My first option for years is Poch. If we can get him in summer, i would wait. But i wouldn't mind that we ho all out attack for Ten Haag NOW.
There seems to be very widespread agreement that Poch or ETH are the acceptable names and we should wait till the summer to get one of them.

The common factor of course is that they both play high press. So that's going to have big big squad implications if that's how we go. Ronaldo in particular is not going to work in that system.

My preference would be a British manager who can help putting the right structure in place and sets out to play modern high pressure football as we see Shitty, the scousers and Chelsea play. Best candidate to meet those requirements is probably Potter.
Would top players have any respect for a non trophy winner….I like him myself.

Appoint VDS the CEO, get Micheal Edwards as sporting director, get Eric Ten Hag as manager.

Remove Fletcher, Carrick and all the incompetents from the club.

Every modern (attacking) manager plays high press. Ronaldo will adapt

Great thread title change and removing Conte. That said, there's still the option for a caretaker. Given we know this will be the case, and the thread title is for the permanent manager, shouldn't this also be removed?

No they don't (Conte, Zidane) and no he won't. It's like asking Pogba to defend. He will just sulk, do it badly then leave.

Nice idea but I don't think you should say that anywhere near Klopp or Pep if you value your health.

Because you’re being a xenophobic dick.

Manchester United is one of, if not the, biggest clubs in world football. Spoiler alert: it’s going to have foreign fans.
And most of you would be Chelsea or City fans now if you were born 20 years later.

Erik Hag would be first choice but it seems weird writing off another season to go with an interim until the summer.

We (fans) are too soft towards players. Will they listen to manager, will they play high press, will they accept bench etc...
We had two tough managers in Lvg and Jose. And fans took on players side which was unbelievable to me. Now we had "friendly" manager whos approach fans loved and look what happened. Anarchy.

They will listen to Poch. He has reputation of being a good manager. Trophies? He will win them this year :wenger:

In my opinion, the club needs to put foundations years for the next twenty years.

Look at Ajax or Bayern, we should be looking at adding in pieces that creates a club where managers who suit us, can be plugged in, rather trying to showhorn someone with an association with the club.

If your aunt had balls she’d be your uncle.
Truth got you there didn't it.

No real issue with foreign fans per say but when they say appoint former PL winning coach who managed Man City they deserve the stick. The guy they still sing about at City isn't going to take the Utd job in a million years.

Americans don't seem to get the rivalry thing very well as players and managers in American sport don't seem to care about team colours as much.

The only reason Rodgers is a possibility (not that I want him) is because he ultimately failed at Liverpool. Had he succeeded he'd never consider the job either nor would we

Looks like finally we will get our next appointment right with strong rumors of Poch and Ten Hag, both are modern progressive manager albeit not in the class of Pep, Klopp.

I don't believe in Zidane rumour, he would have come if he was interested and we don't need an interim manager at all.

Why do you want to antagonize people that have done nothing to you and that you don't know?

This season is already a write off until a DM or two is bought. It was a write off before we kicked a ball.

Why? Because of out of touch plastic Utd fans have no understanding of the rivalry between us and City?

Mancini wouldn't come anywhere near us after what he did there. It was a ridiculous suggestion and it deserved ridicule.
Again this shit? I thought that this shit is ancient history. But i see that it is again up.

Sorry that we support United. We plastic fans i mean. We will go to support Chelsea or City. Or Liverpool. We are waiting to see who will win PL this year so then we will decide.

The poster you were going in on about Mancini is literally named Bosnian Red and is listed as “from: Canada”. But yeah, just blame Americans

Just pay them off then, if that's the case.

They'll still win the Dutch league without him, won't they??
Probably. Feyenoord can take first place if they win their game in hand.
Because it would be the most United appointment.
Because United fans believe in fairy tales. Maybe Carrick is the next Busby/SAF!?

Ronald Koeman is waiting for a call :D
I know this is a piss take, but the man knows the league, has managed big names like Virgil and usually fecks off with a cup wherever he's managed.
He's a marginally better choice than the Spanish Moyes and a much better manager than Carrick.

He's top 10 on my interim list and he should be on yours too.

Truth: This forum is owned by a “foreign fan”.
Even worse, I heard he's Irish :wenger:

Agreed, but he isn't the problem.
Agreed. But I don't think he's part of the solution either. Bring in ETH and then say 'oh but you have to play the 37 year old who won't press because he sells shirts in China.' The conversation is not going to go well.

My biggest concern is I suspect the clubs first priority is a manager that will always pick Ronaldo and not sideline him as a bit part player.

Tell him if you give him the ball he is likely to score more than rashford, Greenwood and see what they say.

Whoever comes in, it’s vital that they bring in their own coaching staff and that Carrick and company gets ousted. Should be nowhere near the first team.

Even if we bring in Ten Hag, leaving the current coaching staff in place would be a huge problem. Need a complete reset and the incoming manager needs full control to implement his vision.

No more of the United DNA old boys club bullshit. Club needs to realize it’s the 21st century and that the game has evolved.

Ronaldo and Poch/ETH seem to be on a collision course already. No wonder his guy is putting out flares for Zidane and Enrique.

They will say no press no play. They have no other option. You can't play a system and then disable it.

It's like saying if a Manchester lad was born in Newcastle then he'd be a magpie.

Silly argument. I'm 36 live in Northern Ireland and I know many United fans that are in their 50s and 60s. How come they don't support Liverpool who where the dominant force in the 70s and 80s?

We should go full on Ten Haag. Hopefully we can convince him and Ajax.

On the other hand I'm genuinely scared that if we win the next couple of games Carrick will be inevitably offered a permanent job. We're just that stupid.
