He is getting song in 3,2,1

Anyway, if true, people can blame board, Glazers and Ed as much as they want but fan base plays good part in these failures. To repeat, it seems ONLY in United manager has to be around for 2 years plus, spend 300mil. to be green lighted for judgement.

Sadly dont think anything will change on that front, people will care more that they are percieved as good supporters, at least what supporting means in their minds.

Does he have his badges?
Does he though?
He started on his badges in the fall of 2020. Usually takes them a season to move up. Matic ie. Completed his B license last season, and is working on his A license this year.
The Pro license comes after that. I guess Fletcher could've been fast-tracked, but is there any source for him attaining the Pro License? I can't find it.

Why would we appoint someone who has never been a coach as a caretaker manager? Not that I would like to see Phelan or Carrick do it, but surely they have far more experience?

And they didn't hire Conte ffs. He was there and we should have signed him.

Oh well, it's what you get for mind bogglingly poor decision making. Heavens only know what they thought would happen to turn things around after the Citeh game. Lost 2 weeks that we could have used to get a new manager in properly. Now it's SOS time. Omnishambles!

How is it Chelsea get Hiddink and Benitez as interim managers and we get Fletcher?

Man, a perfect example of how not to run a multi million dollar establishment.

So we have been known for weeks that Ole isn't going to make it. Ok, some of them still believed he could turn it around but that's confidence. So Noone actually prepared for the worst case scenario ?
I can't really digest the fact that we aren't prepared for it. I mean, how much worse can you run a club ?

Makes no sense. There's a million options better than Fletcher for a temporary position. Club should have been sounding them out weeks ago. Incompetence.

I don't mind this if it's very brief. The biggest issue is keeping the coaching staff. If we're getting a new manager in soon, that's not an issue. But if we're getting a new manager in at the end of the season, we can't really sack the coaching staff and hire a new one.

But it's impossible to separate the incompetence of Ole's managerial reign from the coaching staff he's got.

We just reek of incompetence at every turn. Fletcher eh? Zero coaching experience. It's comedy gold.

Hopefully people won't blame Fletcher if things go tits up in the next xx games he's in charge. This is a setup to failure in any way you see one.

He was the best available option two weeks ago. The trigger should have been pulled then. Why did we wait for more bad results? The Liverpool match should have been the.final straw

Because they were long-term interim managers across a period of several months whereas we quite clearly want to make an appointment within a week or so. It really isn't rocket science.

I reckon he will be around for a bit. They will bring in Bodger eventually but won't want to look desperate or offer a January spending spree. If Fletcher can stabilise things they mightg bide their time.

Really? I'd be amazed if we get work done that fast at this club

If rumours are true that Fletch is caretaker then a few things come to mind.

1. They have not even devised a plan where Ole may need to go. The board should be replaced.
2. Potentially no coaches want us now and possibly the "yes men mentality" of the board is finally impacting on peoples choices.

Ole needed to go after Pool, the fact that it's only *potentially* happening now requires deeper examination of the role of the club in creating this mess.

Former player, limited management experience, in on an interim basis with a chance to prove himself.

What could go wrong? :nervous:
Not even remotely similar situations. I doubt Fletcher has ever managed a team. He's only ever been a coach. There's like 5% chance he becomes permanent.

We need someone in the dugout for the next couple of games. He'll do. No longer than that please.

Do you remember they just gave Solskjaer and Phelan contract extensions in the last 4 months?
I know but considering Fletcher has never managed before, this will likely be similar to the Giggs stint and hopefully even shorter.

Knowing this board, if he'll get a bounce, they'll give him a managerial contract. You'd think that's silly but that's the way this board works.

Yeah but why let that get in the way of people posting utter bollocks?
I just look at some of those posts for entertainment. People letting their frustrations ruin their common sense. Fletcher is not a manager and I doubt he'd even want the job full time.

The spirit of these players is so broken that I don’t see how Fletcher can restore it. They need a big name to believe and trust in ASAP.
Ronaldo seems pretty tight with him. This is just temporary.

Ridiculous that people are panicking about this. What do you expect? We don't have a replacement signed because we haven't even sacked Ole yet and we're playing in a couple of days. We need somebody to pick the team. It means literally nothing.

If we give Fletcher caretaker job that will be the most ridiculous decision we have made since well the last caretaker and the one before that! We deserve what we get at the minute.

Any other ex player loitering around want a crack at it.

Good stuff. You never know, he might do better than expected and our managerial search will be a lot easier than it could be!
