It’s going to be Joginho vs Kante, who would have thought that? I wonder how would Ballon D’or go?

Jorginho wasn't outstanding in either the Euros or the Champions League. He's just simply nowhere near the best players in the world, so shouldn't get near the Ballon d'Or.

For this award, Kanté deserves it for the rare distinction of being man of the match in both semi-final legs and the final.
He didn't even make it into the Premier League's team of the season  Jorginho was part of a well-oiled machines, he was part of two really good teams, but it's an individual award and he was absolutely nowhere near being one of the best players in Europe.
Oh sorry none of man utd player not even in top 10.So sad.:D
PFA team of the year was noticeably absent of Chelsea players, they were deemed to be not good enough to make it into a best XI of their peers who they'd played against over the course of a 38 game season but somehow they're 2 of the 3 best players in Europe? Seems flawed to me.

Jesus, to vote on this award you really do only ever have to watch the CL final and World Cup/Euros final.

Jorginho shouldn't be anywhere near this, he wasn't the best or most important player in either of his teams. Kante and De Bruyne both should have been around individual awards like this more than they have in the past, but neither has had their best season by any measure. So it's sort of fair to include them, but inaccurate. Haaland should be in the top 3. And Bruno should be in the 10 somewhere.

Managers is a more sensible selection. Maybe I'm biased, but I think Galtier should be in the three. Finishing above PSG with that squad is not unlike Ranieri finishing above the PL big boys.

Jorginho, from the three here. The actual right answer is Lewandowski though.

Torn between Mancini and Tuchel for the best coach award.

Team accomplishments should be used as tiebreakers for outstanding individual performances. Jorginho shouldn’t win this.

how on earth Crsitiano and Messi make the list?? Why is Messi above Lewandowski?
Do you even watch football?
Messi and Cristiano still had better individual season than most of the players in the world. They may not be Cristiano or Messi of 3-4 years ago, but they are still better than anybody else in the world. They may a few bad games and maybe outperformed by few others, but overall. Whether objectively or subjectively Messi and Cristiano are still the best around the world.
Cristiano had a good season with Juve, not his fault Juve was handled by Italian coaching version of Lampard. He was excellent in Euro.
And Messi has been the best player since the start of 2021.

Seriously this anyone but Cristiano and Messi hipster attitude is annoying.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time

To be fair, Jorginho is one of the key reasons (arguably the most important reason) why those teams were 'well-oiled'. He provides a fantastic stability in the middle of the field both on and off the ball, and while he's not the best at any one thing there's very few who provide a better balance. He shouldn't win the award but being in the top 10 is understandable for me.

De Bruyne is the joke for me. I'm a huge fan of his ability (unfortunately), but he had his worst season since joining City. He wasn't even in the top three attacking midfielders in the league last season, with (just off the top of my head) Bruno, Grealish and Mount being comfortably better.

These kind of selections and awards are just comedy. Nothing more.

DeBruyne? Kante? Jorginho? They wern't even best players in their own clubs last year.

Absolute joke. Flick didn't make coach of the years despite winning the treble last years.
This year he comfortably won the Bundesliga.
What did Solskjaer achieved? Top 4, exit in the CL in the group stages.
Same accounts for Kasper Hjulmand. He reached the semi final but didn't beat any top team and lost 3 games out of 6. Nothing to write home of.
Southgate is another one who shouldn't be there. Lost the final and the team played poorly most of the time. Edging past one of the worst German teams in history should not give you a top 10 ranking.
The achievement of the Swiss national team was much more impressive.

Kante is the best player at Chelsea.

Haaland was not in the Euros and Bruno was on the bench during the Euros.
De Bruyne played 1 complete game in the euros, and had one of his worse seasons stat wise.
You can't count Kante's Euros participation as a positive?
I have no idea what Jorginho is doing there.

It is a UEFA award. It will focus on UEFA competitions. De Bruyne, Kante, Jorginho were in the CL final. Jorginho was on the Euro winning team. Not really a shocker.

Because he only won the Bundesliga again.

Kante played a massive part in Chelsea winning the CL. He was their best player in most of the important games.

Jorginho had a good Euros. Bonucci was Italy's best player for me but he won nothing else and Jorginho also won the CL.

De Bruyne is a sympathy vote for getting his face hurt in CL final and losing.
Wasn't he injured for the CL tie which Bayern got kicked out?

Didn't Jorginho miss the game winning pen in the Euro's final? Feel like that kinda disqualifies you.

We need to stop this thing of just giving awards to players who have won the major trophies.

I'd give it to Kante. Although he's not the best player in the world, his efforts in the semis and final of the CL were terrific. He's also generally much better at what he does than Jorginho.

Weak choices this year though.

Should have given defender of the year to Rudiger instead of Dias, to be honest

Don’t understand how Kante can win midfielder of the year yet a different midfielder can win player of the year, it makes zero sense.
