Come on, it's not like he's never performed for united to this level he's showing at the moment for France. It's disengenous to suggest other wise when they're many such performances for united to draw from as examples.
Of course, but just not very often yet he turns up for France everytime

I am not optimistic that he will renew with us. Top player when motivated. Maybe we need to sign Rice this summer for him to stay.

I get the feel McCoist is very reluctant to acknowledge how well he's playing! Will be interesting to see what Keane says who is normally a big critict!
Not when playing for France he isn't.

Pogba can't do this for Utd. He's a luxury player. We don't have Kante and 7 or 8 world class players in order to allow Pogba to be Pogba.

I don't see the huge difference between this performance and what he generally does for us on a good day. He's been good, just like he has for us on many occasions. He's put in even better performances for us.

This talk of him having more freedom. He's playing a fairly reserved role here. He's certainly had more feeedom with us when he plays off the left.

Sidenote: I'll get battered for this but did he mean that pass or was it really intended for Benzema? It had an odd flight and his reaction after hitting it seemed a bit frustrated.

Wasted so much of his career already playing under piss poor managers at United alongside dross or past it players.

Smart man for not rushing to sign a new contract, I have to say. He will go elsewhere and shine like Lukaku and Di Maria.

The issue is not motivation or fitness or “not turning up”, but the complete mismanagement at the club top to bottom. Eventually, when a few more expensive signings have “failed” at United, some on here might finally realize this.

Pogba needs a Kante type player/someone to clean house and I think a Griezman type/someone to come close and always offer an easy outlet if he needs it. But that player needs to be very good too

Wishful thinking.

Our best player in the second half of the season
Agreed, he is our best player in open play. On the whole you would have to say Bruno when you consider the goals but in open play it is quite easily Pogba.

Ally Mccoist just said something about how Pogba has had some decent performances for United but he is so much better for France. Individually this would be an average performance for him based on his United career but people just base their opinions on the criticism he gets for existing.

When fit, yes. He has had a number of injuries over the last 3 seasons including covid but his actual performances are actually frequently very good.
Feels generous that to me, not disputing what a talent he is but he just doesn’t produce often enough for me. When he has a poor game he’s incredibly sloppy, when he’s good he’s very good but just feels as though we never know which version of Pogba will show up.

Haha you think I am very generous and I think you are very harsh. I don't reckon we are going to agree mate!

Bossed it first half....also just very cheaply gave the ball away 3 times in the space of a minute.

He's been as good if not better than this for long stretches for us, I just think he can't do that for a whole season. He usually either suffers a muscular injury or he looks really off the boil after that. For an international tournament he only has to give a month or so and he has Kante next to him who's world class in his own right.

Exactly this. Every time a tournament comes, every time people question why he's so different but he's really not. He's had stretches of 7 games where he's been top level for United, and he's had 7/9 games where he's been top level in a National tournament.

Ha ha yes probably mate, he certainly divides opinion across the full football community, think we can agree on that!
That is one of the things that make football and forums like this fun.

The one thing I would leave it as is that Pogba has had a bunch of incredible seasons and games. He just got harshly judged for playing a couple of passes that weren't his best over a 1 minute period after being by a mile the best player on the pitch for 60 minutes (not by you). Kante has been quite average in this game and Mbappe has been rubbish and no one says a word. I just feel he is so harshly judged and I do not know why.

Still if we all agreed this forum would be fecking boring.

Bruno wasnt better second half at all
I'm sorry but he clearly was. You'd think Paul Pogba was Zidane last 5 months of season listening to you lot.

Pogba's last PL goal came in January. Yes January.

It was no coincidence our form fell off a cliff when he got injured. Before the injury, he was playing some of the best stuff in the league, and we were neck-and-neck with City.

Pogba's last PL goal was in January and Bruno won our player of the year and I have the agenda?

Hahahaha
You go to the Pogba thread every time he plays well to tell people he is not as good as they think and have been banned from here before for doing so. Yes you have an agenda.

Ally McCoist summing up why Pogba is so harshly treated. The negative bias in the media is incredible towards Pogba.

Fans and players got it wrong then on the club awards?

Clearly should have been Pogba with his amazing two PL goals in the second half of the season. That's an afternoon's work for Bruno.

Your bias towards Pogba is laughable at this stage. Mctomminay scored more goals last season than he did and he only got 6 assists. What was so amazing about him?

Weirdly enough I find myself more annoyed/frustrated when he plays well rather than when he plays poorly as I keep thinking that if he kept that up he would've ended up as an all-time great (instead of simply sighing in disappointment)

He's such a marvel to watch when on song! Got a bit unlucky with those offsides.
