You can't blame a player for going to City when the opportunity is there for United to sign him and we don't exercise that option
If he was a free agent, it would be one thing, but this appears to be more of a case of him and his agent pursuing City and possibly PSG, two clubs who they believe are more likely to fulfil Ronaldo’s goals, because an opportunity has presented himself. The story appears to be them approaching City aggressively after Kane stalled and fell through.

I welcome it tbh.

36 year old Ronaldo is a hinderence to a team dynamic and peps style of play in my opinion.

Bollocks. He does.
There is nothing suggesting he does.

He doesn't care about the club nor does he have an affinity with the club.

He thought he was a slave here. Wanted to leave numerous times. Constantly had Mendes use the club to get contract extensions at Real. The fact United fans adore him so much is sickening and embarrassing honestly.

Him going to City will finally open up some eyes for our fans I'd hope.

For you old feckers, what was the reaction to Denis Law going to City from matchgoing fans?

Haha I edited it out before you quoted me because I read the post above mine clarifying he didn't actually relegate us. It must be one of those myths that just gets repeated often.

If he goes I wonder how his relations with SAF will be. Ferguson would be bitterly disappointed I'm sure.
I think that's what fans would like to believe but realistically Fergie won't like it but I can't see it affecting his relationship with Ronaldo. Fergie will still appreciate the service and trophies Ronaldo helped him win and the good relationship they've had while Ronaldo will appreciate the guidance and mentorship for the early part of his career.

But we're fans, we don't need to concern ourselves with that. We get to call him a Judas cnut.

If this actually happens, can we go back to "Ronaldo" meaning the goofy Brazilian?

The Portuguese chap can be C. Ronaldo or something you imaginative people can think up.

We can call him a fecking twat.

Amazing that your point was made on something you then had to remove. So no point? :smirk:

From my point of view it's worse because we didn't at least give him an offer and aren't getting a DM either rubs it in even more
I'm pretty sure we did try and sign him back in the past but he just used us for a better contract at Real.

We were just a stepping stone for him. Nothing more.

It's hilarious reading through this thread and seeing people make claims that Ronaldo is "past it" or "finished" or "won't improve City"

His goal return in the past two seasons is 36 and 37.

But yeah, he's shot to bits!

And that is the reason why i don't understand why most fans still like Schmeichel and Cole.
Because both were done at the top level by that point. Whether Ronaldo can do it in the EPL still, and in a Pep system, will be interesting to see.

It's a pathetic move by him though, especially as he still has a contract at Juve.

Seems like only the oil boys can offer Ronaldo and Messi the $$$ they've come to expect due to Covid.

I don't care if they were done at top level....both aren't club legends.

I want to see how big it's his PR machine about this transfer and the way they handle the United fans calling him Judas. You will see more and more stuffs like he talked to SAF anf things like that.

Well no, because I wanted to find out how United fans took to Denis Law leaving us for City, regardless of whether or not his goal relegated us. Though that would've be the cherry on the icing.
