Martial needs to be sold pronto.

Lingard would need to be sold for wages as well, likely will take 15-20m from West Ham.

Do we cancel Cavani’s contract if he is gone in October?

What impact on the potential Haaland move next summer?

Why the feck would we cancel Cavani? He's great.

We can consider selling Martial, sell Lingard, those types.

The implication is he will lift the standards of everyone
This. Boost in terms of mood, quality, determination, inspiration and everything else.

Already looking forward to the unveiling video.

Unfortunately Clingard is staying but I could see Cavani going to Boca given the covid restrictions issue. Martial won't be sold either and I don't see us going for Haaland if Ronaldo is on a 2 year deal.

We can start by letting go of the worst players. Sort by their quality not age. Then you realize we don't really have that much quality younger players to begin with. I dont see any problem other than getting a decent fee for them...

We'll need Cavani on board too if the plan is to go all out attack and to hell with a DM.

No one is buying Anthony, loan him and see if he can have the Lingard effect.

Pep will have a total meltdown that somebody dared reject him and his chequebook.

Bruno will likely stop taking penalties, despite being better at them.

Martial will become surplus to requirements, as will Lingard.

Bit stupid not to go for haaland next season when his release clause comes into play. Otherwise we'll be in a position the next year we'll be without a striker.

It'll make United even an even more attractive destination, probably even after Ronaldo eventually moves on.

Still think there’s more signings on the horizon.

CR7 was just too good of an opportunity to turn down

Cavani I don't think will be used a whole lot and will be allowed to go to Uruguay. Martial firm backup. Sancho/Greenwood/Rashford to rotate on the wings, Pogba occasionally too. Lingard never really had many games, Ronaldo doesn't affect anyone's game time but Martials (not good enough) and Cavani's (wants to play for his country more anyway).

Basically Ronaldo replaces Martial. He and Cavani will be the first team players. Martial won’t be sold this summer - no time - but his days are numbered. He might get cup games

Other than that, not much changes. Obv selling squad players we don’t need is important, but that was already true.

Lingard might move. Can't see anyone buying Martial with his transfer fee and wages.

I think it means no Haaland next year, and go with Greenwood the year after.

If Bruno says 'no' to giving up penalties, then the answer is obviously no. The thing is he's not gonna say no because of the implication.

My hope is that Ronaldo forces us to spend on the midfield. He knows how his supply lines look, the issues he had at Juve and he has the reputation, respect and personality to state that issue which noone at United, not even Bruno, can to Ole and the board. It's not a signing based on just his quality, it's us saving him from Juventus and giving him a hero's farewell.

Martial is already surplus to requirements, but it appears Ole didn't get the memo.

The implications are:

We have to mount a title challenge, absolutely no excuses.

The board will have to continue showing ambition throughout his stay.

Pretty, pretty, pretty good.

It was unlikely to happen anyway but there’s no way Pogba gets offered a new contract that’s agreeable to him and Raiola now.

It's a long season and we need plenty of veteran options. If anything it eases the problems we had with Cavani being gone so much and having to quarantine every time. A depth chart of Rashford, Ronaldo, Sancho, Martial, Greenwood, Cavani and James looks good to me for a front three. If anything, it should be our ambition to win every cup we're in because we can finally rotate a little more than before.

I don't know why people assume this impacts our ability or desire to sign Haaland. I genuinely don't think that's the case at all.
