today was the first time I heard the UK entry.

No idea why Switzerland were so popular. Dull as ditchwater, but in a similar vein to Netherlands 2019. Those songs have no place on a Eurovision stage.

Germany deserved way better and Lithuania should have won. They were the real gems. Ukraine too.

France deserved it in my eyes. Italy were crap, rock and roll? Yeh right...

UK getting zero, why do we do this every year  Don’t we pay for it with 4 other countries? Yet we know no one likes us:lol:

0 points. Last time that happened I think we were in a tie versus Real and David O’Shea was nutmegging Figo.

Finally a tagline?
I think I’ve earned it, with my ability to put my name next to a number and for that number to then be randomly assigned to a country that wins a thing.

It’s been years of hard work and dedication.

And I'm all out of bubblegum.
Still really bitter that we didn't win in 2019:

Or in 2005:

I will never get over it.

Edit: on the other hand, in 1995 we did win with a song that the Swedes refused to award any points because "it has too few words to be a song", so that's something at least:

Apparently the Italian drummer is still staring at the screen, wondering if it's happened or he's just that high.

The lead singer has been taken to hospital to be rehydrated after the 3 Serbians followed him back to his hotel room.

Wow, an actually decent rock song won for once instead of generic pop bollocks? Nice.

Italy's band has been going for 5 years, was runner-up in Italian X-Factor and has already released albums. If you put some unknown up there like the UK did, you'll get nothing. I read that he's been successful as a songwriter, but he's not well-known as a performer.

The UK used to win it when people like Cliff Richard and Lulu were taking part. They were massive stars at the time, of course.

To be fair, due to the political element it would be career suicide for any of our well known pop acts to take part. Coldplay are camp and cheesy enough for it but it would be a massive embarrassment for them if they got just a handful of points.

Yes you're right, back when Cliff won it was a different kettle of fish.

I highly doubt it would be career suicide for Coldplay to get no points. It’s simply a naff competition which is its appeal but also why no serious artists enter it as it would cheapen their image and work. Rita Ora was the UK entry early in her career but she pulled out. She said she would have ended up as a reality TV star at best if she’d have gone through with it.

Do people actually watch this?

I honestly treat it as a parody. If you watch it and pretend Alan Partridge is presenting it, it might be just about palatable.

Quite happy with the 6th place we got, even thou I pretty much hate new metal.
Beat Sweden, that's always a big plus.

Switzerland getting so many public votes is not believable at all.
