Dropping in my work league after weeks of clinging onto 2nd undeservedly / having had a storming first 10 weeks.

Team doesn't look "too" bad on paper.

Ramsdale
TAA Cancelo James Reguillon Duffy
Salah Raph Jota Townsend Burnley
Kane Antonio Hwang

Thinking that Kane is critical to get out of there, probably for Ronaldo this week. Will need to monitor the drop/rise of respective values to make sure the 0.1m bank works out.

Next up after that probably need to finally get Townsend out of there, potentially with Hwang.
Love it that you always just write Burnley .

Too much invested in Kane as you say. Raphinha fixtures are terrible so I think you should be looking at getting 2 in from Foden/Bilva/Bowen/Son. Probably keep Antonio but a Watford striker and/or Broja would do no harm with Hwang definately having to make way

I have Kane in my team at 12.2, and he's currently 12.3 in the game.
He'll go down soonish, but I can't quite work out whether my value of Kane will stay at 12.2, or go to 12.1.

Brought him in at week 12, and he's down at 12.1 in week 1, and 12.2 in week 2, but it's difficult to work out the exact timing of when he came into mine.

Might just risk it to Ronaldo now, as a drop and being 0.1m off would be awks.

Can't remember the guy's name

There's 2 ways really aren't there.
The 3 mid prices/cheaper strikers way with a beefed midfield, or the star premium up front.

It feels more tempting to go Ronaldo, we've all talked about it for weeks.

Think 12.1

I had James at 6.2, his price went to 6.3. Then back down to 6.2 and now my James is 6.1

Go to the transfer page and select "list view". You'll see the price you purchased him for there.

Aye the defence has little room for manoeuvre. We all have Ramsdale/Sanchez + Foster, 3 premium defenders, alonso/reguilon/White and Livra.

To me its a decision between Son or Ronaldo. In midfield I like Salah, Jota, Son, Bowen, Raphinha, Bilva and to a slightly lesser extent Mount. Upfront I barely like anyone.

Last night I had a front 8 plan of:
Salah Jota Foden Bowen ESR
Ronaldo King Broja

This involved transferring out Son and Raphinha though to facilitate Ronaldo who both did well today so I'm really not sure anymore.

Top man. I've never actually used that page!

But 12.2 on there, which should mean a 12.3 to 12.2 drop is essentially meaningless, and buys a bit of time as long as Ronaldo doesn't go up of course!

I think i'll keep the faith in Antonio ahead of their run of fixtures, and go with Kane to Ronaldo.

A lot in my league won't have the "Big" 3 in defence, they'll have this and that, but not all 3. So between those 3, Ronaldo, Antonio, Salah, Jota and Reguillon there's plenty of potential for big scores, just need it to tie together!

Sheesh, at least I don't have your tagline. How's that for pressure?
No pressure at all, Shakesey. I realised very quickly that I was the Leicester of the Caf fantasy world. Every dog has his day, keep the faith.

Aye not a bad shout to keep Antonio. I had been thinkin of covering West Ham with Bowen instead but as I say with so many midfielders of interest it might make more sense to keep Antonio. If the picture changes the like of Wilson, Watkins or DCL can be brought in.

Think at the minute the best squad I can work towards over the next couple of weeks (imaginary wildcard if you like) is:

Ramsdale / Foster
TAA / Cancelo / James / Reggie / Livra
Salah / Son / Jota / Foden / Bilva
Antonio / King / Davis

Foden and King the 2FTs this week for Raphinha and Toney. Bilva for ESR and Reggie for Alonso are only nitpicking moves

So my team is currently

Sanchez Guaita
TAA Rudiger Cancelo Reguilon
Salah Raphinha Jota Gallagher Mbeumo
Kane Hwang Dennis

with 0.1 ITB. I have exact money for a move from Kane -> Ronaldo. Worth prioritising ahead of Norwich, esp with him likely being rested midweek? Or should I roll a transfer for another week and try to do something like Kane + Raphinha --> Bernardo Silva + Antonio? Any advice would be great!

Got to back Ronaldo over this next run.

The thrills of Ronaldo scoring when he's in your team is just off the scale

Need to fit Foden into this somehow.

Ramsdale Foster
TAA Cancelo James Alonso Livramento
Salah Jota Bernardo Gallagher Brownhill
Ronaldo Antonio Hwang

Any ideas?

Now I know I got Kane in at 12.2 and a 12.3 drop doesn't reduce my value to 12.1 and ruck the Ronaldo move up I probably will.

Have a feeling we'll still start Ronaldo as he'll want to match his scoring in all 6 group games record.

Have to consider losing one of the big 4 in defence probably.

Can you do Gallagher and Antonio to Foden and King/Broja
Yeah that's an easy route but would feel a bit shit after holding Antonio all this while. But I think you are right. That's better than downgrading the defense. There are quite a few good def options especially if Reg is back soon. Antonio looked better vs Chelsea. If he doesn't return soon he should just go. Can potentially take out Antonio Hwang Gallagher Brownhill for King Broja Foden Bowen.

Ha thanks, that's what I wanted to hear as it's what I wanted in my heart :D Will definitely need to find a way to shoehorn in a City midfielder one way or another ahead of their run -- no Antonio also has me a little worried. Am hesitant to take any hits (have done one so far), though I do have a ~30 point lead at the top of my ML so maybe wouldn't be the most catastrophic thing to do....

Last GW I was on 90% template and a 100k red arrow. Now at 86% and a 50k green arrow with Ramsdale left.

Key transition point for the template right now. Gotta make some early moves.

My concern would be their squad size and a busy run of games leading to Pep(si Max) roulette
Yeah that's why you need two tickets. I went for Bernardo because he has played 90 mins every game and has been the heart of their attack so far. He may be rested for one game but over the whole period he should start. I was worried he will be rested after playing midweek but still played 90. Will get rested in midweek now.

Same with Foden. His only competition in his positions in Grealish and Pep pretty much shat on Jack in the post match presser saying Foden in 5 minutes up front did incredible. I don't see Pep dropping him apart from one odd game which you gotta accept.

Also given how tight the race is he is not going to drop the best players in the team.

From what I see we can count Ederson Walker Dias Laporte Cancelo Rodri Bernardo and Foden as close to nailed as you'd get under Pep. KDB and Gundo will take up the third CM spot and 2 out of Sterling Jesus Mahrez Grealish for attack.

Sterling and Gundogan seems pretty nailed on these days too. Always involved. Im a Bernardo+Foden man myself though. Waiting to see what Foden's appearances will look like in the next couple of games - 8.1m is a bit too much if he only features every second game.

12k have brought in Fred.
Obviously that is kneejerk, but I’m not sure whether there is a better midfielder at 4.9 or less. He fills a niche. Maybe even at 5.5 or less. Henderson stands out, but he has too high an opportunity cost.

Yeah Sterling looks to be back. Mahrez is kinda out of it so I think one out of Sterling, Jesus and Grealish will be benched each GW.

Gundo/KDB is the most interesting one. Gundo has been great, and KDB is just back now and previously been benched in the league this season when fit. So yeah, as always no one really knows what he's gonna do. Maybe KDB goes to false 9 instead of Grealish, with Foden and Sterling out wide and the current trio in midfield. That should probably be his best bet for now.

At that range you jut get the 4.4 one and invest elsewhere. 6m is pretty much the base for anyone half decent in midfield.
