- Manchester United registered more shots on target against themselves (two) than they did at Manchester City’s goal.

– Manchester United managed just four touches in the opposition box. That’s their lowest tally in any game since Opta started recording the statistics in 2008.

– City completed 753 passes – the most any team has completed in a Premier League match against the Red Devils since Optastarted recording pass stats in 2004.

– Man City’s back four completed 331 passes. United’s back five (plus substitute Alex Telles) completed 169 passes.

- All 10 of City’s outfielders registered more touches than any United player.

– Cristiano Ronaldo registered just 27 touches. By contrast, City’s false nine Bernardo Silva registered 86 touches.

– Joao Cancelo has four assists in the past week alone, plus the ball in that led to Eric Bailly’s own goal. That’s more than Jadon Sancho, Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Jesse Lingard and Mason Greenwood have all season combined

– United have now failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 14 home matches in all competitions – their longest run since 1959.

– Manchester United have lost more home matches (nine) than Crystal Palace (eight) since the start of last season.

50% conversion rate is pretty good, so that’s a positive?

I'm not that old but this is the worst United side I've ever watched, worse than the side that lost consecutive games under LvG and the difference in player quality between those two sides is startling.

Changed the mentality. It's a lot less "toxic". Which we all know is way more important than actually winning stuff. Smiling happy people, etc.

Thought that bonding meal would have solved all our problems, are you telling me Ole and his team actually gotta do some proper coaching and get the tactics right now?

Yeah, keep them coming. Name and shame them on social media and we might get a reaction. Guess, board needs an embarrassment before taking any action.

I have said it in a few threads previously...that stat about city’s defence...the number of passes they played...it settles the team down and breathes confidence into any team when you can have possession in sterile areas of the pitch unchallenged. Liverpool strutted around Old Trafford as well...moving the ball with ease, unchallenged and waiting for the right opportunities which inevitably arise...Utd are so passive out of possession. Where as every time we get a goal kick City smell blood...we play out from the back like under 9’s.

you can’t give top CB’s and top full backs an easy ride for 90 minutes and expect to have any foothold in the game. Its like conceding the high ground...it’s suicide.

And don't forget, the Norwich manager got fired for that.
We, on the other hand, are clinging onto this losing manager like their lives depend upon it.
Ole is incapable of ever winning a trophy (outside of Norway).

I spat out my flat pepsi reading this again. I had already seen it elsewhere and was expecting it.

Here's another stat for you, it look fewer than 10 seconds into the game for United to give back possession to City with a wayward pass.

That was as hapless a performance as I can recall. Just depressing stuff all over the pitch.

I don't think I have ever seen us in a game losing 2-0 and just give up completely. Since when is 2-0 at half time = game over?

He had three years back at Molde before here, and he couldn't even win one there either. The Molde fans wanted him sacked. So he's just awful everywhere.

The team picked today was about damage limitation, no intentions of winning the game, just hope for a nil nil.

We were in damage limitation mode from the first whistle. Embarrassing but not surprising as Ole is managing purely for his job now.

Agreed. But damage limitation starts at 4-0 or something not 2-0 at half time at home. Just tells you how inept the owners/board are if they just let this fester.

You forgot the 12th stat

12. The Glazers don’t care about league position or titles because we’re still making a ton of money for them. We’re a merchandising brand nowadays…..

SAF had the history of success to provide evidence that it was just a slight hiccup..... We have a manager with no relevant experience for a huge club like United who is now picking up pace to become less respected than David Moyes and LVG regardless of player history.

I wouldn't read into histroical stats and situations. Football has evolved massively since then, we had the greatest manager of all time back then and the squad needed to be rebuilt and didn't have some of the ridiculous talent we have now. For me, de gea, varane , Pogba, bruno, ronaldo, Sancho. Rashford, donny, shaw and cavani would get into most teams. Ole is out of his depth, has been for years and i wonder why it has taken people a long time to come to terms with this. Since fergie we stopped being a proper football club, we turned into hope and moment FC, largely driven by this pathetic board we have.

Another classic stat on MOTD tonight.

Having hired a set piece specialist coach last summer, Manchester United are the only team in the Premier League that has not yet scored from a set piece.

ffs
And readily concede from them. Feck knows what that bloke is doing.

The thing is, we’ve always assumed that the money will still keep rolling in, but is that now in danger?
There is no god given right for us to continue to be such a commercial powerhouse.
We could start to see the beginning of falling global sales and reduced TV rights, if we’ve become a failed, nothing team.
