He's asking them to down tools when/if the manager is replaced?

Has to be a translation issue, no way he said that.
Obviously

It basically means that a new manager is likely to come in, but that doesn't mean that they should down tools on OGS.

He wouldn’t get a game for City because they require all players to work hard, press, run, trackback etc.
He was a true great in his pomp and he still has a fantastic shot on him but, at his age and given that he looks like he only plays walking football nowadays, he needs to be in a team that works tirelessly to give him opportunities for moment of glory.
He simply couldn’t fit into a team that has a high press because he’d leave a hole in the press that you could drive a coach and horses through.

He’s not with you for the football. The Glazers / Woodward bought him because his fame and celebrity would cause a temporary rise in your share price. That happened, the Glazers cashed in and are about to buy a cricket team with the proceeds, and the share price slumped again as they knew it would.

It doesn’t take away from the fact that he ‘s one of your former greats and that he’s doing his best to look after one of your former greats.
City tried to sign him in the summer...

Ah the good old its all cause of Ronaldo argument.
I don’t know about you but I was enjoying the relative stability and slow growth while things came together behind the scenes. Since 2013 we’ve panicked and half arsed thrown money at every problem and it seems we’ve reverted to type and done the same here with Ronaldo in a bid to not lose face. Second or third and a deep CL run would have been good enough momentum to keep building upon and add one or two more players and so on... and that’s still very possible but still…

now he’s the only one who can save us. Real Madrid’s greatest ever player! The Ronaldo > United fans must be loving this. We are such a meme. 2 steps forward, 5 back. If you told me at the start of the transfer window we’d end 2021 with Conte and Ronaldo I’d have probably cried and not in the good way. All Oles work undone in 3 months. Ole is his own worst enemy when it comes to squad management and was definitely learning on the job but adding Ronaldo sent expectations through the roof when in reality the team he had been slowly building has been broken trying to fit a player in who is on the way down

It was always going to be a gamble. Let’s just hope for Oles sake it was his own decision because it’s going to cost him his job.

Now we are heading back to the Jose plan. And around and around we go. We’ll find a post Fergie identity… eventually…

Unfortunately I dont see we have built something. Some of the problems which exist now were there last year too. We were being outplayed in many games last year and in many games we were conceding first than coming back into games and so on. All the while there was not any structure or cohesive play but individual quality bailing us out. I must admit I was thinking back then it's all building to something but I was wrong.
Weather its Ole decision or not it doesnt paint him in a good picture either way. If it was his decision that means he bought Ronaldo without the slightest idea how to fit him in. If it wasnt his decision it means he was forced to buy him and that portrays him as a week manager.
Not to mention persisting with the same team week in week out and frozening some players on the bench doesn't help him one bit.

Looks real to me but happy to be corrected
 I genuinely might have been duped by the last dregs of optimism I had for the team! My apologies, it seems legit.
Unless Ole was doing the same gestures right before this then it's just people's opinions that he did this to mock Ole (or anyone). To me it looks more like he's gesturing to the players that they were running all over the place before Salah scores. But hey, maybe I'm wrong. I mean this is a thread about Ronaldo telling the other players to stand behind the manager while he's in the job, so maybe it makes more sense that he's also mocking the manager on the pitch.

Don't think it's true, if Ronaldo is required to keep the players together then it means Ole's job is untenable because he's lost the dressing room.

And you, a football supporter who knows how City play and who knows that all City players press and nobody gets guaranteed game time, could be naive enough to believe that comical little rumour that Mendes put out to panic United into agreeing a ludicrous salary?

And, even funnier, you’re now stuck with an old boy who’s become so lazy that he’s the football equivalent of a one legged man in an arse kicking competition

And, even funnier than that, you didn’t even learn the lesson from your panic buy of past-it Sanchez

It’s like Groundhog Day - you’re the gift that never stops giving!

How laughable is this, Ole needed Woodward, Ferguson and Ronaldo to defend him against the players just to keep his job. A manager who can't even win the players trust by himself and we are letting him continue coaching us.

The one legged man that has double the amount of goals as Jesus in PL and CL, so what does that make Jesus, fecking useless that’s what.

Maybe Pep coming out and doing an interview saying some players go where they want isn’t enough for you no?

City wanting Ronaldo baffles me personally. He's as far away from Pep's version of striker as you can get. Doesn't press, doesn't share in build up and invisible without scoring. How the feck did Pep want him to lead his team when he favors playing without strikers at all just to keep possession? No striker of Ronaldo's current version has succeeded long term with Pep. It just doesn't make sense and it's absolutely baffling if he was actually interested in Ronaldo leading the line for City.

Fergie coming out for support, then this Ronaldo tweet, all can be so patronizing for Ole, I don't know whether he feels thankful or more insulted.

He probably didn't really want him. He just didn't want us to have him. He must be having a big old laugh now that he sees we're still in shambles even with him in board.
