The so-called Stockport Messi isnt quite the same without Kevin Dr Bruyne and co is he?
Same is being said about everyone else on the pitch, especially Kane too. Underperforming, can’t handle the big stage etc etc.

Perhaps, just perhaps, this is a manager thing.

Just a thought.

The hype train can't even make comms recognize when he had a shocker. Alan Smith surprised he came off  Hes been woeful in both games and he let him off by saying it was the easy choice because he's young but "did well". Was tumescent.

He had a couple of moments. Kane and Sterling were far worse, it should have been Sterling to come off.

He did nothing, but the problem is that he's not even close to Sancho's, Rashfords or Grealish's current level. It's like picking Parker ahead of Carrick in midfield levels of bad decisions.

Not a great game but he's clearly very talented and has had some nice touches.

Not helped by playing so far up. He should be in the mix of it in midfield. Philips instead of Rice and Foden/Mount in a three.

Grealish or Rashford in the front three.

The manager makes you overrun the ball, run down blind alleys and make wrong decisions? Okay then.

Sancho and Rashford on the wings, Grealish and Mount in the midfield 3 should be it. Sancho and Grealish are among the most creative players in world football. Yet are on the bench.

I think he’s an amazing talent but it will be interesting to see how he develops. It took Pep long enough to integrate him but even now the fact is he plays for an ultra dominant club side and decorates games rather then being at the heart of things, which with his talent you’d hope for him to be.

Yeah he's quite small and still young. He's a late bloomer for sure IMO. Obvious talent but Southgate isn't helping him playing him in an unfamiliar role in which there are multiple far better and more proven players available. That's the biggest issue. Leave him to be an impact sub, it's what he's more suited to at this point.

Christ I didn’t take notes but he played well in the first half - didn’t he have a chance at one point? A couple of runs? He certainly did better then Sterling, Kane etc
No, he was shite in the first half and the only thing he did was control an offside ball nicely and then feck up the offside chance.

Compared to 63 minutes, he completed 3 dribbles to Foden’s 4, got fouled more, had much better passing accuracy.
So yeah, it means something, but coming on is always tougher and he still outperformed him.
Hes coming on against a tired defence. His fouls won were all near the halfway line. Did feck all.

Was better than Sterling and Kane, I do not think this style of foorball is suiting him, hes more of a linkup player.

That's my point. They are all playing shit. It's on the manager.
Oh for sure. But it can still work out if he picks his best and most talented players who can do stuff on their own. That means Grealish, Sancho, Rashford should all probably start in the 3 behind Kane.

You need a Sancho or Rashford on each side in modern football. We will look back at this like we do at Scholes being played on the left.
Foden is not a right winger. He doesn't play well there

For City he was best when used as a false 9 and had a Pep system with Mahrez/Silva, De Bruyne, Gundogan to support him. He wasn't used that much as a creative force for them.

He was probably the 2nd most creative player in the City team in the 2nd half of the season.
