Absolutely sinful. No plan B at all. The second AWB was sent off we were under the kosh. It was relentless. Our passing was the most worrying sign.

It is a big humbling, brought down to earth day. Better early in the season rather than later, I guess?

Yeah, I'm not having that. Logic like this will leave us trophyless longer than Arsenal.

Adjust your expectations or go support Plymouth.
After the red card, the game is difficult any way you cut it. Maybe it was a bit negative from Ole, but going to 10 men puts us at a massive disadvantage regardless. Ole can't do anything about the brain fart from Lingard right at the end. I doubt Pep or Klopp would have done any better in the circumstances.

An inept tactical display of what not to do when you go down to 10 men. Sit deep, bring on defensive players, continually give the ball away. No pace up front, no composure on the ball, best attacking players subbed off. We fully deserved to lose tonight against the 4th ranked team again. Very poor from the management team.

What horrible horrible game all around

Think i get a few days off the forum i get too needlessly wound up from these kind of games

For the sake of not being too reactionary i say Ronaldo and Bruno lineup looks good

Not many if any positives to be taken from the game to be honest hope we bounce up for the hammers and those viareal feckers

Embarrassing. Got what we deserved. Horrific in-game management yet again. The changes after the sending off were so bizarrely negative. How we managed to leave our best attacker so far this season sat on the bench to play Jesse Lingard as a lone fecking striker is just too far beyond me.

I’m gonna go take a break, try to get some work done and clear my head before posting again.

Bejesus.

Way too defensive. Going 3 at the back and later bringing on Matic basically handed them the three points. Feel sorry for Lingard as he’ll be the headline story but to be honest they peppered us with that many shots the game was lost as soon as the red card came.

Would have liked Ole to show some balls and gone on the offensive with Greenwood brought on.

Early enough in the group that it’s still all in our own hands is the only positive.

If United played every PL game with 10 men, they would be relegated and posting a record like Derby and Sheffield United. Playing a man down for so long is a massive disadvantage, especially against a side that knows how to win and has dominated their league. It was no surprise to see Young Boys become full of confidence as soon as the balance of power swung in the match.

I’m not sure what were the right decisions for the manager to make. It’s hard to get a shot off when your star centre-forward channels his inner Martial and looks for a penalty when presented with a golden chance on the counter. The game could have been so different.

I imagine we are odds-against to qualify now and are completely up against it. It was always going to be a tough group when Atalanta came out of Pot 3.

It wasn’t that bad. We didn’t start with our strongest XI. It was a bit of an experiment in the first game of the group stage. It backfired yes but it’s worth it for the long run to try that midfield.

The weakest part of Manchester United is the manager.
Get Zidane ASAP.

Chelsea wouldn't have lost from that position, neither would Liverpool or City. They would have known how to close out the game. Absolutely clueless decisions by the manager .
City lost at home to a 10 man Leeds. Shit happens.

That was gutting. That was an easy game we were in total control over, ruined by one moment of idiocy by AWB. The team defended admirably but it is so difficult with 10 men. However, I do feel Ole has mishandled this game, even if we wanted to hold out for 1-0 we should have had a threat going forwards of which we had none, so we just got pummelled for 45 min. Lingard will take a lot of flack too, but can’t help but feel that he should have been higher up the pitch, the whole Martial for Fred change with Lingard dropping deeper played a part in this.

Ole must get out of the group stages this year. This is unneeded pressure, as we have to beat the harder teams now. AWB is an idiot, he has had a poor start to the season and this compounds it, hope he bounces back against West Ham.

Did you see Tuchel’s Chelsea at Anfield a few weeks ago. A master class with 10 men.

We need to be looking for a CM. Plus, Ole needs to have someone more technical added to his coaching team. I don't see why that is a problem. We need to be better drilled.

Anyway, we move on.

We were 30 seconds from closing it out if not for a brain fart from Lingard. I'm sorry, but I don't see how that's on Ole.

Wait young boys play in the "wankdorf" stadium? Surely that whole club is just taking the piss?

Still, best banner in football ever was us having a banner saying our Dick doesn't like young boys when Advocaat was our manager.

The decisions made from half time onwards were all quite terrible, shocking game management in Europe once again costs us dearly.

Bring on Martial with 3 minutes left for no discernable reason and hey, ho, Lingard pops up in Fred's position to gift them the winner.

Looking forward to the next instagram update Lingardinho.

Id like to think we will twat these cnuts at home. AWB cost us and Jesse made a big mistake. Please dont go overboard the plastics amongst us.
Plastic is a key word, as that freak pitch made them look like some sort of high energy dons, rather than the league 1 outfit they are.
Add a red, dodgy tactics and that madness from Lingard and it's an absolute freak of an event all round.

No room for error now, and we might well need that 6th game now, when it could have been a dead rubber.

I think we'll be fine and get out of the group but my god that was poor.

Individual brain farts mixed with us having no interest in learning how to keep possession = losing to a tier 3 club
Luckily we'll still qualify given how poor the group is.
What makes you so sure? We just lost to the worst team, Villarreal pulled our pants down in the EL final & Atalanta are a good side.

I firmly believe Ole is dragging us into the EL again.

This is Ole's roller-coaster at the very best! We are not going to win anything important with him in charge.

This is worse than we played Wolves. YB deserve to win by more goals. Shameful.

Danny the only clown I see here is a fecking muppet coloured one in you. Just feck off and anyone like you. Plastic fecking moron

I can support the team, doesn't mean I have to support the clueless manager.

I don't blame the players for this loss, I don't even blame AWB for the red.The thing that lost us this was tactics after the sending off which made the mighty young boys look like prime bayern Munich.

Ole did everything wrong after the red.

Lingard shouldn't even have been subbed in. How was he going to affect the game? In addition to that, he was moved to midfield where he made that mistake. It's come to a point where I don't even blame him. He's not the one making the decisions.

Are the same people complaining the one who think Pogba is the second coming, gosh.

One-off, it happens.

You'd just want to know what Lingard was thinking.
Why was he even in that position, and why was he trying to play a left foot pass to the middle of the edge of his own box, when the keeper was around his own goal line anyway!?
