"Kicker" just fully backed the reports from the BBC so the thing will probably be officially announced from Dortmunds side tomorrow. 85 Mil. € base + a couple mlllions in majorily easy to obtain bonuses will probably finalize the price somewhere in the 90-95 Mil. € range.

In the end a deal that both parties can be contend with. Most positive point here is most likely that the thing was not dragged out unecessarily which means Dortmund will have a replacement lined up for the time the pre season starts, which in my eyes will be important as the void Sancho leaves behind creatively will have to be compensated collectively and tactically rather than by a single player.
Sounds like they are going for Donyell Malden and/or Noni Madueke from PSV. I’m sure whoever you get will turn out to be a good singing once they settle :)

Doesn't make sense to sign a big name player and force him to wear another number for a few months because a soon leaving 34 year old currently occupies the number
He'll wear it for one year only, no biggie.

I think if Cavani gets the 9 he'll happily give the 7 to Sancho... but that means stripping Martial of his number again. Ole is too nice to do that.

I think marketing will pull rank on this. Give Cavani number 9 and give Martial 21 or something

Doesn’t make sense not to do it to be honest.

I’ll rather he had a year to settle in without all the excess bullshit that comes with wearing that shirt. Cavani’s the first player since Ronaldo to do it any justice.

Cavani wears 21 for Uruguay and his Instagram is Cavani 21, surely that would make more sense if he was to give it up.

Yeah but he hasn't admitted it yet. This season his excuse was "I don't know what's wrong", when Zlatan joined he genuinely sulked about the number thing, and having competition.
He didn't sulk for any of these things, he was disappointed by the fact that the club didn't tell him beforehand and Martial under Mourinho has never had an issue competing with Rashford, both players competed normally.

Yep, so another full season of sulking from Martial then, like when Zlatan took the 9 shirt and killed his AM9 brand
He faces a pretty stark choice. Find another club or get over it.

If he carries on in his present attitude it will just be few years before he is selling his "AM9" branded goods alongside Mach3 blades and deodorants on a market stall outside Lyon.

I was referring to Zlatan joining the club and Martial downing tools for about 6 months as well as losing the number 9.

With rashford going for surgery, Sancho will likely start on the left.
that could depend on Martial and what Ole decides to do with him. He could easily start with Martial on the left with Sancho on the right just to see if Martial finds any form otherwise ship his ass out.

Looking at Cavani’s shirt number history, I’d say he’ll happily gives the number 7 to Sancho.
At least if he gets the 9
7 for Palermo, Napoli and United. 9 for PSG. Hm.

I think he'll get an ultimatum from the club at the start of this season anyway. We've got some good youngsters coming through that are going to keep him out of the team if he carries on

Hands up, after signing Pellestri and Amad i didnt think Utd would sign another winger. Obviously i was wrong. Do wonder what they will do with amad now? Send him out on loan to get needed first team football ala Pellestri or keep him in and around the first team and build up his minutes?

So glad the deal is now sorted, great signing and I think everyone will be happy, fair price too,
Hopefully we'll get all our targets done quickly this year

Can somebody tag all those annoying Dortmund posters from last summer? Would greatly appreciate it. Just want to have a chat with them… xoxo

This narrative makes me laugh. Cavani threw a massive hissy fit when Neymar wanted to take a penalty off him for PSG but you don’t hear anything about him sulking. Scholes once refused to play a game with the second team, but you don’t hear much about that. The amount of time that you and some of our fans spend hating on Martial is very weird, and top of that it’s dishonest. Ibra was brought in as a striker, Martial was playing on the left at the time, so they weren’t even in competition.

Martial could have next weeks lottery numbers on his back and he would still sulk about with his arse in his hand.

Come on, you know by now it is pretty useless to correct these posts.

Every 2nd post about Martial has one or 2 myths that have no basis in reality.

Key difference is what those player had or went on to achieve. Martial will never get even remotely close to the examples you listed.
