Can't wait for the men's final. Thread will be moving from "it's coming home", to " it's going to (fecking) Rome".
Repeat of AO or someone fancy a Medvedev upset?
I fully expect and hope Medvedev puts up a better fight and do give him a chance. While Djokovic was great in the AO final, I recall Medvedev collapsing somewhat after losing a tight first set.

I think it may be similar to the Berrettini final at Wimbledon where I think Medvedev will get a set but ultimately be outclassed.

I think Medvedev can't afford to go behind in the match which ultimately is a big ask.

Any one else feeling the impact of staying up late the past two nights? I feel like I only have somewhere between 4 short sets or 2/3 long sets in me for tonight.

It's not so much last night which fecked me but bailing out on Djokovic vs Zverev at 4.30am

Yeah staying up tonight isn't an option for me. If I see that Novak is down two sets I'll head to bed then knowing that he'll win his 21st slam and just watch the highlights of the rest of the game tomorrow at some stage

Djokovic in three, or maybe just about four reasonably comfortable sets.

Don't see Medvedev giving away this set. Ice cold so far. Djokovic with a massive amount of serve and volley.

We've seen this story many times. Now Djoko will start to play. Medvedev really needs to avoid going down an early break.

That's the key. Served brilliantly but the serving two first serves tactic is one that can unravel if he's not careful

Think it's still the way to win though. Just blow him away without giving him the chance to really bite down.

Easier said than done obviously.

If Medvedev keeps this up, he'll cruise it in 3. A class above so far. Would be massive if he does it.

For the first time in his entire career, Djokovic actually looks quite leggy and tired, never seen him like this before

Probably cruise to a 4 set win now :wenger:

Medvedev needs to win this 2nd set as Djokovic is clearly out of sorts. He loses this set and Novak may relax a bit and start playing closer to his normal game.

Not watching but is Djoko doing that thing where he plays dead and then suddenly comes back?

Djokovic is such an unlikable cnut. He acts like that and then cries about not having the same respect and adoration Nadal and Federer enjoy. All the talent and none of the class.

We just need the umpire to give him a time violation now and I'll start believing in a Medvedev win.

Medvedev will need two breaks if he needs to win this set.
Geez his having a massive breakdown. Don't see him coming back from this.
You haven't learnt from watching Novak, have you? The man can be in the midst of a total meltdown, look dead and injured and he'll still be zipping around in the 5th set and winning it 6-2.
