I wouldn't write Mbappe off, he's an exceptional talent, but I will say that I don't think being at PSG is doing him any favours.

Hes not really developed since the world cup. Players who are challenged every week get better. He is not.

No team in particular.
That should have been a penalty.

Defender drags onto the attacker fouling him in the process, feigns injury, wastes time and essentially gets rewarded.

Ridiculous decision in the context

Match was played in Budapest, in a stadium full of hungarians.

If this was played in Germany it was definitely a penalty given to France(deserved because it was a penalty).

Shame Hungary’s last match is in Munich.

In hindsight, ridiculous that the “heavy dogs” get 3 home matches and the lesser teams 2.

Italy, England, Germany, and Holland should have all had 2 home games and not 3.

Actually looking forward to this Portugal game more than any other except the England games. Think they’ve moved slightly ahead of Holland as my second team.

Yeah, not only are Germany playing three games at home, they also get spared the packed hungarian stadium, while their competitors had to play there.

This tournament so far, has been a sobering experience for quite a few future superstars and a reminder of who is still the big boss.

Does that really matter? If they don't want to play by the rules, then they deserve to get sent home. Not the first time that a home team would have suffered a cruel twist of fate in a tournament.

To my amateur eyes, with the way France are set up, if Mbappe gets injured they will struggle.

If they make him out to be someone with the potential to be one of the greatest ever then I agree. But he will be one of the best of his generation.
He absolutely has the potential to be one of the greatest ever. Just maybe not the level of Messi/Cristiano

He's 22 and he's as good as Henry at his peak ffs

You're English?q
Yep. Of course I’d like England to win it but I’m a realist :D Holland have always been known for playing decent football but now with Fernandes being Utd’s talisman I’m following Portugal more.

Yes, so not one of the best ever then. Henry wasn't one of the best ever. And I don't think he's as good as Henry at his peak. Henry especially in the PL (Arsenal were bit shit in the CL) was better than anything I've seen from Mbappe. But I think the latter will surpass him over his career.

Personally I don't think he'll be as good as Henry at Arsenal. He may have a better career due to starting this well already and potentially going to a bigger club than can win the UCL. But in terms of talent, I think people are overhyping it due to how great Messi and Ronaldo have been. If I had to estimate his level of talent, I'd say around Henry's level ( not better)....best player in the Premier League, potential ballon d'or, but not at the level that we should expect it every year.

Out of curiosity, how often have you seen Mbappé outside of CL or France?

Respect to Hungary for working hard to draw against France, spirited performance .

France missed chances in the 1st half, they should have put the game to bed early

Kante again impressive and France highest rated player on the BBC player ratings.

To be honest, I expected France’s more attacking players to be hitting motm performances, not Kante. Deschamps really is far too cautious for this squad. Rabiot is useless.

I've seen PSG in their league a handful of times over the last couple of years but I don't value performances for PSG in that league anywhere near those in the PL. They're actually very different players. Mbappe, is a natural at contributing in terms of end product, but for Arsenal Henry was everything - he dropped deep and was a playmaker, he was a goalscrorer, everything. Somewhat like Messi but obviously not as good. So yeah, I'd take peak Henry over 22 year old Mbappe.

Mbappé will have a better career most likely, if he moves to Madrid he eventually will win way more trophies than Henry.

He might be even better than Henry, but he is too young to compare with a mature Henry peak.We have to wait until Mbappé is 25-26 at least.

What was Henry doing at his age? Faffing about on the wing at Juve?
