I do feel a bit sorry for him. He should never have gotten the job if all things were equal.

Ole’s interview is so underwhelming; you don’t believe in his words and he speaks in cliches with no sense he has a clue what to do to fix anything. It’s a mercy killing by now to sack him.

That was heartbreaking to watch. Like seeing a conference team go up against a PL team in the FA Cup.

There is absolutely no way back for Solskjaer after this. Even the home crowd is now turning on him.

The board have two weeks to bring in either a new manager or caretaker. Anything less than that is gross negligence.

just grim

I'm not taking for granted that the idiots at board level will make the right decision here in this

He should have gone after Liverpool.

Well, conversely, he got his dream job that he was in no way qualified for and got way longer to try and achieve something than any other top club would have given a manager with those results. He's probably been the luckiest manager on world football, I wouldn't feel too sorry for him.

Personally, I don't want for it to continue. I don't want him coaching another United game.
He doesn't even coach the team by his own admission - he's just a nostalgic figurehead the Glazers put in charge in order to draw away ire from them.

I can’t help but feel for OGS - he looks crestfallen and doesn’t seem to know how to turn things around - maybe he’s expecting the tintack…

The coaching staff are very good, brilliant. Big games coming up, so no time to sulk, no time to feel sorry for yourself. We have to come together. Time to get over it as quick as we can. Individual mistakes cost us today, a bit unlucky with two goals conceded, game could've gone either way. Lads know they were not good enough and this is not good enough. We are so close and we can't give up now.
What the feck are you watching.

Really? Was there a huge protest at the time Ole was signed to a long term contract?.
You know, maybe like planes flying over Old Trafford with signs that said, "Hire a competent manager."

The Glazers may be coming to suspect that the entrenched & entitled currently at Utd don't have a clue what they're doing....what should they do? The fans will squeal bloody murder at the thought of any of them being replaced.

You play to the opposition.

When you play against a team that is well below you in standards you can rest players, play fringe players, play at a lower intensity, beat them and then let off the gas to rest for more important upcoming games etc.

In times long gone no matter who you were you played your best and hardest against Utd because we were dangerous.

Liverpool beat the crap out of us at home and then eased off to save energy for harder games to come. Today Pep showed that no more than 60% will be enough to win as a well coached team against us.

The owners are responsible for all this mess we are in and they need to be hounded out. Stop buying merchandise and boycott the sponsors!
Our coaching staff has proven to be completely inept for many years now. Clear out. It's not a charity we are running.
And Ole... Please just go. It's like being stuck on a rollercoaster. I just feel really sick now and need this to all stop.

:lol:Keane saying if he looked behind him on the coach and saw Fred, Maguire, AWB, and Shaw he'd realise he was in trouble.

If we got relegated Neville would argue Ole deserved the chance to bring us back up

Am just as sick of Keane and Neville attacking individual players and everything else apart from Ole, just doing their best to dance around the issue. We need Micah Richards to come out and say the truth.

Keane and neville won’t say anything against ole.

it’s the players.

it’s not. It’s our coaching and manager. This squad is very good.

Just embarrassing really. Set up with 5 at the back and we were just as bad as were against Liverpool. Luckily for Ole, City were nowhere near as clinical as Liverpool and David made some cracking saves, even if he was at fault for the second.

Bringing on Sancho and Donny just smacked of desperation, pathetic. Him (finally) bringing on Donny reminded me of LVG bringing on Powell in that game against Wolfsburg I think? Just chucking someone on with the slight glimmer of hope they might do something. Where's he been for the last fecking year?

The less said about the punditry after the game, the better. Just shite all round.

If Ole isn't gone after this then I give up.

Inside Fred the Red
I find him more in the Sir Alex mold to be honest, except for the aura, charisma, strategical planning and man management skills among other qualities. He is to Sir Alex what Pulis is to Mourinho. He wants to be pro active but thinks he can do it '90s style where you just find 11 players that can win their duels, motivate them to tackle and close down and get your pacey dribblers to unlock defenses. I hadn't actually heard what @Bastian wrote about OGS saying he sees himself more of a leader but it does make perfect sense. He wants to play the Sir Alex forgetting two key things; 1) he does not have Sir Alex's personality and unparalleled ability to build and eye for talent and 2) he is competing in the age of micro coaches with significantly more refined structure and systems.

I see a lot of comments addressing the quality of players and OGS stylistic preferences. This makes it sound like implementing a way of playing is a simple of matter of wanting and deciding and getting the right players to do it. It neglects the very obvious element of actual technical competence of the individual in charge. If said technical competence was so irrelevant, there would be absolutely no reason to pay high wages to the likes of Klopp or Guardiola. OGS's problem is not that he doesn't have the right players or that he is inherently defensive or cautious or whatever, it is, from how it looks now at least, that he is not good enough in the areas that are very relevant in modern coaching.

I’d pay to watch Keane asking Ole that about Fred haha.

Roy Keane ' If Ole walked in here now, I'd grab him by the collar and ask him, why are you playing Fred'

He's always good for a bit of drama

It's becoming ole FC, there is no discussion about how the club is being destroyed by this silly nonsense.
