We arent selling Henderson or Dalot. Williams I reckon will be loan only before making a final call on him next summer.

We couldnt give Jones away at this point.

I would take off at least £5m of all of those estimates.

It will be an interesting couple of weeks because I'm pretty sure we expected to get rid of most of those this summer to balance the books.

I know there’s no news about Henderson. It’s just crazy to me that we’re paying half a million a week on 2 keepers.

Still we can't sell any of our deadwood players. Jones, Pereira, not even Lingard.
part of the trouble seems to be (seems) that Ole can't make his mind up if he wants them or not - Lingard being the most obvious example

I highly doubt he hasn't made his mind up on players. You can never take his public proclamations on players who are surplus to requirements seriously. He's talked about some players having a future and then they're gone shortly after.

He's just guarded when it comes to transfers.

I know that you wrote "seems", but even that is completely baseless.

Our club has been bad at selling players for a long time.

So of possible sales, how much money we getting?

Henderson - 25-30m - staying to play in our cup games
Lingard - 20-25m - 10m on deadline day
Pereira - 10-15m - loan with promise to buy if he wins the Ballon d’Or for 1m
Williams - 10-15m - stay after asking for an absurd loan fee
Dalot 10-15m - stay after failing to sell anyone in time to buy Trippier
Jones - free - remember, he’s here forever

Players who are 25-28'ish would want to play regularily now, i'm sure.... won't they?
If they like to play football and wants to be in the starting 11 in a club, why not accept that you have to get paid less?
They still make a lot more than the average guy.

And they can prove they are good enough for a club that will pay more.
If it comes down to a choice between staying at United on £120k a week or going to West Ham for 40k a week, lots of players will choose to stay with us.

I think this is much nearer the mark, realistically.

I think at the start of the summer it was assumed we could just shift a few for good fees but that theory has probably come crashing back down to earth. They're just not worth much at all due to wages, especially now. A few years ago it might have been slightly easier.

Now it's all about how much we want to sell these guys and reduce the wage bill. If we want to we will have to accept negligible fees or subsiside salaries, in which case people will say we are awful at sales. Otherwise I don't see many outgoings. I don't buy we're poor at sales, we have simply made past decisions that make the job extraordinarily difficult now.

What makes you think that? Clearly Ole isn't going to say "Lingard has no future here", if we don't get buyers for him then we're stuck with a very unhappy player for a season or we have to loan him out again which means he's leaves on a free.

I think it's pretty clear which players Ole rates and which players he clearly thinks can be sold. But it's not upto Ole to sell them is it? It's the board who have to negiotate with clubs and sell the players.

It comes down to salaries again doesn't it. We struggle to get reasonable fees for our players because they are on such massive wages it blows the size of the overall package up considerably

Henderson - definitely not going. Unless a bid of around 30m+ arrives, which I doubt it will. The player also looks set to fight for starting place.

Lingard looks like is staying. 15m + add ons could persuade us, but Lingard looks to be set on seeing out his contract.

Pereira is the one who is certain to leave. Anything in the region of 10m will be accepted for him. If nothing of such arrives, we'll definitely loan him in the last days or hours of the window.

Williams - we'll entertain all bids on him, loan or permanent. However we would like to make a few quid on him if it's loan. But a fair evaluation on him.

Dalot - no takers as we're looking at 20m. I doubt someone will bid that much for him. Late loan move with a good loan fee might materialise for him if Trippier comes over.

Jones - can't see him going anywhere. There are absolutely no links for him and Ole might want to keep him around and watch over his recovery and reintroduction to first team training.
I can see Jones making a decent comeback, getting a few good minutes and replacing Bailly at 4th choice. With the latter departing next summer.

Is anyone actually surprise? Because I’m not.

High wage, poor market, and our poor business handling makes it extremely hard for us to sell our deadwoods, it’s plain obvious.

The only one of these that will be sold is probably Pereira. Can see Lingard going if Arsenal pinch Maddison but for the fee required that's probably not likely.

Would love to sell those two and fund a specialist DM. Immediately takes us up a notch, on paper atleast.

It’s the same case at Juve, Real Madrid, Barcelona etc just to name a few other clubs. There is little to no money in the market for transfers with exception of some big transfers. Hopefully we see the dominos fall the last weeks for our sake. We have plenty of players we should move on.

Neither De Gea or Henderson will go this summer now, Dalot will be AWB’s back up as Atletico have priced Trippier out of a move, Jones can’t even be given away, Williams wages are a problem even for a loan, Pereira isn’t good enough in any set position for a club to take him permanently, Lingard’s wages are pricing him out and he wants to stay and Chong is on loan even though we know he has no future.

I don’t think we’ll do any more business this summer now and at best our last piece of business would be Pogba signing a new contract IF we offer what he wants, one of our problems has long been Woodward thinking he’s flexing by offering over the top wages thus meaning we can’t move anyone on.

We're picking up decent-ish loan fees.

Lingard got us £6m for a half season on loan at WHU.
Tuanzebe is netting us £5m for his season at Villa.
Williams is likely to get around £3.5m for his switch to Norwich.
And I'd assume Pereira and Amad will net us some fee for their moves to Flamengo (when it happens) and whoever Amad moves to.

I also think we'll see a lot more activity in the transfer market by the end of the window, and wouldn't be surprised if someone offers £25m for Lingard.

Dean Henderson -- £30m. Maybe not this window, so we can wait. I feel many would be interested in a young England International with potential

Andreas Pereira -- £5m. Just get rid of him so he can re-start his career. Flamengo seem interested

Jesse Lingard -- £10m-£15m. Not too fussed on price. Just sell him for whoever is interested.

Phil Jones -- Free. Unlikely anyone will take him.

Diogo Dalot -- £10m. A young Portugal International and versatile. There should be some interest might just need to be patient.

De Gea and Henderson staying is inconsequential and not a bad thing
Jones is an Achilles heel but every club has one didn't stop us from getting Varane
Williams is close to joining Norwich on loan
Pereira is close to going to Brazil but it's a loan. If he does well he may be bought permanently there or Europe but at least we get a small fee
On Lingard read this the source is VERY reliable with West Ham news. If we get all these players off the books and around £20m for Lingard we'll have enough cash to push for a DM in the £30m range

Lingard, Pereira and Jones are the 3 that need to be gone asap.

Dalot may aswell be sold if Ole doesn't trust him too.

I don't care about taking the hit on less money in transfer fees if it means wages off the books going forward and it makes space for a new signing.

Maybe if Monaco go out of the CL then Tchouaméni could be the top target for that position and could be built up slowly over the season to be a key player next season.

We're probably not selling many because everyone's broke due to Covid. I can see next summer there being a major clearout.

Liverpool just sold Shaqiri for just under 10 million pounds.

They consistently sell players for very good prices.

The excuses for us don't cut it!

What gets me is we clearly want a RB with the Trippier. That’s means we don’t fancy Dalot. Now all of a sudden we want to keep Dalot, why? If you don’t think he’s good enough what’s the point in having him as an option on the bench?

Because you cant get anyone else, or you suggesting we don’t have a bench option

Lingard with a year left and excellent loan spell at West Ham, it couldn't have been set up any better for us to sell and get some dosh in. If he contributes a decent amount I'll gladly admit it but he's had whole seasons worth of chances under Ole and produced nothing. If he doesn't have much effect in the coming weeks we can't risk having another zero output season with him and finishing outside the top 4, that's the danger of Ole trying again to play him into form. He has to have an influence and not just be a body to bring on.

Has to be sold in next 9 days but won't be of course due to stupid valuation
