If I was pogba I’d be embarrassed. Isn’t it funny how clubs go all out and find a way for players they actually want? He is just not that guy.
horrible take. I guess Sancho should be embarrassed we didn’t “go all out” last year? The coping mechanisms you guys are finding are comical. It’s a win win for Pogba. If he doesn’t end there this year, he can end up there next year with a hefty signing fee and wages as a free transfer, alternatively depending on how United progress, he could potentially renew with better wages here.

Pogba has the power to tell Raiola what to do and what he wants, the player is the boss, the client not the agent. By January, other clubs are free to talk with Pogba directly to sign him for free in the next summer. It’ll be too late if you expect to wait until we are doing well mate.
Yeah I'm not saying the club are right but I think it's a massive reach to expect the player to tell the agent how much he's allowed to make on a deal while at the same time expecting the club to reduce their asking price.

And even if they did those things both Pogba and his agent know they can get more money if they hang on until next season. Going on a free means a signing bonus and higher wages.

Pogba is not a superstar. On the pitch or off the pitch. Even Salah is more marketable than Pogba
Pogba is more marketable than Salah. Overseas when you think of the premier league he is one of the very first names that come to mind.

Not horrible considering Sancho is not a superstar in comparsion to Pogba. Pogba is "supposedly" to be up there with the very best in the world according to football fans. Sancho's is about to taste what is feels like you be a star at United. Pogba on the other hand cant even get his preffered club Madrid to put in an offer over the last 3 years.

Some of these comments are giving me the "my ex dumped me so I'm gonna slag her off to make myself feel better" vibe. Serious, what a silly post

Sancho is a star. He’s not a prospect about to taste nothing. He has been one of the most productive players in his position for the past three seasons, hence football pundits, specifically German ones, being astonished he didn’t feature more prominently for England. Fact of the matter your statement was idiotic and it’s easily corroborated by United, one of the richest clubs, having to amend their plans and not get the player they really wanted last season which was Sancho.

Clubs are facing financial realities they didn’t have to deal with previously, and there have been reports emphasising Madrid and Barcelona specifically are not in the best financial form. Madrid being Pogba’s preferred club is nothing but speculation, based largely on the Zidane connection. he has been linked with Madrid, Juve and PSG, clubs top players are usually linked with, similarly, many reports have stressed he’s happy at United, something Ole reiterates at every chance.

Again, these coping mechanisms you guys are adopting are pathetic. I promise you Pogba will not struggle to find a top club, he’s in a great position, he can renew with United for better wages or move to a top club for free with a bag of money as a signing fee and crazy wages.

Players generally don't do things like that as it's quite the dick move.
It really isn't.

A bad move would be to not honor your contract and leave the club hanging by not showing up.
If a player is looking at the possibility for a move, then why bind yourself to the current club by signing a new contract?

In this situation, it's unfortunate for the club that other clubs don't have the money, or that they don't want to pay the fee that the club wants for the player. So there's not much to do other than hoping he'll choose to stay and sign a new contract.

If we sell Pogba, how much do we need to pay him in loyalty fee or whatever its called? Anyone know how much it is?
15M if we ask him to leave now, If he put up a request then we dont have to pay anything .

Its bad that PSGs focus is now turned to Messi means they might get Pogba next year for free.

Here’s the deal guys, for Pogba it is always family first. Football second. Anything that can give them a better life he will do. If that means hiring a bulldog of an agent to get him the most money, so be it. His parents were impoverished immigrants in France and they had to fight a lot to be where they are. So I don’t blame Pogba for always looking family first.

They would be an absolute terror for every backline in the world, they still have the likes of Di Maria and Veratti to feed them quality balls and Neymar and Messi are still very much in their primes. Mbappe hasn't even hit his yet
Battered on transition. Without the ball they'd be awful.

I follow La Liga quite closely and what I can tell you is he’s an exceptional player - really good with the ball at his feet, lethal finisher and can pick a really decent pass - I’m talking maybe even Scholesy level passing. Much as I’d like to see us sign him I’m not sure there’s a place for him - he’d either occupy the CF role that we already have Cavani for (not sure there’s much point in having 2 players for the same role with 1-2 season left in them each) or the Bruno role which, well, we have Bruno for.

It seems pretty clear that Pogba is going nowhere this summer. The fact that we'd have to pay him 15m to leave when a big fee isnt likely means that selling him before his contract ends loses the point. This does however look very like a Rooney/De Gea situqtion where Judge will throw a stupidly massive wage at him to stay despite being 29 at the end of his contract and still wildly inconsistent.

Would love to know what part of that you disagree with. I seem to get sarcastic responses to everything I post though so maybe I just leave RedCafe here. I get that I’m new to soccer and maybe don’t know everything.

If it's true that PSG will sign Messi, that means they have already stretched themselves to the max in terms of wages of players, only recently Neymar agreed a new deal, and of course he is on massive wages, they signed 3 experienced top players on free, so I suspect they offered them big wages, and let's not forget Mbappe will be offered a huge contract in case he wants to stay because Messi is joining.

This might mean they won't be able to sign Pogba on free next season, as he will command a huge salary and Raiola will demand a major agent fee, they still need to operate within FFP

This means only Manchester United can offer a good contract to Pogba, this now puts the club in a stronger position.

I might be wrong though but this what I think will happen if Messi signs for PSG

Mbappe
Neymar Messi Di Maria
Verrati Pogba

Thinking top teams would be scared of playing against a team with 4 players that don't defend and 1 who's shit at it

We're not selling Pogba to PSG if they get Messi, 4 divas is enough of a headache for Poch.

Pogba will let his contract run out and then join RM, Juve or PSG (when Mbappe leaves) next year.

We shouldn't extend if he wants significantly more than De Gea. His performances just don't warrant that kind of contract. We'd lose more money by giving him that contract than letting him walk for free.

I'd love to see him dropped to the bench for big games instead of doing feck all LW (except shunting Rashy to the right). He'll come in handy in CM against a parked bus and from the bench in general.

I mean, Messi is a better playmaker than Pogba, so I do feel like having both would be overkill.

Saying that, surely Paul must be salivating at the thought of playing with potentially Messi, Neymar and Mbappe?
True but there is actually no player in world footballer more suited to playing with Mbappe than Pogba.

Mbappe thrives off long balls from deep. Pogba finds him every time. It's amazing to watched. They where literally the one of the best partnerships in the euros but Mbappe just kept missing every chance.

All I know is if I have Mbappe on my team you want Pogba playing behind him

I'm all for people being honest though. Was Pogba our worst player last season? Not even close. Was he our best? Again not close. He's was bang in the middle which in my book is not excellent.

He seems to get better and better with some of our fans the more he doesn't play.

Bruno, Shaw, Rashford Maguire, Cavani were all better than Pogba for me.
I’ve had many frustrations with Pogba’s inconsistency over the years.

But last season isn’t one to say he wasn’t great. In his last few months since the announcement that he would be leaving, he was regularly one of our best players on the pitch every game. That is why it was so frustrating because we were arguably seeing the best of Pogba that we’d seen in a Utd shirt before he was about to leave us. His last 4 months were brilliant which we can’t deny.

He was bad today, we lost the entire midfield when matic/DVB went off for Pogba/Fred. Probably one of our worst players today.

Poor enough today. Lost the ball i think twice and gave the ball away a couple of times.

Id still start him instead of Dan James on the left against leeds. Please Ole no more of Dan James

Class from supporters.
Yep he was very popular in the area I was in something he did acknowledge more than once

A few calls for him to sign the contract when he made it onto the pitch in the 2nd half

Someone asked if we should sign Messi so I was giving my opinion. I watch a lot La Liga football.
I think the joke is lost on you. It is Lionel Messi. Everyone knows how good he is. Unless you have been living on Mars for the last 15 years.
