Will Bruno leave penalties and free kicks to Ronaldo now?

I want to see him Smash a free kick into the top corner but I also do not want him on free kicks

What's Ronnie's record like? Bruno is Mr. Automatic pretty much. Like Jorginho, when it's almost as a sure thing as you can get in football, you stick to it. It's not about ego either with Bruno considering he gave up a hattrick last year to let Martial get a goal.

I do hope that Ole shows a bit of balls and tells Ronaldo that he isn't taking free kicks. We all know that he's hopeless at them and Bruno is a much much better option for those.

Pens wise... I don't know. I think Bruno and Ronaldo are equally good at those.

Don't know what the freekick situation is when they are both playing for Portugal but I certainly expect Ronaldo to be on pens. As someone else says, I'd be happy for him to also take long freekicks but anything near the box needs to be Bruno.

Without looking at the stats, I'd imagine Fernandes is a better penalty taker but he'll let Ronaldo take them anyway because a) it's Ronaldo and b) he's great at them himself.

Free kicks? Wouldn't be surprised if Fernandes has scored more for us (in literally half the time) than Ronaldo managed at Juve. So maybe he should stand his ground a little there!

Seriously, why isn't this tactic used more?

If you have a righty and lefty running at the ball at the same time, it's gonna make the keeper make a step or delay a step, surely?
I think it's why Fred is always standing over them whispering to Bruno. "Let's do that Beckham Giggs free-kick.

Bruno politely declines, because he doesn't want to be put out for a throw in.

This topic is curious but the free kicks would be really stupid to do that.

When Bruno misses two consecutive pens Ronnie can take over, Bruno can have the free kicks or Marcus for longer ones.

Bruno is miles ahead in pens, he's almost guaranteed a goal. I'd rather he take it (and for my FPL) but given Ronaldo's obsession with scoring goals, it's a given he'll take pens. We also will see less of them because of the knee-jerk changes go refereeing guidelines this season, so hopefully there won't be any crucial misses.

As for FKs, Pogba is our best FK to taker at short distances, he is always close or thereabout and given more opportunities, he'll score more.

For the long ones, I care less because they're unlikely to go in, so I'd actually give Rashford a go there.

Bruno should continue taking penalties for sure, feck all this “try telling Ronaldo he’s not taking them” bollocks. Pick the best man for the job.

Bruno should be taking both, but Ronaldo's ego will not allow it. I don't trust Ole to be firm and tell him that they're Bruno's.

There's a reason Ronaldo's been blasting freekicks into orbit for 3 different teams. You're not taking him off set pieces.

Interesting question. Bruno has insanely good record on penalties. Hope Cristiano won't be territorial and let it go, but if he asks I guess Bruno will have to yield :D Who was taking penalties in Portugal national team?

Um, this is actually kinda easy to handle for a manager. Ronaldo is coming pre-retirement, telling him that if he takes FKs and penalties away from Bruno, it will impede Bruno's development while Ronaldo should be helping younger lads to develop is solid logic. But yeah - Ole can be spineless in situations like this, so who knows what he will do

That’s up to the manager to decide. If he has the balls or not.
Harsh to judge Ole's testicular fortitude on a call like that. Till date not a single manager has been able to get Ronaldo off freekicks, not even Zidane.

I'd say leave them to him. What's the harm really?

So that "pale blue dot" the astronomers claim to be the earth photograped from Voyager 1, is a football. Brian Cox needs to get it right.

CR7 will take both penalties and free kicks. I'm good with the penalties. both are great at them. But CR7 is not good at free kicks. Sure, when they go in they are usually spectacular. But 99 times out of 100 it is either blasted into the wall or over the goal (and please, before someone tries to prove that number wrong, learn to read between the lines)...

Bruno idolize Ronaldo, and Ronaldo takes all penalty for Portugal, so it’s plain obvious Ronaldo will take all penalties for us.

Same could go for freekick, but I think Ronaldo will let Bruno take some of those

Bruno is arguably the best pen taker in the world. Isn't his record almost flawless?

But Ronaldo will take pens.

Ronaldo’s penalty taking skill is underrated on here.
Don't really think so, he is excellent but, it's just that Bruno like Jorghinho are on another level when it comes to penalties. I know Ronnie didn't really recognize this for Portugal but, hopefully when it comes to United, realizes he hasn't missed but, 1 and we've had a truck load since he has been here and more so hope Ole shows some fortitude.

Penalty, yes but I am afraid of Freekicks. Bruno is far better at it now and hoping Ronaldo will improve at freekicks.

When Ronaldo is in the team, it's not even a choice. He gets to take both penalties and free kicks even if Bruno is the better one.

Bruno's stats at free kicks for us is poor so i have no idea why anyone wants him to stay on duty for that.

In 82 games he has scored two goals from free kicks despite taking a couple in every game whereas in 292 games for us Ronaldo scored 13 free kicks
