Feet up at home.
Oh and agent Bruno well done. Well done Rio and Patrice.

But Agent Fergie you are the man who just keeps on giving, we all love you.

According to Rio, City were never on the cards.

He also says that transfer deadline day 'will be mad'. I don't know if that's just him promoting his channel, or if he knows something more. But I can't wait to find out!

I am glad he's back.

Following the transfer thread was wild. I was trying to accept he would go to City and then Solskjær and Guardiola nearly told us it was a move to United.

Does anyone think there’s anything to read in the current squad reactions via social media so far? I haven’t seen a reaction from notably Pogba.

I’m inclined to think no reaction is a sign of not being too happy or about to leave.
He can't post today as he's too busy finalizing his new contract.

I just realised my reaction to the Villareal game was sinking to my knees head in hands in despair and when I saw the Ronaldo confirmation earlier I fell to my knees in utter utter joy and disbelief and excitement with tears of joy in my eyes.

Then my 7 year old came home from his friends and I got to tell him Ronaldo signed for United out of the blue and ending up doing laps of the back garden with him in my arms throwing him up in the air. While he loves Ronaldo hes had to listen to me for years reminiscing about how great it was seeing Ronaldo play for us and now he will see it as well, its utterly mind blowing.

Oh and teaching my 2 year old to say Ronaldo has been great fun as well.

What a day.
That completely kills any cynicism I've got about this move. I'm really glad you got so much joy out of it. Honestly, it's pretty beautiful.

I'm calling it now. No transfer window will ever be like this one ever again. It's one of those rare moments, like where was you when Princess Dianna died. In years to come you'll get asked where was you when Cristiano Ronaldo came home.

Watching this it seems Rio slips up that Cavani is giving up the shirt for Ronaldo.

Only if it doesn't work out in the long run. The signing itself would please any professional. You don't get chances to work with GOATs often.

We’ve got the unveiling of Ronaldo and don’t forget Varane. Unbelievable to think that signing one of the worlds greatest defenders is going to be a sideshow and as for Sancho, well that’s just a ‘PS’ at the bottom of the page.

Unbelievable excitement and expectation !

He's definitely heard something. It's mentioned in the athletic article that Rio was heavily involved in the deal and is close with Woodward. Howson seems to think there's more business to come so wouldn't surprise me if Rio has let some info slip to him again.

I'll admit I was wrong

I never thought he'd come back honestly. I was literally stunned and in disbelief when I saw the banner on redcafe.
I reckon we all were! I had some loose belief that he’d come back to us, mostly because we’re one of the few teams who can afford him and I do think he has real affection here, but when City came into the mix it was game over! Even for Ronaldo fans it wasn’t about where he would go, but how can they manage that cognitive dissonance. This one was right out of left field! Seemingly even for the United staff. The story from the Athletic is a bit mad. How could it be that the United hierarchy didn’t know he was ready to come to England until after he was set on a move to City?!

Great story in any case!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most-liked_tweets

United's tweet to announce Ronaldo is not close to the most liked tweet ever (7M) but at 1.7M so far it must be one of the most-liked tweets from the world of football? Most of the ones on the Wiki page above are k-pop related but no football-related tweets. Ed will be thrilled.
Our official account's most liked tweet before today was this, with 214,000 likes (and what a tweet )

So after 8 hours we've beaten it by some 1.4 million :lol:

Was 11 years old when Ronaldo left in 2009. Was at my summer swimming gala when the news dripped through he was leaving to real Madrid, started crying while waiting for my race haha. Jesus Christ words can't express how happy I am to have him back, and to not have to face the child hood killing reality of city .

This is big big news, I only wish it happened in 2013 when it was originally supposed to, but what can you do. Roll on Newcastle on the 11th until I destroy my vocal chords in the Stretford end!

Viva Ronaldooooo

F*ck me this is big. I keep reading it again and again and again, but it's like my brain can't quite digest it. Jesus wept, what a window!

Every current and former United player who has tweeted @ Cristiano today has probably hit their biggest numbers ever too! Edwin VDS is at 170k, Bruno 36k5, Evra 92k, Schmeichel 83k, Maguire 162k... Rio has had about 450k from about four Ronaldo-related tweets.
