Won’t someone think of poor Martial and James. What happens to them if we do the monstrous thing of adding quality to our paper thin squad :(
Let James go to Leeds where he'll play much better as he would be playing against teams who don't sit back and will offer him space to exploit. Martial would be that player that would get kicked by Keane because of his attitude. He would do well in Italy.

This has to get done before the euros, if sancho or anyone of our targets have a really good tournament then there clubs will use that to boost up the price! We must be the only club that drags out signings!

You don't think lack of creativity and having other quality options to break down teams let us down last season? Come on, this is a vital ingredient to the cake!
I can't go through another season with Lindelof in the defence and McFred in midfield. I've had enough wobbie

To be fair I am exactly the same. I'd be happy to never see Fred play for us again, no offence to the lad, he has his moments, but he's sad to watch.

But Sancho needs to come home too!

Why has this thread gone into a Rashford debate again?
it’s the cycle. Yet to come:
  1. Is Dan James good enough
  2. Why do we accept mediocrity
  3. Martial vs Rashford
  4. Top reds vs non top reds
  5. Ronaldo vs Messi - who is the goat?
  6. Tiers and ceilings
  7. We should buy Zork
  8. Back to Sancho

I'm really as not invested in this story as I was last season. I think it might be because I'm pretty confident that this will happen, and it will happen when it does.

I'm pretty sure it will be after the Euro's, as it will allow BVB to bring in their replacement for Sancho.
I'm still as invested as I was last year but like you I'm pretty relaxed and confident it will happen. Even Utd have to be special types of idiots to bottle a deal for a player who wants to join us over anyone else after putting in almost 3 years worth of ground work.
I also think it'll happen after the Euros would love it to happen this week but we all know Utd love a saga before a grand ending

I don't think a good summer for Sancho will have any impact, most people know what a quality player he is. The reason we are in the driving seat is we have been in for him for 2 years now and add to the fact other clubs don't have money, not much would change.

Looks like we are clowning around trying to save a few quid again. Same old story, it'll go right down to the last minute and end up collapsing or he'll get sold elsewhere.

Why is this club so frustrating?

What are you on about? It’s over a week today until the window opens. All the talk in the media has been positive.

Are you this miserable in real life?

Good point.

Thing is this time last season, the noises from BD were that he wasn’t going unless it was a huge fee and they were already planning with him for 20/21.
The vibe this time appears to be far more positive

I hope you lot are correct. We need to get the business done and dusted at least a month before kick off for next season. The tooling about over the last few seasons has cost us in the early part of the season. Tell Dortmund this is the offer yes or no and move on.

Hey do not confuse my statement as any support of talent, but Martial is on a reported 250,000 pound a week. That is more than Kane at Spurs. You cannot ignore the dent in your pocket from that wage. So I would happily sell, but who is buying?

You have not understand the transfer policy from Dortmund up to now - there is nothing to tell Dortmund from Manchester United. Dortmund already sets the prize and deadline for Sancho - same like last year - and either Sanchos side (his manager) brings a club who will fullfill exactly what Dortmund wants or he will stay for another year. Dortmund will be happy with this for another year, because he is a garant to achieve their goals. There is no need to sell this player. For Dortmund it is not a problem when United (or any other club) will not pay the expected transfer fee - that is what Sancho knows already.

Another point: Many in this forum compare the PL with the Bundesliga and the way to play, to discuss if Sancho fits for United in the PL. May be most of them did not see many games in the Bundesliga, because it is minimum the same, because there are many teams playing a strong defense, esp. against Dortmund and Bayern. It is interesting to compare the ball-possession: United 56 % - Dortmund 59,5 %, in both leagues there are exactly six teams with less then 45 % of ball-possession (numbers from transfermarkt.com). This means in most games Dortmund and Sancho are playing defense-teams.

Why has Liverpool been able to announce Konate although the window hasn't opened yet? UEFA stated transfer windows as the time for official document handling. They don't mean it's the only time in a year when you are allowed to have contacts and negotiate with other teams. Yet only we seem to weirdly take this as the time to "start" working on deals.

Misses this weeks England game with 'illness'. Can only mean he is currently undergoing his United medical and will be announced official imminently.

Lads, should we bring in the Germans?

This thread is a bit too positive for my liking at the moment. You can’t have a Sancho thread without the BDL. @DWelbz19

I didn’t say terms couldn’t be agreed, I said it’s mental to complain that United are dragging their feet when we are over a week away from the window even opening. For all we know, we might have agreed terms weeks ago and are giving Dortmund time to look for a replacement without an 80m fee ruining their negotiation hand.
