Are people just going to keep saying he isn't a £100m player despite Dortmund asking for £81.5m.

We spent roughly the same on Maguire so I'd say weve got ourselves as good of a deal as possible for a player with 3 years left on his contract.
He plays in a role where he can improve us immensely. It’s not an incremental upgrade. Or marginal gain over a slightly worse player - we have a big hole on the right.

I’m happy at £80m.

I don’t agree with Southgate but I too would chose Saka for United over Sancho.
What on earth. Sancho is 21 he's not some old player, he's literally up there with the very best u23 players in the world only behind Haaland and Mbappe. That is insane.

Isn’t that just wrong though? A £100m player should be starting for their national team. The fact he doesn’t makes you wonder if he’s really worth that much money.
People need to stop taking international performance as any relevance for club football. The managers have their own very specific set of needs and preferences for a handful of games. Otherwise Klose > Ronaldo and Podolski > Messi.

Rashford and Greenwood are worth just as much if not more than him. He's not a certainty to start ahead of them in our best 11 either.
Sancho would walk into our side on the right wing. Greenwood is good but he isn't a top player yet. Sancho has been as good as any winger over the past 2-3 seasons in the world. Creativity stats on par with Messi in some cases.

People here are fecking insane. All of a sudden doing incredible things in the Bundesliga means nothing. fecking hell. Can't wait til we sign him and he shuts everyone up in here at just how good he actually is. Absolutely wild seeing some of this shit here. It's not even like he's just some nice player to watch who doesn't get end product. He's as productive as anyone, he's a brilliant dribbler, he's a creative passer and a very intelligent player who knows how to score too.

A lot of the negative opinions on Sancho is purely down to barely watching him properly, so I don't blame them. They'll see what he's all about next season.

I saw Grealish wasn't in the starting lineup either. So is he now not worth 80m or whatever price aston villa has?
The same applies for Grealish as for Sancho. If you’re that good, you start for your national team. They’re both quality players, but Sancho is young and has to improve to become the player he promises to be, and Grealish was playing in the Championship not that long ago. People are getting carried away with the hype in both cases.

Sancho was simply not selected for tactical reasons, which says a lot about Southgate's overall approach at least to the game today. Maybe he'll play in the final group game if we win against Scotland and can take it a bit easier. I don't think he'll get a sniff otherwise, unless there's some injuries. Pretty pretty crazy.

Nonsense, don't you know that Giroud > Kane?

Some graphics of his ‘medical’ and merchandise circulating.
If they are correct, he’s having 7 off Cavani, which might hint that Cavani MIGHT take the number 9 shirt.

Interesting argument and I can’t really imagine Madrid or Barca suddenly bidding £100m for Mount, for example. But team selection is not a foolproof guide to value in any case. In this case it is no guide at all because it’s tournament football where fitness, form and team balance are a juggling act for the coaches; probably more meaningful to reflect after all the games have been played.

Specifically, Grealish is no worse a player for not being selected today. For a start he’s still getting back to fitness. Foden started ahead of Sancho and he’s probably worth similar money but, again, it means very little. England are pretty stacked in these parts of the pitch.

Care to share? Though I heard they are fake and from his Dortmund pre season medical last year.

Plus why would he do a medical for us when Dortmund haven't accepted out bid for him?

Grealish must be bang average to some of you lot since he didn't make it off the bench :houllier:
Both are crap apparently because they didn't start for England.

Back in the real world they're both better players than Foden. It's just that manager has his preferences.

To be fair if they were real they'd be all over twitter and I'm not seeing anything on there.
Exactly but I’m happy to give him the rope he needs

Mbappe is the best option they have there and won the world cup. Already an established member of France team.
Haaland, well, you look at Norway's squad...

Sancho has senior players in front of him, he needs to move to a bigger team, and establish himself as a proper superstar.
England are stacked on both of the flank..
