So what's the update?

Grealish is fine with staying or leaving, he is not actively pushing for transfer?

If that's the case, then such a dream player for Villa.

I think Grealish is a very good player and I like him a lot....... I also think he may be the most overrated player in I've ever come across.

I'm sure he will do well for City if / when he goes and he will win titles there. Still mental signing a player for 100Million that you don't really need though.

Reports coming out that Grealish isnt pushing to leave Villa and join city......Ive said all along Grealish wants to sign for us
He may eventually leave for City, but UNITED has always been his first choice. Still think we move pogba on and go for him just to get one over on City.Unlikely though

Listening to the Athletic podcast and thei reporter has alluded to Grealish having some kind of release clause in his contract but that it's a complex situation. I guess we'll find out more info at a later date but it seems like it's basically up to Grealish to decide rather than Villa refusing to let him go.

Just stay put Jack. We'll pick you up next year. Remember, the future is red.

My fantastic suggestion is that he is waiting to see if Pogba signs an extension with us. In the scenario that Pogba rejects our contract and plans to leave on a free next year, Grealish stays at Villa and comes to us next summer.

Were United even interested in Grealish this summer?

So now we are signing Grealish and Haaland next summer? No more Glazers Out?

There’s basically no chance. All of our funds are going on a striker next year.
Ok, a bit offtopic as this is the Grealish thread, but all of our funds? Hopefully not. Yes, the funds will be depleted if we're in for Kane or Haaland. In my opinion we would be mad to spend all our money on Kane. Not too sure if Haaland would want to sign for us with his agent.

I agree with OrcaFat and yamo123x.
IMO it all depends on the Pogba situation whether we are going to move for Grealish (and of course if Grealish will still be at Villa at that time).

Haaland will cost something like £73M there's no way he'll deplete our funds

We’ve just spent a similar amount on Sancho, Varane was £35 million and now we’re relying on incomings by all accounts. No chance we get a top striker and Grealish in one window, unless his price reduces.

I just don’t see us spending over £100 million on someone who isn’t a bonafide starter.

If Grealish is signed, he is nailed on to be a starter on the left hand side.

Grealish
Haaland
Sancho

Andrei Kanchelskis made me fall in love with Unite
Grealish going to city for 100m and Lukaku going to chelsea for 100m+ highlights the great business we have done for varane and sancho. So far, a great window for us - I'd say 8/10 to this point. But if we don't shift some players and hopefully bring one more in I'd be disappointed.

Neither one of these has happened, nor are they guaranteed to at this stage.

It's just as likely both of them stay at their respective clubs

Which would also highlight the great business United have done. City and Chelsea both get £100m+ bids rejected, we sign two quality players for around the same price.

Of course!

I'm hoping for Neves/Trippier before the close of the window and then next season get Grealish/Haaland in.

We'd be one of the best teams in the country by far if we were to pull that off. Anyhow, I'm/we are in danger of de-railing the thread here haha

Never said they did happen, but those are the figures being mentioned.
Yes you did.

The language you used literally states that they are happening.

I like your optimism, but we’ve never spent above £150 million in a window, and when we’ve got close, we’ve invariably made £50-£60 million in sales.

There’s a big chance our best midfielder walks for free next summer, meaning both midfield spots and a striker are needed before the start of next season.

That’s wishful thinking to be honest. Madrid and Barcelona will always have an allure. Barcelona is one of the best cities in the world too!
It's the city that attracts these stars not the crazy salaries. I will never believe again that it's the allure of these teams. You can't tell me that if we had bid for Frenkie de Jong and Barca did the same with a salary offer of 150k which is reasonable for a player coming from the Eredivise and we offered him 400k he would still choose the beautiful city of Barcelona over Manchester. When Griezmann went to Barcelona some said he had chosen them over us, no he chose 800k or whatever it is over us.
