Signing Ronaldo will be his downfall in the end, because now we were really expected to progress and challenge for the title. When it is clear he can't deliver it, then people are going to want him gone. Which is exactly what we are seeing now, there's no excuses anymore.

After this game it's clear for me to see. We will not win a trophy under him. He is poor in cup competitions and competing with the best managers in the league. It's almost impossible. Let us be honest with ourselves. The expectation this season may be a title challenge but the objective is to win the league. Can anyone actually think we will win the league under him?

I'm done with him, sack him tonight. He is going to ruin our current team, we have amazing players but are absolutely shite as a team after almost 4 years.

I think I'm giving up on Ole for the first time.

However, I'm also not feeling C Ronaldo.

As great as he is - we are playing with a 36 year old up front when our striker was looking to be Greenwood. Our RW was going to be Sancho.

Ronaldo was suddenly available and had suddenly had to be fit in.

Not liking the new team.

People like scapegoats. Everyone is at fault, except Ole. We have changed everything football wise, except our League One manager
It’s at the point where I don’t even give out about him as a manager anymore, or even get angry at losses. Call me pessimistic but I go into far more games expecting us to struggle than I should. I expect shit performances but I hope someone comes up with a bit of magic to get the three points.

Think that performance has done it for me. Was usually an ole in guy despite knowing his tactical incapability.

Not changing the system before 60 minutes in today was criminal. Drawing and looking dire at home against villa and only made changes he was forced to (Dalot and lindelof) and waiting until 80 mins to bring cavani on. Genuinely mind boggling.

I want Ole to succeed but I think he’s gone by January now, our run of games are too tough and you can’t just hope Ronaldo keeps digging you out.

My biggest concern is who we replace him with.

You could throw another half a billion at him and he wouldn't get us to win anything. Can't have an amateur coach one of the biggest clubs in the world

He is a decent manager sat best who has a great team.

I don't think anyone can really argue with that at this stage.

If the club want to continue with that for the foreseeable future then we aren't very ambitious

We start slow and poor every game. Usually we wake up at the second half but didn't even manage that today. It stems all the way back to the start of last season as well.

He'll be sacked in December hopefully, no way he's keeping up with the top teams by next two months because he isn't going to change nothing.

We won't sack him. He just signed a contract. Glazers cannot afford another massive payout. And because it's ole, the fan base won't be as toxic as towards Jose. We will somehow manage to put some sort of run and eke into Top 4, which would be enough for some.

The only chance of it happening is if he loses the dressing room.

Only the Manager? How was Pogba, Ronaldo, Bruno today? No expectations to them? No performance requirements? These players need to step up!

He is making it hard now. Our football this season has been nothing but average.

I'm really not sure why all this melt down. Ole is a classic 8 & 8 coach as I have said many times. I'm surprised at the surprised reaction.

It’s not even that he made terrible decisions. It’s the amateurish disorganization on the pitch. When Maguire didn’t go off the players looked confused and just stopped playing for about 5 minutes. Even players that are typically composed looked nervous and unfocused. This is 100% on the manager and far from the first time we’ve witnessed a match like this.

We can't wait until it's too late, why ruin this season as well? We can still fight for the title and CL, we need a proper manager that will coach a cohesive unit.

It's the tactics I think. The 4231. Ole never changes it unless he is forced to because of injury. Thing is Utd don't really have the players for a 4231. It's always a flip of the coin if Utd win or lose. Tonight Villa deserved it. Ole needs to turn things around or Utd are going to be in deep trouble by Christmas.

People will obviously call for Ole's head. Football is a results business and we have now already lost three games this season against opponents we should be beating. Having said that, all that has changed in our starting XI is Ronaldo has replaced Cavani and Varane has replaced Lindelof.

We struggle to get a foothold in games because it's the same midfield we had last season and that includes Fernandes, who, despite being a very good plays, acts on emotions too many times.

That being said, regards the game today, something wasn't working and nothing was changed by Ole. I get that the injuries didn't help, which restricted Ole to only one change, but I just think he needed to do things quicker today.

I want to give Ole till January, but if we lose against Villareal (which would mean 4 defeats before October) it would not be a good look for Ole.

Also, who would replace him? I don't think Conte would be a good fit for us - it'll be Mourinho v2. Zidane doesn't speak English.

"Lingard mistake. Shit happens."

"It was a foul by Noble, should've had a penalty. Shit happens."

What is the excuse today for our 3rd loss in 4 games? This will be a good one.

I defend him, but really the excuses stop this season.

Hes in his 3rd season now and the squad (which he deserves credit for btw) is as good as it has been in a very long time. Now granted, Villa are a good side and we were quite unfortunate to lose this match, its still not good enough.

Everyone seemed to be playing in 2nd gear today and there were schoolboy errors left, right.and center If its one or two players, thats on them, but when the whole team plays like a bunch of Sunday league players who just had a couple of pints, thats on the fecking manager.

Sacking him now is clearly knee jerk, but he really need to step up to keep his job

Villa also missing a good player in bailey. I just knew when we didn't score in the first half that any decent manager would get his team in at half time and nulify us.

Can’t drop Fernandes though, as he’s our best player. Can’t play any other formation with him either. We’re stuck with it.

I said at the time when we let our rivals take clear runs at Tuchel, Nagelsmann etc that we would regret it, however I was mocked at the time…

Tried quite hard to stay away from the Ole discussion this year but he's doing nothing to disprove my conclusion that he's just not good enough. I've been waiting since the start of last season for us to string together 3-4 good performances together in a row and we're still incapable of doing that.

We struggle against the same type of teams every single time. The moment we face any type of press in our own half like we've seen today or against Southampton, we lose our ability to progress the ball entirely.

Throw ins straight to opposition players, unneccessary set pieces given away, players all trying to be heroes, a scuffed De Gea kick straight to the opposition... there's a whole selection of nonsense that we see every single time we come under pressure, and it's been the same for his entire tenure.

Isn't he a bit embarrassed that he can't get a team so full of talent to play actual football? I'm not saying he should step down but I mean he surely has realised himself at this stage that this job is too big for him and his amateurish coaching stuff

United minus the Glazers
I think this defeat hurts more because it is now glaringly clear Ole needs to vacate his post. We’ve got a star studded squad and he has no clue how to build up from the back. I’ll be absolutely shocked if anyone at all advocates for him continuing as United manager.

We did well signing him on and he has reinstated some stability in the squad but he is now out of his depth.

He's incredible shit as a coach and is incredibly lucky. The strangest thing is how many (seem to be English) supporters he has. How everyone can't see how underwhelming we play, it's very strange. He would get fired at any other club and the fans would demand it too. We're lost.
Honestly our fanbase is just bad at football. Like horrifically bad. You could put a game of rounders on at OT on matchday and our fanbase wouldn't know any better. We're quite a unique club in that respect.
