I said at the time when we let our rivals take clear runs at Tuchel, Nagelsmann etc that we would regret it, however I was mocked at the time…
Nah they are hipster coaches don't you know? You need managers that understand the club. Especially the not winning shit for years part of it

The fact that we still are unable to control games consistently despite the quality of the squad massively improving leads me to think Ole’s doing it on purpose. It seems to be his style to give up possession and always look to hit teams on the break but it’s not good enough. I know we lack a proper DM but this side should be more than capable of controlling a game against Aston Villa at home. Van Gaal was able to do it pretty quickly and consistently with a much poorer squad so why can’t Ole with far more technical players?

"Lingard mistake. Shit happens."

"It was a foul by Noble, should've had a penalty. Shit happens."

What is the excuse today for our 3rd loss in 4 games? This will be a good one.
according to some "Bruno missed the penalty, shit happens, otherwise we wouldn't have lost"

Owner Vincent Tan said: "Ole was hired by Cardiff City on our understanding and belief that he would help us fight relegation from the Barclays Premier League.

"After the club was relegated, many people advised me to let him go, but I decided to keep Ole on for the Championship season.

"Regrettably our recent results do not justify Ole's continued role as manager at Cardiff."

They lose their best player to City whilst we sign Varane, Sancho and Ronaldo and they prime Barcelona us.

Ole's a million levels below Dean, nevermind Pep and Klopp.
It's looking a heck of a lot like we're in a situation where literally just any competent opposition coach is going:

Coach A: 'Tips on how to beat United?'
Coach B: 'Oh, just use basic tactic A.'
Coach A: 'Which variant?' The gamma? The inverted sigma adjustment with the-
Coach B: 'No, just the vanilla tactic.'
Coach A: 'Haha. Very funny. No, really. Some tips on how to beat him.'
Coach B: 'Haven't you been watching them? Seeing everyone play them like that?'
Coach A: 'I have but, come on, who would possibly believe that-'
Coach B: 'I'm telling you. They have no idea what they're doing. Try it on Saturday and see.'

Two days later:

Coach A: 'Holy shit it worked.'
Coach B: 'Told you.'

Stadium going fans are turning as well . Just a couple of renditions of the song today with a lot of audible groans . Couple more losses and he is going to be under tremendous pressure

People will obviously call for Ole's head. Football is a results business and we have now already lost three games this season against opponents we should be beating. Having said that, all that has changed in our starting XI is Ronaldo has replaced Cavani and Varane has replaced Lindelof.

We struggle to get a foothold in games because it's the same midfield we had last season and that includes Fernandes, who, despite being a very good plays, acts on emotions too many times.

That being said, regards the game today, something wasn't working and nothing was changed by Ole. I get that the injuries didn't help, which restricted Ole to only one change, but I just think he needed to do things quicker today.
True, my concern pre season was that he's blown it by not sorting the midfield as priority. Ronaldo wasn't planned for and it has left us with a completely imbalanced squad.

And for the people who always blame the players. Which means blaming 5-6 players every bad games, one of the job of managers is to make sure the players are motivated, instructed and go into matches wanting to win the game. You can't just blame the players every time a bad game happens. Especially when the team is disjointed. It's why the manager job exist, you know, to manage. You can't just put top quality players and let them decide how to play the game and expect to win something. Villa is more organized than us and even able to outdone some of our players. That speaks volume.

Played with 9 men and basically no midfielders and he brings a striker on. Smash the ball long to Ronaldo, Mason, Bruno and Pogba and hope they do their magic. That's basically his tactical nous.

Villa didn't even park the bus today and we made them look like Barcelona. Villa, Villareal, what's the difference when they're made to look like they're coached by Pep or Prime Jose Mourinho?

Still plenty of time to have a good season but sadly I don't think we will. Still as inconsistent as before mixing great with absymal. Think Ole has taken us as far as he can.

Isn't he a bit embarrassed that he can't get a team so full of talent to play actual football? I'm not saying he should step down but I mean he surely has realised himself at this stage that this job is too big for him and his amateurish coaching stuff
He once said that if he felt he couldn't take the club any further that he would resign. Its coming to the point to see if his money is where his mouth is..

No, watch people blame the entire loss on the pen missed, as if it would have been a great result if it ended 1-1.

They will then come next game when we win and mock everyone for their previous wins, then act like they didn't start a fight.

We looked pedestrian when in Villa had men behind the ball and we were in possession. It’s up to Ole to sort this out but he seems to just rely on counter attacks. Well Ole, it’s not going to work every game pal.

Forget the results. Have the performances and style of play improved in the last three years?
If your answer is yes, you're a liar.

It feels as though this is probably the beginning of the end for the Ole era now. If we don't win our next CL game I don't fancy our chances of getting out of the group, and I don't think he survives that. The league is going to be extremely tough this season and slipping a few points behind now could see us out of the race by Christmas.

I think we'll have a new manager in the new year, but I hope I'm wrong.

He will be here until top 4 is in doubt, so no need to keep on about getting him sacked.

Sure, after this kind of a run. But he’s had this pressure more or less constantly.

Today was not good, but the players were awful at times. The amount of 5 yard passes that were misplaced, the amount of times DDG and Maguire got us in trouble (DDG had some great saves too). Fernandes neverminding skill and blasting it over, and Greenwood having no clue where his teammates are the moment he’s in the final third.

Still, starting to worry a little bit for project Ole, but I wouldn’t want to throw him out yet.

Just a note, Chelsea just lost at home to City, failing to register a single shot on or off target.
Chelsea are also reigning European champions because they did what we are too sentimental to do.

They are also on equal points despite having a harder start to the season, whilst we are crawling over the line against teams far inferior to us.

Let's see what the little goblin has to say after that masterclass.

Villareal next, another 0-1 defeat coming up after they soak up our clueless attack and hit us on the counter.

We can't wait until it's too late, why ruin this season as well? We can still fight for the title and CL, we need a proper manager that will coach a cohesive unit.
The board ain't like Chelsea's board, too much sentiment and be will hold onto Ole has much as they can. Truth is I can;t see the board ever having a backbone and being ruthless in that department to show they want trophies. They will keep Ole to thank him for getting top 4.

I think I'm giving up on Ole for the first time.

However, I'm also not feeling C Ronaldo.

As great as he is - we are playing with a 36 year old up front when our striker was looking to be Greenwood. Our RW was going to be Sancho.

Ronaldo was suddenly available and had suddenly had to be fit in.

Not liking the new team.
Ronaldo was clearly not the problem today. Greenwood was never going to be a regular starter at no 9 this year. Even if Ronny wasn’t clear Cavani would be playing in the spot in front of him.

I was Ole in for the past couple of years but I have to be fair. With this talent we should not be playing so poorly at home. I am not even looking at tactics and offensive pattern. The fact that Villa came in today and out worked us and beat us to so many second balls really irked me. I hate the fact that he keeps playing his favourites when all evidence suggests he needs to switch it up.

I mean, we’re literally not  or did you deem our Leeds and Newcastle matches to be insanely lucky?
The Newcastle game is overrated. It was a pretty close game at 1-1. The game only opened for us after Ronaldo's second goal.

So yeah, it wasn't actually a good game from us.

The thing is it is not just a one of game. This happens time and time again under Ole. It cant continue like that anymore. This is what I fear

This.
We have regressed as a team from last season.
I'm 100% Ole guy but it's such clear we have regressed big time.
The new signings as good as they are they have brought confusion to the team, and ( +, or -) intense pressure on the team and the team has crumbled.

Without Shaw we are in a very worrying situation.

For the first time in 3 years i feel SERIOUS questions needs to be asked about Ole. Players quality was questioned and somehow it was addressed, now it's time to question Ole input to the team.

I've been saying for years, Ole doesn't have a style of plan, I am struggling to see what our players could do, it's like they were making their own decision based on the situation they react to rather than following tactical. Obviously, we seem to prefer to counter quickly when we win the ball back but after a long period of us playing ball in possession, I just don't see what we're trying to do, just vibing. .

I’ve generally been of the opinion that Ole should be given time to build a capable squad, but we’ve pretty much reached that point now and there’s no avoiding the fact that this is a bad result. We really cannot afford to drop points in games like this.

I wasn’t too much fussed by the league cup loss, but the pressure is going to be on after today.

I think going forward, we just need to play Pogba or VdB deeper. I get that we probably won't be as solid as we usually are with McTominay and Fred, but you'd imagine we'd keep the ball better, which, as a result, pushes teams back more.

Today, Villa pushed onto us because they possibly knew we didn't have the midfield to cope with it.

That being said, they did do the same thing against Tuchel's Chelsea a couple weeks back and got a lot of success from it, despite losing 3-0 - a game that didn't reflect the score.

Even though I can now accept he is not the right manager to take the club to the next step, he will not be sacked anytime soon.

I really really like the guy but he's not cut out for the job anymore. The team has outgrown him.
