Classy indeed, you won't see many managers having the balls to do an interview like that after getting sacked. Most go into hiding then start blaming anyone and everyone for their own failure when they do finally crawl out of the woodwork.
Still don't get this better shape line being banded about. Out of contract Pogba, Lingard, Mata Cavani. Strikers with a combined age of 70.He leaves us with a better squad and in a better shape then when he joined. Couple of additions and a better manager should be able to get much better performance from the team.
Of course he did.Yes and he's actually 29. He went to uni with McKenna
Eric Ramsay set piece coach
Ole is a club legend, he will be around the club in the future for events or maybe even as an ambassador. I think that it's a great thing to not treat him like everyone else and recognize that it's just the end of one journey and the beginning of an other. Personally I have no hard feelings toward him and will be glad to see him around United again. Not as a manager though! That’s just weird. Who fires someone and then does that?
Definitely fits though. Presume that has to come from someone related to McTominay or Rashford, since they're the main two who were overplayed with chronic injuries that should have been operated on earlier.Surely bollocks, that's ridiculously weak.
Well said.Ole is a club legend, he will be around the club in the future for events or maybe even as an ambassador. Let's see how they look under a new manager. We have Sancho, Rashford, Greenwood, Martial, Bruno, Amad; Cavani barely plays and the other striker is bloody Ronaldo. We will also get to see how VDB and Fred both look under a different manager and I'm sure with better defensive organization, Maguire, Shaw and AWB will look good. Clubs sack managers for a reason and acting like we didn't see great performances for Maguire, Shaw and AWB for the majority of Ole's tenure is recency bias. The new manager would simply need to find us a midfielder and maybe another cb if Maguire proves to not recover his form. Its not too much and is far better than what Mourinho gave himStill don't get this better shape line being banded about. Out of contract Pogba, Lingard, Mata Cavani. Strikers with a combined age of 70.
7th in the league. 120m spunked on Maguire and AWB
So Fletcher then, like what's already been decided?Literally anyone but one of the three people that been in charge of this shit show.
He's a lovely guy but this is just Mates FC summarised in a 50 second clip isn't it?
This full interview is going to hit right in the feels.
It’s not Ole I have the problem with. It’s the club. It’s a really weird thing to do when you sack someone for not being good enough at their job. We’d be pissing our holes laughing if Arsenal did it with Arteta.Ole is a club legend, he will be around the club in the future for events or maybe even as an ambassador. We won't. I think he'll get a job on a low league or maybe international football for Norway.I wonder if we will ever see him back in the PL as a manager. Who would hire him?
Some of us never wanted him appointed permanently and have seen the mediocre performances through the results for a long time.3 years? Finishing 3rd and 2nd?
Grow up.
Arteta isn't an Arsenal legend, if they sack him there will be no reason for him to be tightly and positively associated with the club. Ole is part of the club history, the minute he isn't a manager, he is a club legend as a former player. If opposition fans want to laugh at that they can, I don't care. It’s not Ole I have the problem with. It’s the club. I love Ole and I want him to still be associated with the club in a positive way but it’s a really weird thing for the club to release a farewell interview after sacking a manager who wasn’t up to the task. Like seriously, really weird. It just feels wrong.Arteta isn't an Arsenal legend, if they sack him there will be no reason for him to be tightly and positively associated with the club. He probably just wanted goodbye, I doubt it the club forcing him to do it.I love Ole and I want him to still be associated with the club in a positive way but it’s a really weird thing for the club to release a farewell interview after sacking a manager who wasn’t up to the task. How are we better on and off the pitch? He picked favorites and alienated bench players, stuck to his guns on keeping coaches over from the previous failed management and paid for it with his eventual and very predictable dismissal.Class interview. A class bloke, he hasn’t deserved all the childish shite he’s been given especially online. He has without doubt left us in a better position on and off the pitch.
The squad is far far better, off the field we are far far better. Couldnt care less for your Jose comparisons that guy was an absolute drain on us financially and mentally. He took us to a dark dead end. There’s no huge rebuild required now. Just need to get the right man in to take us forward. We’ve every reason to be optimistic and don’t need to wait 6 transfer windows to get the squad anything like how it should be. If you don’t agree with that, then that’s up to you but personally think we are miles better off.How are we better on and off the pitch? We're playing worse football with a better squad than the one he inherited.
Solskjaer has left us 12 points off the top in week 12. In week 12 of 2018/19 under Mourinho we were also 12 points off the top, also had a negative goal difference but we managed 3 points more than we have now.
So even statistically Solskjaer has had a worse start this season than Mourinho's miserable final season. Our defensive record under him has been worse than it was under Mourinho despite throwing money at Maguire and convincing many that we finally had a true leader at the back. He couldn't even win a single piece of silverware with this squad
So please tell me how we're better on and off the pitch
Not surprised, probably looking after his pals.Apparently the club wanted him to upgrade his coaching staff but he turned it down?
This.Overdue, but I’m actually quite melancholy about it. I’ve no faith in the people at the top to get anything right.

Pep Guardiola on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's sacking
"I wish him all the best. It was a pleasure to play [against] him. He beat me more than I wanted..."
"He knows, like I know, when you're in charge of a team like United, Man City, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, you have to win. I'm still here because I won. Otherwise, it'd be another person here. Hopefully one day we can see each other again."
I think we did though mate. The board went from trying to avoid the sacking at all costs to firing him in a matter of hours. You don't make managerial decisions on short term results. It's the progression of on-filed performances over a longer period of time. Even if the Watford result was positive it was quite obvious the team needed a change of direction. Fans in my opinion are getting this wrong wishing negative results. Obviously, the board needs to be proactive and should not have let this get this bad before acting.
Yep, he should have an ambassadorial role for life.Ole is a club legend, he will be around the club in the future for events or maybe even as an ambassador. I think that it's a great thing to not treat him like everyone else and recognize that it's just the end of one journey and the beginning of an other. Go cry about it. All this sanctimonious nonsense now is nauseating.Wow! What a load of shit this post is
I never thought I’d find myself defending the Glazers. But you can’t have it every way. Ole was popular with the fan base. Once he went on his run(s), hubris and nostalgia and simply optimism set in. Rio and G Nev weren’t alone. Most of the Caf were delighted too. As was I. Both appointment and extension were popular moves. It's not like the board has a choice and Carrick is the only option right now. You just can't sack the whole coaching staff when you don't already have a replacement aligned.
Now how they did get into this mess is for everyone to see. Ole should've gone in the summer, after the EL final and especially after all the marquee signings (C. Ronaldo in particular). You have are big, ambitious players, used to win big trophies and they won't take average results or pastings like Liverpool very well. They won't put up very long with an inexperienced, rudderless coaching team that seems to play the same batch of players, regardless of their form or the opposition and without any real plan. At a certain moment, they'll stop to believe in the manager and play for him even if they like him, and I think that's what happened. Anyone who played in a club, and it doesn't need to be a high level, knows that when the doubt sets up, the results don't follow and you'll start to lose the dressing room. Players won't turn on you off the bat, but they'll start gradually to question your decisions and then stop giving you 100%. Which will bring even more bad results. It's a vicious circle and what happened yesterday is the culmination of what was brewing since September.
Your board has to take full blame for hanging onto OGS until the very last moment, tolerating the actual shit-show and never planning for the long-term. They panic sacked him, that's why Carrick is now in charge and that means the season's gone if they can't find a capable manager very soon. It's a real pity because while imperfect you currently have a great squad, capable of achieving something, especially if you get a DM. Who knows who you're going to lose in the summer if you don't reach top 4 at the end of the season? C. Ronaldo will also be a year older in the next one.
A long as you don't have a competent DoF and the owners really willing to acknowledge your club's footballing dimension, then you're never going to really achieve what your club should be capable of.
