God only know where these people get such nonsense from. That being said, football is a results business, which mean if you're not winning, tactically, something is wrong.

Ole always stressed the importance of a strong foundation. He's mentioned a few times that titles are won from a strong defence. At the moment, we're anything but, conceding 15 in 9 games.

What Ole should be doing now is changing something because whatever he's doing at present clearly isn't working.

It's almost as if he's got in his head that because he's in his third season, he has to win games a certain way because he's managing United, but since he's been here, he's won games by being quite pragmatic and hard to beat.

This season, we're pressing up the pitch (not in an organised way) and we're getting picked off left, right and centre, even with McTominay and Fred at the base.

Now, it seems that the board are going to stick with Ole, and he will have my full support, but it will infuriate me if he goes with the same system against Spurs on Saturday.

We need to go back to the drawing board, be hard to beat, instill that confidence back and go from there.

When Tuchel got appointed, he identified that Chelsea struggled defensively in a 4 man back line. He switched it up to 5 and Chelsea have looked a lot better for it.

Now, I'm not saying Ole needs to change to a 5 at the back but when he said something got to give, we haven't seen anything of the sort from a tactical point of view. He dropped Pogba from the deeper midfield role and the same nonsense is happening. Therefore, we know it's nothing to do with personnel but more so the tactics and team set up. Time to change things up, Ole!
If Ole is there for Tottenham, he needs to stop the high press, its not working. Drop deep, stay organised, win the ball back and attack with pace. Do the basics that got him here.

So Fab's confirming the earlier reports that the board wants to give Ole more time. If this is true, I'd love to know the know the reasoning behind that decision. It makes no sense to me.
Do we have Princess Leia on the board scribbling 'HOPE' in black marker on the pro's and con's list.

All the briefings have done is told the players that all they need to do is lose against Spurs and he’ll be sacked, why do we brief so much?

Comical Ole could accidentally set Old Trafford on fire and burn it to the ground and still be backed by the complete cretins running our club.

It kind of depends how you look at it. Ultimately, he’s had two seasons where he’s met reasonable expectations. We are now on a run of 4 bad results in the league (albeit with the last one being a disaster). Would you usually expect a manager to be sacked in that scenario or be given time to turn it around?

It does feel likely it’s the end of the line for Ole in all honesty and he seemingly hasn’t been able to solve the tactical issues particularly around the defence. It’s been a fun couple of years though - he’s brought back a lot of the joy of watching United after the Van Gaal/Mourinho years. Hopefully, the board are taking their time to get the right replacement lined up.
It's been a season of disappointing performances, slightly hyped by 2 big wins against a woeful Newcastle, and a super naive Leeds.
The other wins have either been late steals, or due to the opposition missing a last min pen.

1 point from Villa and Everton at home, then smashed v Leicester and Liverpool surely has to culminate in the end.
The whole team is playing under par with the possible exception of De Gea, which is strange irony after his last 2 years with a catalogue of costly errors.

All I'm seeing in this thread are a bunch of high achievers, not one unemployed or lazy person in sight.

Hopefully we might see renewed protests in the grounds but what's more likely is the same deluded cretins who applauded Ole off the pitch on Sunday will be used to justify keeping the status quo.

They’re not football guys, that’s the problem. Nothing wrong with having these kinds of people on the board, but you also need people at the top who actually understand football. They’re financiers and not football men.

Why don't you say as usual Fab is copying other people's posts in pretence he knows something even though they totally contradict what he was posting previously?

To give the new manager a better set of fixtures? The first game sets the mood, it shouldn’t be City.
So just write off two games completely?

If a new manager comes in ahead of City it immediately gives a lift to the team and improves our chances.

Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
Man Utd is a rudderless ship.

An asylum where the lunatics are in charge.

The footballing equivalent of Boris Johnson’s cabinet.

There’s clearly no one in charge at Man Utd. Just greed, madness and idiocy.

It’s become a plastic, hollowed out notion of the footballing institution it used to be…

You can't imagine we've been caught totally cold by Sunday. There must have been a few talks about options and talks with different managers before hand surely.

It might take a bit of time to get the right manager in, and signed up, but that doesn't mean we should just write off the next few games.

It was only our hearts that wanted to see Ole given a contract beyond the caretaker period. Our minds always told us he didn't have the credentials. He served the required purpose during that caretaker spell and has done lots of good things. Unfortunately he looks totally defeated and out his depth. He could have had a useful role at United, but not as manager. He tried his best, but the longer he stays now the worse it's going to get for him. This should be a "mutual agreement" kind of departure.

If there’s any truth to the players spouting their mouth off to the press to speed up his departure then they will simply down tools in the next games.

Would hate to see that though. Would rather the club take the bull by the horns.

It may be a PR exercise in order to not make it look like it was a sacking purely off the back of that one horrendous result.
Perhaps if they are looking to move Ole into another role within the club they would rather do it during a more stable period, allowing to save face somewhat.

Doesn’t mean they aren’t then looking at alternatives, they absolutely should be because there is a high chance players start to down tools now anyway which would take it out of the boards hands including SAF.

Because the owners see OLE (whether people agree or not) the long-term answer, hence he was backed with funds and given a new 3 year contract. I doubt they will change their minds. If that was the case, he would have gone Monday Morning. We are top of the CL group and apart from the past 2 league game results we would be in a good league position. I’m “guessing” they are waiting for Sunday. If it doesn’t go well then, then my guess is he goes. If he gets a result then it’ll be onto City and see how that goes. I think they are just seeing if it’s a blip or irreversible.
Every manager post-SAF has been backed with funds though...we spend roughly the same each Summer, regardless of who the manager is

Its what I said should happen and it makes sense we're distancing ourselves from Conte. Let's hope the board don't lose their nerve now and allow the likes of Murtough, Fletcher, Bout, Lawlor and Court, make the decision. The board should not interfere in the decision making process.

I can see a repeat of the Liverpool protest again in the not so distant future. Wonder will the club be docked points this time.
