Lingard gets into most PL sides outside of the top 4. If we didn’t have a total freak like Bruno, there would still be a place for him. He worked on his fitness, changed his mentality and was an instant success at West Ham. He is a constant threat on the counter, he can score bangers or play others in. He loves a give and go, keeps the game flowing. If I was Moyes or Benitez, I would be desperate to sign a quality player like Jesse. He wins games.

Kinda overrating his ability. If he was that good he would have made the 26 man england squad. Hes an example of a player not good enough for Utd and should have been moved on. As Roy Keane and others have mentioned previously, the bar for being a Utd player is alot lower now than it used to be. It needs to be raised and deadwood like lingaard sold.

Anyway he will sign a new 4 year deal or something, barely play and join phil jones brunch club and play golf all day long.

Maybe. But if he would indeed improve 75% of the teams in the league as you say, then surely teams from 6th-20th would be scrambling to try to sign him this summer if he's available?

Whenever I see his thread bumped up I hope Westham or any other club, are helping us take his wages off our books and paying us a transfer fee in the process.

Good player but whenever he puts on the United Jersey something about his demeanour doesn't fit, it makes him look small, when i saw him at Westham last season it felt tight, he looked like their best player before he had even kick a ball, maybe my mind is playing tricks on me that's just my observation of him.

Shhhh. We don't want any WH or Everton fans reading this and spreading it on their forums.

Keep writing such positive posts. You can't sell something without talking how good it is.

Hopefully he makes a quick recovery from covid. I just want him to move on, he is not good enough to play regularly at a very high level for United.
What worries me is Ole suggesting he has role to play, there are too many better players ahead of him in the pecking order. Ole should be sitting him down and saying he has no future at United. Its harsh but that is what needs to be done. Arguably Lingard could have left the club three years ago as he has done nothing in those 3 years.

Ole should be sitting down and making it crystal clear to Lingard, Pereira, Jones and others that they have no future at the club. Maybe this is happening behind the scenes but there is nothing happening as a result.

Doubt he wants to be 2nd/3rd choice. Even the 2nd choice wouldn't get a lot of playtime behind Bruno.

There’s worse players than him that need to be shown the door first
I agree that there are more worse players than Lingard (i.e. James), but this should not be prioritised based on their ability as none of them are good enough for us.

Just get rid while we can, but knowing us I wouldn't be surprised if we end up giving Lingard a contract extension to protect his value.

As long as our club is shite at selling players it will hold us back massively.

Right now it appears to be preventing us purchasing a DM which leaves a massive problem for our Midfield

Depends what we’re looking for at this point. The others won’t raise a lot of money that’s true.
Kinda defeats the point of selling them if we won't get any money for them no?

Selling Jesse shouldn't be a problem.
Would he still be a good option for us?

Let's see.

Unfortunately we have a lot of these "hope he comes good" players on our hands.

We really need to get rid of some...

Jesse will be here next season, new contract and to protect his value in the market he will get games. Games that young, hungry players might have got instead. Lingard did nothing as an AM at United for a year, not one goal contribution, that is not a good player, he went to WHU had a six week purple patch and disappeared again.

Any chance you have a direct line to woodward to explain that?

Find it incredibly frustrating that he still is a Manchester United player

Alot of us do. The club have done well to get fletch and murtough in the poisitions where they are making a difference on incoming transfers. But i think there is still a reluctance from woodward to accept a loss on outgoing players. Periera, Chong, Jones, Lingaard etc should all be ruthlessly cut and for cheap. Its what liverpool and City did when Klopp and Guardiola came in. Got rid of the deadwood.

When lingaard was banging goals in for WH, we should have agreed a deal then. Got our £15-20mil and got out.

Incredibly frustrating for him to get COVID now when he can try to impress again this season. You guys should be a little harsh on him I feel. He and the manager have spoken about the challenges he faced mentally and it actually showed in his football. I would be more than happy to give him another shot at being a backup player to Bruno and to be used as an impact sub. At his best football, he can play this role for us.

Would be a great addition to Leicester. Very much suited to playing on the counter.

Arsenal should cut out the middle man and let Lingard join the illustrious group of United to Arsenal signings Silvestre, Welbeck and Mkhitaryan :drool::drool:

Would be a good move for him. It's not worth Lingard's while staying on the off chance of rotational minutes

I'd be surprised if this happens given Leicester's transfer strategy around buying young prospects which has proven to be very successful.

Having said that they saw what Lingard did for West Ham and he will do doubt increase their chances of finishing in the top 4.

Leicester would be the perfect move for him. likely to be nearish the top 4, but not the sort of club that other sides sit back against, make it so!

Lingard is a young prospect.

Honestly, would rather keep Lingard than have Maddison join Arsenal, who I think he'll revitalize.

Why don't we just sell Lingard to Arsenal for £40 million?

Leicester get to keep Maddison.
We get some money to invest elsewhere.
Arsenal will stop conceding goals to JLingz.
JLingz will get to shine in a mid-table team like last year.

Everyone wins.
