If his fee is as low as reported, why aren't we swooping in for him? If only to show some muscle?

Haaland is supposedly a big, big fan of him as well, which might come in handy a year from now.
We're struggling to afford midfielders we need, let alone attackers we don't.

Just glad the only person reporting this as done is the journo who claimed Gaitan was joining us for almost a decade.

All the Italian papers claimed things didn't go well when his agent met Juve this morning and that they won't accept the terms City are willing to offer

The idea that he’s not a United legend is contradicted by just how rampant this thread is. It’s potentially causing the biggest of meltdowns. There’s no way just another “good player” for our club would cause this much uproar.

Indeed. Tons of people burning their Ronaldo posters when in reality, nothing has happened.

This. Why is everyone losing their minds now when no one reputable has come out and confirmed it? Are these same people that are saying bad things about him now going to be saying the same if we swoop in?

If true it’s a bitter pill to swallow, But, if it removes City from the Haaland chase next summer then it could be a very dark cloud with a huge silver lining.

The boos will be deafening if he does to City.

Hated by Rio, Neville, SAF, Rooney and Grylte!

What a way to ruin literally everything about his time at United.
fixed it for you :)

The new Figo

To be fair he only said it would be very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very difficult, not impossible. And he spoke about possibly changing his mind at age 30, not 36. Also he only mentioned Qatar and not Abu Dhabi. I think he's in the clear.

Did they throw a cows-head or goats-head at Figo when he returned? And how is the english equivalent going to look like? Any ideas yet?

He is a United legend. Currently.

If he goes to City, that changes.

This isn't Andy Cole or Peter Schmeichel going to a shit City team. This is Ronaldo going to a team that is our direct rivals and strengthening them and making our chances of winning trophies more difficult.

Hey, Andy Cole did it, and if it's good enough for Andy....
Schmeichel too. Didn’t do him any harm.

I’m not sure why people are only annoyed at him now. Even if he moves to city at 36, which I doubt he will, so what? It‘s more wrath-worthy that he left us at 24 to give his prime years to another club imo.

His love for Portugal is clearly the greatest, but i'd say his relationship with RM is clearly above those other two, considering how hard he pushed to move there in the first place, and the length of his stay.
Agreed, but even with Madrid, the way he left and came out with his interview making the headlines all about him straight after winning the UCL isn't something you do to a club you have a great relationship with.

This is just a stopgap imo before they get Haaland next summer

Well, that's one way of looking at it. Clearly and fully wrong (even borderline crazy), but different I'll give you that.

He's absolutely right. He really does 'get it' doesn't he. A proper football man and a proper United man.
Yet Ole gets more shit than the slave Ronaldo does from our own fans.

Don't know how people are comparing this to the Andy, Peter and Denis moves.

They were a shit City.

This is a City where they are the best team in the league.

There's a difference. It was bad then. It's even WORSE now.

I don't really care personally if it does happen, but I would hope the fans give him a tough time if he plays against us.

I guess most of his animosity was towards Perez, though yes, not the best way to leave.
