I don't really get your logic personally. Why would a player like Rice come in for a departing Pogba?
Money. Van de Beek would get a bigger role (he's relatively young, we spent 40m on him), and it'd be VdB or Fred next to McTominay or Rice IMO. The defensive mid is more of a need for us anyway IMO since we only have Matic as a true DM.

Kouyaté's agent Ediz Balkan
I’ve had a few calls from Turkish clubs but I can say that we haven’t reached any agreement with any club. We are looking to find the best alternative for Kouyate. He is happy with the interest. We’ve got offers from the Middle East and China but I’d love Kouyate to come to Turkey.

Is he as good? We know about his shooting but what’s his defending like?
Someone with the stats will come in but he's good for interceptions and his game is playing long balls. Most comparable player in my opinion is Carrick. He's only 24 too. He would add that quality passing and reading of the game in front of the defence.

Some people don't rate him highly and say he's a bit lazy though, but the stats say he's one of the top 15 players for distance covered. He's just not going to be sprinting around.

I just think he suffered from a poor Wolves season. They never replaced Jota and losing Jimenez did not help him one bit. Fabio Silva is a work in progress and Neto was having to do a
Lot on his own.
In a disjointed team it’d be difficult to shine.
Would not buying him limit Garner’s progress?

I agree. They went to a back 4 too, their whole game changed.

The Garner issue is the only thing that made me think otherwise but any CDM will impact Garner I guess.

I suspect Garner will go on loan and we need a CDM so Neves at 35m seems the deal for me. Still gutted we didn't get Jota.

The Premier League is a very attractive league, I was lucky to be able to play it last season and win the FA Cup, and this second season has helped me to consolidate myself. I am very happy because I have learned a lot, I have become a better player, more complete, and I think that although my stage has not closed as we would have liked, with another title [read: cup], I am very happy with the experience.

It is true that I have a contract with Real Madrid for the next two years and I would not like to go on loan to any club again. With the experience of the last two years, I am a player who needs to feel important, I would like next year starting from the beginning and feeling important, but settling down. So, it’s important going forward to know what you want to do. I think that the player achieves his maximum level when he is completely happy and for that he has to be 100% focused on his club. I am 24 years old, I am a very young player, with a lot of future still ahead of me, and the truth is that my expectations are clear: to settle in a club, feel important and enjoy football.

It is true that with Zizou I had fewer opportunities than I had thought, but now Madrid is without a coach. We do not know what will happen in two or three weeks, there is talk of many things and I think that right now is time to disconnect a bit from football, prepare well for what is coming and when Madrid have their next coach, let’s talk and see what we want, it will be time to decide the future.

[On whether he'd return to Real Betis in the summer]
Betis has a very good squad, I don’t know what Pellegrini and Cordón are planning for next year. It’s still early and I have to focus on my next goal, which is to play the Olympics now. From there, decide my future.
Ceballos did, however, rule out joining Sevilla. Sevilla are Betis's local rivals.

Just once it would be nice if we wrapped up a big transfer early.

Fair play to Alaba if true, but mental from Real. Probably signing bonus and agent fee on top.
And they have Mendy in Alaba‘s best position. Are they switching to a back3?

Would be less sceptical about this kind of article if it wasn't coming from such a unreliable source like ESPN, if only someone like Ducker, Whitwell or Cooper was saying this but sadly they are a bit more realistic on what we could do

Think it will be 50-60m plus player sales.

That post is being mocked on twitter?
A lot of caf posts make their way on Twitter during transfer season.

Even if we assume that the guy actually knows contractual details:
Salary alone doesn't tell the whole story. Say Real value him at €50m (signing) fee / €15m (gross) p.a. wages (steep, but reasonable sums?!), that's a €125m package over 5 years. But instead of giving him the signing fee right away they negotiate it into his salary, arriving at €25m p.a.

try to keep my head clear; in the back of my mind, there is this issue, but I’m focused on the European Championship (U21 competition, with Germany) games now. When this is over, and hopefully we’ve won the title, then I’ll decide together with my family what the best next step is for me. The next move for me will be very important, I have to think about it carefully, and I won’t make a quick decision now.
Nmecha will be a free agent next season.

The OGC Nice club president on Saliba and Todibo's prospects next season:
William, if we could extend the loan by a year, we would do so gladly, but he belongs to Arsenal. It’s not in our hands. For Todibo, however, it is. It will be up to the next manager.

£150m net can be done quite easily. In the event however, I think it'll be more likely that it'll be in the £65m-£70m net range:

Ins:

Sancho - £83m
Pau - £50m
Trippier - £20m
(Rice - £60m + Lingard)

Total: £213m (£153m without Rice)

Outs:

Dalot - £10m
Pereira - £5m
Bailly - £30m
Lingard - £25m
DDG - £15m

Total: £85m

I don't see Rice happening, but if it did, it would be £128m, net spent. Without Rice, that net spend figure goes down to £68m. Which I think is more realistic, though it depends on if we get as many outgoings as that, as I don't see many clubs being that flush with cash these days.

Don't even think Torres would cost that much. As far as I'm aware his release clause is €50m rather than £50m.

Though your Bailly number makes up for that and then some I think.

His brother is also a free agent this Summer I think and also at City. Made his debut for them this season.
Yeah, I'm kind of expecting both to leave the club. Felix isn't as good as Lukas but should still be able to find first-team football. Lukas will be in demand, though, given his good season at Anderlecht (despite not necessarily giving his all in some of the matches).

I too can use the Football Manager real time editor
No idea what you're talking about. No idea.
But realistically :

Lingard 14 million
Matic 4 million
Bailly 7 million
James 15 million
DDG 17 million
Pereira 5 million
Dalot 7 million

69 million
============
Other potential departures:

Beek 18 million
Henderson 20 million
Fred 8/9 million
Lindelof 12 million
Martial 16 million
Williams 6/7 million

82 million

I am proud of Belgium. Proud of Antwerp. Playing football in Belgium: I would like to experience that. I would like that. That is not always in my hands. I am also very happy at Tottenham. If I say now that I want to play football in Belgium, it looks like I want to leave Tottenham. And I don’t. Again: I am very happy there. But I am not saying ‘no’ to Belgium beforehand either. We’ll see if it comes my way.

 I actually thought I was being realistic as well! My thinking is that he's just signed a new contract and he's at a young enough age that he can be taken as an investment. Apparently Villareal are interested in him if they sell Torres, so I was thinking that we'd pay the release clause and get some money back from it by selling Bailly to them.

Where the grass is greener.
He's 27, injury prone, and not very good. He should be nearing his best right now, and is far from it. Getting 15m for Bailly would be impressive knowing our history of getting good fees.
