The one weird thing is that if Amad was not injured, I doubt James would be sold. Now that Amad is staying, but will only be out for a couple of months, the club needs to move someone on to meet registration quotas.
That's a fantastic deal for us if it goes through. Fee is pretty much double what many would have expected us to achieve.

Anyway, it was never against him personally, just no need for us to pick him purely on ”work rate”. We should be picking our team for us not worrying about anyone else.
£30m is a great price but it really does boggle the mind as to why he started at the weekend then ahead of players we are certain we're keeping or more unsure of like Lingard. If that was really his last chance that's also a bit odd that we're making decisions like that about players so late on.
