Outside of Conte we are in caretaker territory with no certainty to have someone decent this summer. But to be fair we knew that last Summer already so nothing changed and we better hope that Ole does the job.
We still had the option of Conte until now and we have decided to fall on the Ole named sword, cock first. It's like the Board loves to feck with the club. Who cares about winning when people will keep buying ST and put on a smiling face and keep buying merchandise. The Glazers bought the best possible club for them where the fans won't make too much of a fuss (apart from thag Green and Gold campaign which amounted to nothing) and they make a killing.

Having a yes man is more important to the board, than getting in a world class manager.

When we eventually get twatted 3-0 or 4-0 by City, we will end up sacking Ole and basically writing this season off.

Can't believe we've let Spurs get Conte. Absolutely pissed, by far the best manager available. Rodgers or Poch will end up coming in and fail again
They're betting the farm that Poch will get sacked by PSG this year at this point. I don't see them going for Ten Hag and doing another rebuild at all.

How can the "senior board figures" not be convinced of Conte, but are happy with Ole? Its just baffling. Who do they think is a better candidate? Rodgers who is a bottler? Pochetino who is struggling at PSG?
Struggling? Man is top of the CL group and top of Ligue 1

The CL group topping is a fluke. They were comprehensively outplayed by Bayern, City last season and City this season. RBL were hardly the team they were under Nagelsmann (8th in the Bundesliga, Konate, Upamecano left etc. etc)

Less said about Ligue 1 the better.

Just look at what PSG fans think of him and you'll get your answer.

How is Poch struggling at PSG?

They're top of their league by 8 points and top of their UCL group

So Conte is on his way to Spurs, Zidane made it very clear he’s not interested and Poch and Ten Haag are tied up until the end of the season. Ole’s got the whole season now, his luck is fecking incredible.
Which is not very lucky for us. Actually it's not bad luck when you keep making poor decisions.

Yes, because he's not doing particularly well in the CL, can't fit Messi into his line up anywhere (shoved him on the RW where he walks around for a bit), fans unhappy etc.

I am fairly certain he'll get sacked as soon as they exit the CL.

Do you watch them play? They play horrible football, their front 3 is not clicking, and being top of Ligue 1 is not an achievement with their squad.
Yeah beats me how Pochettino fans can actually use Ligue 1 to prove he’s doing fine. It’s a league you absolutely must win comprehensively when you are in charge of PSG whose medium transfers are worth more than most of the teams in the league starting XI.

People crying over Conte going to Spurs... A) Conte and Levy will just not work. Actually, I cannot imagine worse combo than this. Conte will probably be moaning by mid-Jan! B) if Conte wants United job, it would be worth waiting 5 days until we play City as Ole’s job probably depends on this game. If Conte decides to join Spurs prior to that then I don’t know why anybody would be concerned about him as this would mean that he preferred to join Spurs rather than wait a week or two for us to come knocking.

Pochettino and PSG have a similar problem like us - unbalanced squad with players brought in without looking at the bigger picture. Players like Messi, Mbappe, Neymar, Pogba, Ronaldo - they are not easy to handle and forced into a system which might not be 100% built to their strengths.

All I'm thinking is, if we want to sack Ole after City, we would look like real idiots. Because Conte would no longer be available, it would be too late to get a top manager, and we would have basically dithered into wasting this season because we wanted to "stand by our manager" after Liverpool put 5 past us at OT.

Is that his fault, though?

Messi is past it. Mbappe is a primadonna who doesn’t want to be there and to borrow a phrase from the caf: Neymar is the type of bloke who’ll switch off your life support to charge his phone.

No, fecking shit. What a shit news to hear. I can't believe we fecked up yet another perfect appointment by not being ruthless enough.

Fecking Spurs were more ruthless than us. I can't believe it.

I don't want to talk anymore. We're a club run by clowns and it'll never change. Ole will be our manager forever. It's hopeless to keep discussing shit when absolutely nothing will change.

They won’t sack him after City now as everyone is so over the moon with the 3-0 at Spurs. I’m pretty sure he’s going to get until the end of season unless it looks like we are drifting further away from top 4 or get knocked out in CL groups.

Spurs offering Conte a 18 month contract. As if we couldn't offer him that. Feck this club. We deserve to be in the pits.

Have a feeling this will be his Mourinho to Man Utd move. His watershed, where his reputation as an elite manager will take a big hit and elite clubs won't seriously consider him again.

Why? Wouldn't Real Madrid be a better example because Conte just had two excellent seasons with Inter while Mourinho had a second meltdown at Chelsea after his meltdown with Madrid?

Pochettino’s style of football is what he was doing at Soton and early Spurs (their players burnt out towards the end and they wouldn’t reinvest). That was a well organised high press which is absolutely not possible with PSG’s front 3. Not one of them will press. Tuchel also had a hard time there.

I think the United squad would suit Pochettino better because Rashford and Greenwood would benefit from learning a press. Cavani can do it. Ronaldo won’t but that’s only one player. At PSG he has not one forward who will press and Messi, Mbappe, and Neymar all seem to have toxic personalities.

I don’t think he’s the best in the world but he’s lower risk (lower reward) than Ten Hag, better than Rodgers, and I think would be motivated by the United job. If he goes back to his aggressive press then I think he’d be decent.

From being bullish about our title credentials to hoping to stay in the fight for top 4. Yet we think we are a good set of fans for not booing the manager.

Listen, even I dont think Conte and Spurs will end well because of Levy, but Conte would have been a really good fit for United, and that's what sucks. Regardless, Conte will have Tottenham playing better and more succesful than Ole's United that's for sure.

Wouldn’t worry, he won’t get Tottenham firing, shore up the defence yes but Kane is finished and Son isn’t much better. He will be sacked in 18months…

Mourinho went to Spurs after poor run with United which was preceded with poor start to season at Chelsea. Conte has had 1 below par season in club football in his career (second year at Chelsea).

I’ll take your word for it, this time.

I do think that he is at fault, on paper he has the most balanced PSG squad since 2015 and he managed to make them look like the worst since 2011.

Stop fooling yourselves thinking Ole will get sacked if we lose against City.

We got humiliated by Liverpool and he's still here. He will only get sacked if top 4 becomes mathematicaly impossible. After the Liverpool game it's clear he won't ever get sacked due to one game because quite frankly it can't get any worse than that one.

I’m only taking the piss mate. I’ve no idea what’s going on at PSG. I was hoping that some Messi fanboy would bite more than anything.

I will take your word for it, though.

What’s going on there then? Have we dodged a bullet with Poch?

The Real Madrid job is the one that damaged Mourinho's reputation which was followed by his meltdown at Chelsea, Mourinho's reputation was pretty damaged when United got him. Conte is in a completely different situation hasn't really had a meltdown yet, furthermore his last job was a big success.

No, it means that United has made it clear to him that they are not interested in him.

I used to really like Pochettino but I'm starting to think that we did dodge a bullet and that he is the argentine Emery. A decent coach.

You can just imagine how the phone conversation went between Daniel Levy and Conte’s agent...

DL: Can I speak with Mr Conte directly please?
(Antonio Conte being impressed with Daniel referring to him as ‘Mr’ begins to move closer to the phone that his agent is holding)
CA: He can’t come to the phone at the moment (Conte showing Daniel how big his balls are), but I can assure you that Mr Conte is interested in the position of manager at Tottenham Hotspur Football Club... provided Mr Conte’s needs are met (Conte now metaphorically swinging around his big balls in Daniel’s face)

DL: What are Mr Conte’s needs?
CA: Minimum 3 year contract...
DL: STOP! I do not hand out 3 year contracts like sweets. My name is Daniel Levy of Tottenham Hotspur, not Donald Duck of Disneyland.
CA: OK

DL: 18 months take it or leave it
CA: (Thinking what to say next) Erm

DL: (Now deciding to swing his own potatoes) There are two very big reasons that I am the Chairman of Spuds...
CA: Loud and clear Mr Sir Daniel Levy Sir. Antonio is packing his suitcase as we speak!

Spurs learned nothing from the Mourinho appointment? At least there are some clubs more in shambles than United at the moment.
